Last few lines is me spamming the power button. This is after disconnected from the headunit. I've almost every setting I could navigate to, but nothing works. Android Auto folks don't believe me or keep sending me the same generic advice so maybe here will help

I have the same problem since June 2022.  In March 2022, I updated to Android 10 from Android 9 on my OnePlus 5T and a couple months later, this issue drives me crazy.  I have reached out to Poweramp and Maksim did reply to me, but after my last explanation of what is going on in the log I sent versus what I did on the phone, I haven't received any response.

I am slightly convinced that this has something to do with the Android OS, but one would think it would happen to everyone from Android 10 up.

Here's something to test to see if it works:  when you're experiencing the problem, open up Poweramp, go to Settings, then Misc, and then press Restore Defaults button (take note of your settings first if you have anything customized on this page... I do not).  Doing this makes it function correctly again until I connect Android Auto.

Hopefully we can get some light shed on this topic sometime soon.  No other audio player has this issue for me.

Best,

Mike

I've experienced a similar issue with Poweramp over the past year. It appears that Wireless Android auto emulates a USB c connection which allows it to transmit the audio signals over Wi-Fi instead of Bluetooth for better audio quality.  Sometimes, this process sticks which causes the USB DAC disconnect signal to be sent every time you turn your screen off.  Poweramp doesn't seem to pay attention to which connection is disconnected for the 'Pause on headset disconnect' so even if you're using Bluetooth and it sees a USB DAC disconnect it will pause the audio. If there was a way to program in some form of intent that basically says, 'if audio is going through Bluetooth, only pause when Bluetooth is disconnected' it could fix this issue.  Hope the team looks into it, love this audio player but it's the only one that experiences this issue. For now, turning off 'pause on headset disconnect' has fixed the issue, but I have to manually pause music when I take my headset off or I'll get blasted by music out of my phone speaker.

So the issue seems to be that if there is more than one headset connected, disconnecting any of them (even when not currently being used as the primary output method by Android) will cause playback to stop via the 'Pause on Headset Disconnect' feature. If so, you should see confirmation of that in PA Settings=>Headset/Bluetooth=>Last Processed Commands.

It might also be worth a look at the 'Audio Info' display during playback - does the final Output Device line show the correct device which you are currently listening to?

As Max said above though, please could you send him a logfile when this issue occurs.

@andrewilley headset disconnections sends a separate message, which doesn't contain any info about the device (ACTION_AUDIO_BECOMING_NOISY). It's basically Android OS asking to pause/stop everything immediately - no reason given. And generally we don't want to ignore this. In the OP user case it may be something else - I can investigate if I have a log.

I never had this issue on my Galaxy S9; it began when I switched to a Pixel 5. Now I have a Motorola Razr, which also has the issue. Maybe it has something to do with Samsung's implementation of Android, I don't really know.

What happens on your device, as there have been a few variations mentioned in this thread. Please register on the site to post in future.
