Enabling Poweramp equalizer to work with Poweramp and other media players

I'm unable to use Poweramp equalizer with Poweramp, VLC and retro player among other media players on android including youtube, youtube music, spotify, Mixcloud, SoundCloud etc. 

This is after enabling MusicFX and disabling DVC on Poweramp. It doesn't show up on the 'Known Players' section in the Poweramp equalizer app.

Also no other media player shows up on the 'Known Players' section in the Poweramp equalizer app.

My setup:

Poweramp equalizer (trial version) build 898

Poweramp full version build 905

VLC 3.3.4

Android 10

@andrewilley Is it necessary to use ADB to allow PA to work with PA-EQ?

PA is not showing on the 'known players' list.

My setup:

PA build number = 905

PA-EQ build number = 898

Device model = Tecno KB8

Android version = 10

Custom ROM = HiOS v6.0.0 (Q-P31-191101)

If you enable MusicFX in the normal Poweramp equaliser screen, the external EQ app should be able to detect and use it. Make sure you only have DVC enabled in one app or the other though, if you try to enable it on both you'll have problems.

I have enabled MusicFX in the normal Poweramp equalizer screen and also in Poweramp audio settings. I have DVC disabled in Poweramp and enabled in Poweramp equalizer. 

Poweramp still doesn't appear in known players section.

@Big Ndets And this is with Advanced Player Tracking (ADB DUMP permission) enabled? While it's not exactly ideal to have both EQs running together, it ought to be possible to force it.

ADB DUMP permission is not enabled. Clicking on it pastes some text to clipboard.

I was having the exact same issue, but enabling musicfx in both settings as well in the mais equalizer tab allowmed PA to bem recognized.

 

Im using a Huawei p30 pro with PA OpenES Hi-res and wh-1000xm3 with ldac

Yes, download either the Poweramp Music Player app or the Poweramp Equalizer app from the Play Store or from the website Download area at the top of the page here.

Poweramp equalizer  cannot detect Poweramp player too

 

I have enabled musicfx and disabled dvc in Poweramp player

and granted dump permission too.

 

ps foobar2000 player could be detected by Poweramp equalizer

@takayo If MusicFX is turned on in the second page of the Equalizer screen in Poweramp (not only enabled in the Settings menu, which I agree can seem a little confusing) then you should be able to see it in the PA-EQ 'Known Players' menu. The ADB dump permission should not be required for PA, as activating the MusicFX switch is sufficient.

This is on my Samsung Galaxy A54 5G with Android 14, so a very similar device to yours:
