Overall I don't know how to use this function. Help me?

Go into the Library > Streams view and tap [menu] > Add URL. Type in the HTTP web address of the streaming audio service that you wish to listen to, which will be added to the Streams list.

You can also put a number of these URLs into an M3U Playlist file if you like, making it easier to edit and build up a collection externally in a text editor.

As an example, here is my playlist file for BBC UK Radio Stations:
