davidxjonas
Can you please add the Stereo expander from the Poweramp app to the Poweramp equalizer app? Besides that I always asked why the sound of the equalizer doesn't sound like Poweramp. The sound of Poweramp is much richer in sound in everything. I agree, it would be a nice feature to have. 😄 On 5/4/2021 at 8:01 PM, davidxjonas said: Besides that I always asked why the sound of the equalizer doesn't sound like Poweramp. It's also why doesn't want to add a reverb feature. Also, @andrewilley would it be possible to make a separate bug report/feature request section for PEQ app? EQ suggestions and bug reports seem to get lost in here. In my opinion, it would be easier to keep track of them with a seperate dedicated forum section. 😁

I had wondered about that myself, I'll set one up. The Release threads are fine, but old stuff gets lost once a new thread is started. maxmp
@davidxjonas I can get results very close to Poweramp (player) in Equalizer, but please note: - the actual resulting frequency response will be a bit different just due to completely different (both technically and in math behind those) filters (player uses set of IIR filters, equalizer uses FFT based FIR implementation) - Equalizer has a bit more accurate gain control on high band amplification levels (Smooth Equalizer/Tone Gains option is more pronounced) to avoid overloads - Equalizer strictly follows devices volume curve, while Poweramp has AOSP volume curve on all devices (that differs e.g. from Samsungs curve) - Non-dvc mode is limited in headroom - Android 9 implementation is buggy around basses (use Bass tone instead of 20-100 equalizer bands) As for OP question regarding stereo expansion, unfortunately the current Android implementation (that Equalizer can use) is very low quality - this is something from Android 2.x era. The FFT IIR equalizer part is the new Android (9, improved in 10) component.

Done, and I've moved a couple of posts to seed the new subforums. I did a bit of a general shuffle round of the other subforums too, hope the changes make sense (I can move stuff back if people prefer). Still trying to decide whether Skins & Viz should be in the Misc section though, as it kinda covers both apps. Andre
