Loud whistle/ringing sound in Poweramp EQ

So I have been having a problem with Poweramp EQ. On a few occasions when I listen to music (Spotify), I would switch to another app like Instagram, play a story or vid and this loud sound would blast threw my earbuds. It's so loud I thought it would blow my eardrums or break my earbuds. There was one time the whole bus heard the noise. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it doesn't solve the problem it just comes back. I'm thinking about completely uninstalling it.

 

Anyway to solve it?
