How to stop autoplaying the track when browsing?

I'll try and describe what I mean. I am listening for example to Happy by Pharrell Williams. I go to the album list and pick the Iron Man 2 soundtrack by AC/DC. I tap on Shoot to Thrill and it starts playing. How do I stop it doing that? I want it to only start playing when I press on the play button.

It even restarts the track when I press the back button and then reselect the track, I don't want it to do that either.

Surely there is a way to turn this feature off?

Don't tap on a track if you dont want to listen to it, that is the main way to start playback in PA.

The previous version of Poweramp didn't exhibit this behavior. I know that rolling back to the previous version would stop the issue but that seems a somewhat extreme solution to the issue.

I want a track to start playing when I press the play button and not just when viewing it. Was that really removed in the current version?

Settings>Library>Lists>Click Restarts Track = If already playing, pressing will keep playing (but may affect your current queue/now playing category)

Settings>Library>Lists>List Item Click Action = Choose to 1) Play and switch to Now Playing, 2) Play and stay in the current list, or 3) Enqueue the track and stay in the list.

Poweramp has always worked like that by default, right back to v2 some 10+ years ago. Tapping on a track starts playback, that is how PA works. The extra play and shuffle buttons at the top of lists are fairly new additions.

As mentioned above, you can set it so clicking on the current track does not restart it, but instead lets it continue where it is already playing.

You can also change the Click (tap) Action to enqueue the new song rather than start it playing immediately (meaning the current song or album will be finished before the queued item starts).
