Ozzyy
Accidentally switched on this option. Tracks started playing from the middle, turned it off and they continue playing from the middle. Tried restarting app, phone, it doesn't help. App v3 build 884. Android 10, OnePlus 5t phone. Please help 🙏

Ozzyy
This feature would be useful if there was option "apply for tracks longer than..." Otherwise it is completely horrible and indeed has a bug. Still, Poweramp is the best app for me.
andrewilley
There are two options to control this, one is global (and duration based) and one is for all songs in a given category. The global setting is duration based, and can be found in Settings > Library > 'Store/Restore Per Track Progress'. This turns the feature on or off, and you can also adjust the song duration needed for the feature to kick in with 'Track Duration for Per Track Progress'. You can also enable this for all songs in certain listening categories - e.g. Folders or Playlists - by tapping the three-dots menu icon in the songs list, select List Options, and tick 'Per Track Progress'. The feature will then be enabled for that specific folder. Andre
Ozzyy
Andre, my apologize and thanks for clarification. I see now the option to select track duration. But still there is a bug, you cannot switch it off. Maybe the bug appears only for the tracks played while the option was on.
andrewilley
You cannot switch off the internal function to store last played positions in the database, but you can definitely turn off the restore feature so any internally saved data is irrelevant to you. For the global (duration based) setting, turn off 'Store/Restore Per Track Progress' in Settings > Library: For Folders/Playlists, use the three-dots menu at the top of any given song list, select List Options, and untick Per Track Progress. This restore function is used for all songs within an individual folder or a specific playlist, so it needs to be enabled/disabled for each one, it's not a global setting: Andre
Ozzyy
Andre, I did exactly as you described and it somehow didn't work first time. I tried to reproduce the problem but it didn't repeat. Maybe because I restored all settings to default or maybe because I'm an idiot. Sorry for wasting your time 😔
andrewilley
May have just missed a folder perhaps? Glad it's working now anyway. Andre
andrewilley
By the way @maxmp , there's a minor issue in that if you delete all of the contents of a folder before adding any new stuff back in, the folder's Per Track Progress setting is reset when it becomes temporarily empty. For example, I have a folder that contains a weekly downloaded podcast, and as the shows can be up to 2 hours long I have the Per Track Progress mode enabled for that location. I delete each old podcast after listening, and usually there's a week or two backlog in the folder. However sometimes I may end up listening to the last one and delete it before next week's show gets downloaded, which leaves the folder temporarily empty and the folder settings are cleared. Is there any way that folder List Options could be retained as long as the physical folder still exists, even if it is temporarily empty? Thanks. maxmp
@andrewilley Poweramp doesn’t keep empty folders (or other categories) in the DB, that means the folder attributes are lost:-(
andrewilley
It's probably not a common issue, but I guess other people might have similarly transient folders such as a Download location, radio shows, etc. I found the issue by accident, when a podcast I had been listening to earlier unexpectedly did not return to the same location, and I had to navigate my way to about an hour in while driving. Ozzyy
Andre, I didn't touch per folder settings. Upgraded to Android 10 recently, getting bugs with fonts and force dark mode but I think it has no effect on Poweramp.

maxmp
@andrewilley this woks only if given folder has some tracks (either directly or indirectly - in child subfolders).
andrewilley
I still don't quite understand that. In Folders Hierarchy mode, any folder that contains subfolders but no other music has to be shown anyway - whether or not it also contains a folder.jpg image - as you can't drill down to its subfolders any other way. But in plain flattened Folders mode, a folder name that contains only subfolders (no music) never gets shown by name at all, regardless of whether there's a folder.jpg image within it.
