James007
Hi, From the last two to three updates, I'm facing a peculiar issue regarding album art. If album art is of some odd dimension for e.g. 1230x1230 or say 749x749, Poweramp will automatically convert them to 600x600. This happens only when I turn 24-bit RGB option on. Previously, if I had turned on the option "High Resolution" (Higher downloaded album art resolution) in the album art settings, the album art resolution would work fine i.e. it will appear as it is 1230x1230 or 749x749. Also when you long press on album art in the main player screen and click on album art, you get to choose album art from internet. It also displays your embedded album art resolution. Previously if I had turned on the option "High Resolution" (Higher downloaded album art resolution) in the album art settings, the check mark of High resolution would be checked already but now I have to check it for every album art. I don't know if its happening with me only or with all. Please remove this bug. I am using latest released Poweramp version build 934-939 and using Nokia 6 android. Please also let me know if you need screenshots or if this is an already existing bug. Regards,

andrewilley
Can't see this on my device (Samsung A70, Android 11, PA build 939). e.g. 1448x1448 embedded artwork lists as such in Album Art selector screen, and it seems decent enough resolution when displayed on the player screen. High-res selector remains ticked. Nokia 6 is an older phone now, so could be memory issues. Andre
GeilerHeinz
I experience strange behaviour with album art resolution in the last time too. For example the in-folder image of the album in the following screenshot has an original resolution of 1200x1200, but after long pressing on album art in main player the album art selection menu shows the image with an resolution of 600x600. I can't remember that it was like that before. In settings Use 24-bit RGB and Increase Resolution are checked. My devices are Samsung A52 5G, Android 12 and Lenovo Tab TB-8705F, Android 10, both with PA build 939. Regards
andrewilley
@GeilerHeinz What is the actual resolution of the image file located in that folder, the one that is showing as 600x600. Is there only one image file in that folder? Andre
GeilerHeinz
Yes, there's only one image in the folder, which has a resolution of 1200x1200. Regards
James007
I am facing this exact issue. When I use 24 bit RGB, resolution drops. It is definitely a bug. Most of my album art is of 1200x1200. Still Poweramp by default picks 600x600 no matter if you have checked "high resolution album art" setting. GeilerHeinz
It seems like not every album on my devices is affected. Although I can't identify any regularity when album art is shown with correct resolution and when it isn't, but on both devices it's the same album artworks which show the differences. Am I right that the folders under Android/data/com.maxmpz.audioplayer/files are cleared if deleting PA's image cache? I don't want to test this. Correct, deleting the album cache does exactly that. You can always back up the files to somewhere else first though (either manually or using PA's Export Settings/Data feature) and copy them back again later after you've done any testing that you want. James007
@GeilerHeinz I believe there are two aspects to this problem; 1. Poweramp ain't showing the full resolution of odd resolution album art i.e. 1230x1230 or say 1435x1435. These resolutions are automatically being reverted to 600x600 unless specifically selected by long pressing album art and check marking high resolution. Please confirm that the album art with resolution 1200x1200 will be showing correctly i.e. their full resolution will be showing in Poweramp. 2. Second problem is that I think there is definitely a bug. That's why when you long press album art, high resolution box is not check marked although high resolution embedded album art option is already selected in album art settings. maxmp
@James007 please send the example image from your folder (or track, if this is an embedded cover) for tests - gpmaxmpz@gmail.com As for high resolution checkbox, latest Poweramp builds (939) synchronize this checkbox with the settings (previously this was a “recommended” value based on screen resolution and memory available). Thanks!

No, on my devices there are album artworks with odd resolution e.g. 709x709 too (see screenshot). And like in my previous example there are images with an original resolution of 1200x1200, which in the album art selection menu are shown with an resolution of 600x600.
