Locsta
Okay so I never used to have a problem with this on prior devices but now I need help. I need help finding an aio codec for my phone so I can actually play some music. Any help would be greatly appreciated. andrewilley
Poweramp does not require specific codecs, it uses ffmpeg to decode music. That should work for all normal devices, and the sound is output via whichever of the standard Android methods you select (OpenSL ES, AudioTrack, AAudio, etc). Locsta
So do I have to download ffmpeg? & if so, where do I download it? Link to comment https://forum.powerampapp.com/topic/23368-audio-codec-help/#findComment-107580 Share on other sites
6b6561
@Locsta are you by any chance looking for help for Mx Player Aio? This forum is for Poweramp which as far as I know has all codecs embedded. andrewilley
The ffmpeg decoder is built into Poweramp, there is nothing extra to download. Are you having problems playing some particular file format? As @6b6561 has said, I too wonder if you are talking about MX Player which uses external codec packs to support video formats which would otherwise require licences to be paid for their core product. As Poweramp is an audio not a video player, the issue does not arise here. andrewilley
What device? Do your files scan into the Library OK but not play? What happens when you try to play one? What audio output mode? Locsta
Samsung Galaxy J7. All my files are there, scanned fine. It just says failed to play file. Audio output is - OpenSL ES output. andrewilley
Try a FULL Rescan in Settings=>Library, it sounds like the scanned files might be logged as the wrong paths (unless they are all faulty anyway).
