Okay so I never used to have a problem with this on prior devices but now I need help. I need help finding an aio codec for my phone so I can actually play some music. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Poweramp does not require specific codecs, it uses ffmpeg to decode music. That should work for all normal devices, and the sound is output via whichever of the standard Android methods you select (OpenSL ES, AudioTrack, AAudio, etc).

The ffmpeg decoder is built into Poweramp, there is nothing extra to download. Are you having problems playing some particular file format?

As @6b6561 has said, I too wonder if you are talking about MX Player which uses external codec packs to support video formats which would otherwise require licences to be paid for their core product. As Poweramp is an audio not a video player, the issue does not arise here.
