Poweramp builds 948-957

Hello Andre

The automatic Full Rescan was working since version 911 until version 945 after the relevant change of @Maxmp in July 2021.

At that time I have used my Fiio M11 Pro and later after a defect the new Fiio M11 Plus.

My SD card has stored a lot of folders because many apps did it automatically.

For my validation test I have first used an empty "Music" folder and after that the "z-Music" folder with my whole music libary with 5 subfolders and a content of about 1 TB.

According to the recent test the automatic "Full Rescan" is really failing after the switch from the empty "Music" folder to the "z-Music" folder by saving the "z-Music" selection.

Only the next "Full Rescan" by manually clicking on this button is working.

If you can confirm different behavior, please be more specific with your device/Android/storage type, number of files, primary format of files. Thanks!

Hello Maxmp,

The device is a Fiio M11 Plus with Android 10.

I'm using almost the same music library as for the app version 909 in July 2021. I have only added about 65 GB and 100 folders since then.

My music library is stored in about 907 GB, 5 main subfolders, 2564 detail subfolders and 41663 Flac files.

The result after the successful Full Rescan is 1826 Folders, 745 Playlists and 33426 songs. However i think this is correct  because the song total was only changed to 33370 after a new Rescan.

By "karaoke mode" (which is not really Poweramp's target market) do you mean that you want the text to be illuminated word-by-word as the lyrics are sung? It's up to Max to decide whether he wants to go down that route, but even if he does you'd need fairly specialist lyrics data or LRC files containing an extact timecode for every single word, such as:

[00:12.86]Outside [00:13.47]is [00:13.77]cloudy [00:14.63]but [00:14.99]I [00:15.34]like [00:15.74]that [00:16.14]better [00:17.05]Better [00:18.80]better [00:19.36]
[00:19.36]Behind [00:19.77]the [00:20.17]wheel [00:20.58]but [00:20.93]still [00:21.33]ain't [00:21.74]on [00:22.09]my [00:22.45]way[00:23.56]
[00:25.48]Some [00:25.84]people [00:26.60]say [00:26.95]they [00:27.35]want [00:27.76]to [00:28.11]live [00:28.47]forever[00:30.33]
[00:32.10]That's [00:32.35]way [00:32.65]too [00:33.01]long [00:33.40]I'll [00:33.82]just [00:34.17]get [00:34.52]through [00:34.93]today[00:36.34]

When you say you want to see the lyrics as a couple of lines on the main screen, do you mean scrolling up line-by-line, perhaps over the cover art area on the player screen? With the previous and forthcoming lines shown above and below the currently sung line, perhaps in slightly smaller text? That does seem to be a good way to display word-by-word content, and it has been mentioned a few times in the original discussions on this topic over the past few years.

I can't get MiniLyric to work on my current computer (development seems obsolete now, won't link to either Foobar2000 or VLC for me) but from their website screenshots it seems pretty similar to what Poweramp is doing - i.e. highlighting the current song line-by-line, not word-by-word:

That's compared to what Poweramp shows:

Could you elaborate on what you are wanting?

Hi there,
I upgraded to build 948 and I had just one question. Is there any way I can modify the height of the minimized player UI? (indicated with a red arrow at the bottom of the attached screenshot). Somehow, I keep accidentally hitting the seeker when attempting to maximize the player UI.

Thanks Max. Could this also be related to the increased number of FiiO users reporting problems with assigning and scanning their Music Folders in the first place? Would be good if both issues could be solved at the same time.

@Mark89 tag editor improvements are planned, but not in this series of betas (it's feature fixed already).

@maestro30k yes, something hits this particular device for some reason - not reproducible on other devices ATM, but I'm investigating.

Forgot to mention that it is also slow scanning playlists on my Xperia 1 II

Hi,andre. There is a simple problem.lyrics display does not support subtitles of two languages displays at the same time,it only displays Chinese.like this(1 and 2).for displays at the same time, you need to put them together(3 and 4)

After all, bilingual subtitles are the mainstream:)

Possibly in some territories, but first time I've encountered them in relation to Lyrics though. I think I would have expected Lyrics to display the actual words that you are currently listening to, so you can follow along. Otherwise you are getting more into subtitles - like you get for films where you can manually select English, French, German, Italian, or Spanish if you don't speak the language that a film was made in.

I guess what you are asking for could become an offshoot of an earlier request for multiple locations to be recognised for a single lyric line (such as to show the chorus multiple times in the song without re-adding the text into the file again). If Max does implement that, then once all the lines are expanded to provide their varying timecode positions, any subsequent sorting process would put any lines that have the same timecodes next to each other, which would mean they could also be displayed together.

Sorry, my words are not accurate😂 in fact, I hope it is good to be like this. At the same time, two languages are highlighted.

So is that block of white text one language or two? Is that what you are wanting to see, or what is currently shown? Sorry, but as a boring "26-letters is sufficient" kind of guy, such images don't translate very well via Google. :)

two, Japanese and Chinese. It's currently shown, because I modified the lyrics file to put Japanese and Chinese togetherScreenshot_20230121_234846_bin_mt_plus.thumb.jpg.33231d814d9ec4c58a276ec43cb0f958.jpg

But once you separate them, like thisScreenshot_20230121_235647_bin_mt_plus.thumb.jpg.a44a5b7c21d5ea86f7dc229a949a2053.jpg

Lyrics will only display Chinese. So I hope this kind of lyrics can be like the above,Able to display two languagesScreenshot_20230122_081332_com.maxmpz.audioplayer.thumb.jpg.dd233d0f981a132b1108acd1d9f8e010.jpg

Hello
First of all, I'd like to say thanks for another great update. I really like the small detail added in this update from the UI, and also the new lyrics feature. I've been playing with it for the whole day LOL.

I just learned this LRC thing today, so i have a couple of questions and maybe someone can fill me in regarding this feature. I've been trying to make the app detects the LRC file i made detailed and apparently it wouldn't detect the LRC file if its not in the same folder as the music file (.mp3, .flac etc). My questions are:

  1. Do I have to put every LRC file in the according music file location? If yes, is it possible to just put some LRC files in one folder and let the app detects it through the info rmation provided in the LRC files?
  2. Any consideration on adding support for sub-lyrics? Sub lyrics can be used for multilingual purpose, like the one you see on Musixmatch (3rd party lyrics app)

if you don't really understand by what i meant by sub-lyrics, here's an image as an example (i cant describe it properly through text). Side-to-side comparison Poweramp and Musixmatch.
Untitled-1.thumb.png.a7f3af1c928423f303eb01d1bc010bf4.png

I haven't really tried using .lrc outside Poweramp (I'd like to try it on other software like foobar) so I'm kinda inexperienced regarding this topic. I'd like to make other suggestion or feedback if i understand it enough, so for now i guess this just it

@JasonJasu LRC files are sidecar files that need to be in the same folder and with the same base name as the accompanying audio file. Or you can embed the text content directly into the actual audio file using ID3 or Vorbis tags to make it more portable.

There has been some discussion already in this thread over the past few hours (see @UFOGO2 conversation) about the possibility of supporting multiple lyric sessions within one text file - such as alternate language variants - but currently the initial implementation simply expects a series of sequential lines (using incrementing timecodes in the form "[mm:ss.nn]") at the start of each line to indicate when the next line should be displayed.

As there is no formal spec though, there have been a number of ad hoc variants introduced by different apps in the wild (such as the discussion to which you refer above) which may or may not be viable to support in the future.

@andrewilley Let's not talk about that,When can the sampling rate be adaptive?or rather will they to make it

Looks fine to me, both with manual scrolling and automatic movement during playback. What's not going well for you?

I especially love the lovely subtle animation as the newly sung lines scroll automatically, while the rest of the text below springs to "catch up" line by line.
