Shuffles only first folder in hierarchy

Option already was on. So I described the behaviour.

With that option OFF: it plays always ONE same folder from somewhere in the middle of the folder structure (Klassik/Rautavaara/Cantus Arcticus/).

The only randomness is in which of the 3 tracks it picks.

I solved it. Folders were added to the library not by choosing their parent folder, but individually.

I now added them to library via their common parent dir, now it works as expected.

EDIT Except, with the following option OFF, it still plays from one single folder. "Shuffle All Songs in Folder Hierarchy."

That's the point of Shuffle All Songs in Folder Hierarchy.

With it off, PA will choose one folder at random and then plays all of its tracks shuffled, then it choose a new folder and plays that shuffled, etc.

With it on, PA will keep picking randomly from any of the subfolders until it has played everything in all of the subfolders.

Interesting point about the Music Folders choices. Yes, you would normally be best to simply select the top level and let PA deal with crawling through the subfolders.

I have switched off both options "Shuffle all songs in Folder hierarchy" and "Shuffle Category Songs".

When I click on the shuffle button in the "Folders Hierarchy" view PA shows "Shuffle Songs and categories" but it doesn't do it, it crawls through all folders and subfolders.

That's exactly what I want from PA. 😉

I see it now. The confusing part is, if you continuously tap the shuffle button, it always uses the same folder, only start track differs.

Picked folders on the same level (and not parent) simply because of unwanted folders on same level.
