pedjapaok
Well, as the title suggests, I tried to cast some music to my receiver but there was no cast button visible. I enabled the button both to main screen and main menu. I can see the cast option, greyed out on my main menu. Why can't I use it? I use an oneplus 7T and I cast mostly videos all the time. andrewilley
It means that PA can't see any compatible Chromecast audio devices on your local network for some reason. You could try removing and then setting the device up again? Andre

You need to make sure your phone is using WiFi and connected to the same network your other device is on as well.
pedjapaok
Thank you for your answers. I tried to install and uninstall multiple times. Still the same. The strange thing is that I tried with another phone (samsung note4 ) and the problem is the exactly the same. The wifi seems to be ok cause I use other programs and casting works perfectly fine. It's very frustrating.
andrewilley
So on your other device too, other apps can cast audio but Poweramp can't? And this is for apps casting local files (audio from that device's storage) rather than casting online content which streams directly to the Chromecast once the session has been triggered. pedjapaok
yes , I have the same exactly problem on both of my devices. I can cast my stored music with other apps but not with Poweramp. And I prefer Poweramp. Is this the first time this is happening? maybe is my router?
andrewilley
As you can't even start casting at all (the device is not in the menu) we can't check PA's Outputs Log. And you have tried disconnecting the device from the network (as in unparing it) and then re-installing it? Andre
pedjapaok
yes, I've tried everything. I dont know if this is helpful but sometimes when I exit from settings and return to main screen , the cast button appears for half a second and the it disappears immediately. pedjapaok
I'm terribly sorry . I just realised that Poweramp can cast music only to google devices. I was trying to cast to my Denon AVR or even maybe my TV. Thank you anyway.
andrewilley
Ah, that would be the problem then. Yes, PA can currently only cast to Chromecast units or compatible receivers - e.g. my Onkyo receiver has a built-in Chromecast emulator. pedjapaok
Out of curiosity....I reconnected an old xiaomi mi box and Poweramp recognises it. I guess all of my other equipment is not compatible!!! Mystery solved! Thank you!
