Has there been any thoughts of allowing non-synced text running directly through the app? Same idea of reading lrc file but instead it would just be a .txt file. Would be nice as a large chunk of my music lyrics aren't synced but would still like to see the lyrics through the app

when can i expect low volume fix in hi-res output for usb DAC? It was working fine in 942

It might be that in 942 Hi-Res wasn't actually working at all (even though the Audio Info path reported it was) as the detection code has been improved and now reports more accurate results. However any programming changes are down to @maxmp not me I'm afraid, so you'd need to ask him.

Oh, and you'd be better opening a specific Bug Report thread, as report details posted in older build release threads might get overlooked now that a new build is out.

[Edit: I've moved the various related comments in the 942-945 build tread to their own topic:

@giannisgx89 regarding Dais skins playback control buttons - I replied you in the email. Also, for the future reference, the issue was due to the new Android 12 playback drawables not being used properly - you used "core" icons layer as placement for the whole button image. Nevertheless I added layer of compatibility in the next build 949 so sizes will be OK there.

Still recommend to decompose those buttons into background and foreground (core) drawables, so, for example, ripple animations work for them.

@andrewilley you're correct that the low volume is indication of DVC not working with Hi-Res AND previously this scenario hasn't always  been detected in earlier builds, so it was 48khz. Hi-res + DVC may be supported by the later firmware updates for your device or not, depending on the OEM.

After this latest beta update I do a full library scan, it scans all songs properly but I cannot open the albums, songs and many other pages. The app gets stuck and needs to be restarted. After that only 1 currently playing song shows up or only few songs under Settings>Library>Rescan details. I have attached a screenshot showing this. I have around 8910 songs.

@Tushar Narera Full Rescan ought to help. You don't say what Android version you are running, but I'd hazard a guess it might be 13 or 12? You may need to re-assign your Music Folder permissions (in Settings=>Library=>Music Folders) if that is the cause of the problem.

A rescan shouldn't lose existing internal playlists, but they seem to have been removed already if your screenshot is the result of a normal rescan? External playlists (such as M3U files) will be re-read when the file system is working again. You can always backup the current setup whenever you like using Settings=>Export Settings/Data, so if you are worried do that before you do another rescan.

After the new update, the ignore video track option is not working.

Seems only partly fixed in build 949. The scanner now correctly ignores my test MP4 and MKV files as per the option setting, but it let an MPG video file though into the library.

With latest update, I can no longer search for missing album covers.  Searching for artist images still works though.

Still seems to be a problem in build 949, searching for an image from the Albums list returns no results.

@UFOGO2 @有餅 @Xander71 @Squeller

Many of the items mentioned in this thread regarding lyrics are now fixed in build 949 if you'd like to give it a test:

  • Multiple timecodes at the start of entries are now handled correctly, with the text getting duplicated wherever it is needed within the song (e.g. for repeated choruses).
  • Multiple timecodes within one line (which might be included for word-by-word Karaoke-style displays) are ignored and removed from the display.
  • Out of sequence (including duplicated) timecodes are now sorted into their correct positions within the song.
Note: For exact duplicate timecodes, although every line is correctly displayed in the list, only the final one gets highlighted during playback. I think it would be better if all lines referring to a specific timecode are highlighted at the same time - e.g. in cases where lyrics have been provided in two languages, one line "as sung" and one line translated, as mentioned by @有餅 .
  • The final line of synced lyrics is now highlighted correctly.

The minor issue of being able to manually swipe the lyrics display down beyond the end of the text is still present.

I have just downloaded one LRC file:  The Black Keys - El Camino, Lonely Boy.
According to my test the lyrics were not displayed in the PA UI so far although I think that I have applied the right settings.

To my opinion the content of the LRC-file should be also correct:

[length:03:13.70]
[00:37.78]Well I'm so above you
[00:41.06]And it's plain to see
[00:43.80]But I came to love you anyway
[00:49.74]So you tore my heart out
[00:52.64]And I don't mind bleeding
[00:55.78]Any old time to keep me waiting
[00:59.38]Waiting, waiting
[01:01.93]Oh, oh oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
[01:07.42]Oh, oh oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
[01:13.68]I'm a lonely boy
[01:16.58]I'm a lonely boy
[01:18.93]Oh, oh oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
[01:35.82]Well your mama kept you but your daddy left you
[01:41.30]And I should've done you just the same
[01:47.44]But I came to love you
[01:50.33]And I want to flee
[01:53.74]Any old time you keep me waiting
[01:56.99]Waiting, waiting
[01:59.73]Oh, oh oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
[02:05.49]Oh, oh oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
[02:11.38]I'm a lonely boy
[02:14.38]I'm a lonely boy
[02:16.63]Oh, oh oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
[02:44.88]Oh, oh oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
[02:51.04]Oh, oh oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
[02:56.94]I'm a lonely boy

Does the LRC file have the exact same base filename, but with a .lrc extender, as the song file? And it's in the same folder? And you have enabled LRC files in Settings=>Look and Feel=>Lyrics, and you've done a rescan for good measure?

Yes, both files have the same base file name and are in the same folder:

A1 - Lonely Boy.flac

A1 - Lonely Boy.lrc

I have also enabled "Scan LRC file" and executed "Rescan Lyrics Scan" in the GUI above which has triggered a Full  Rescan.
Apart from that I have also set the preferred Lyrics app to none.

Edit: According to the relevant PA log the LRC-file was probably not counted during the special Lyrics Full Rescan:

@TheMegaXandy Most of the mainstream tag editors (MP3Tag, TagScanner) seem to use the USLT tag (unsynced lyrics) rather than SYLT (synced lyrics), even when creating lines with timecodes. This seems to work fine for the test files I've tried, and PA works out that the contents contain timecodes and treats them as synced anyway, and I see all of the intended lines of text.

The USLT tags is mean to be prefixed by a three-character language code and two bar characters on the first line (e.g. "eng||", but I suspect PA can cope with or without that being present. I'm not so sure about SYLT though, as it's not so well covered in the somewhat ad hoc specs.

Perhaps you could share a sample file which causes this problem for you?

To make tests easier I have just copied one folder to the internal storage of my Fiio M11 Plus DAP.

Now I'm getting a new error message in the log:

Obviously the LRC-File was ignored due to its size.

To my opinion it is rather strange that this IGNORE error did not occur during the Lyrics Full Rescan on the SD card with 33366 committed files.
