Jeroenst
I'm building a music player app for my android head unit because the current skins don't meet my needs. Is it possible to create a skin like my app? ( https://github.com/jeroenst/carmusic ) The |<< and >>| buttons are for going to the next or previous folder. Quote Translate Revert translation? andrewilley
It ought to be possible to create a layout like that - although it would look a bit odd on most modern devices as landscape layouts are really wide, hence most skins putting the buttons AND the text on the right side, with the cover image a bit larger on the left. Skins can't currently create extra additional items though. The core app provides skins with pre-formatted text for Title, Artist-Album, user-selected metadata line content, counter, duration, etc. so a skin can only move those around or change their appearance (size/font/background/etc) not add/change the actual wording. Jeroenst
The reason of these big wide buttons is to make them use able while driving. When driving every second on the screen is a second less attention to the road which can be dangerous, so it has to be a minimum. Also when driving it is more difficult to have a steady hand to touch the right buttons. I mostly use the buttons on my steering wheel but I can't detect longpress for going to the next folder for which I have to use the on screen buttons. Quote Translate Revert translation? andrewilley
Using the steering wheel buttons you use for track changing, try a double-tap to change category. Andre Quote Translate Revert translation? andrewilley
@Jeroenst yes, in Poweramp, 'Category' is just the general term for the currently playing grouping type - so it could mean Albums, Artists, Playlist, Folders, Genres, etc. depending on what you are currently listening to. So if you are listening to a folder, then using the 'Next Category' button will take you to the next folder. Andre Quote Translate Revert translation?
