Audio Stuttering on Volume Change

Recommended Posts

Recently, out of the blue (I think after the most recent Android update) the music I play from Poweramp stutters/crackles when I increase the volume. This happens especially if my phone is locked.

I tried setting my audio buffers to high but that hasn't fixed it.

Also, this only happens with Poweramp; Spotify/Google Play Music both work perfectly.

Specs:

  • Poweramp build: v3-build-882-uni [882009-7a32587c], 64-bit, Full Version
  • Device: OnePlus5
  • Android version: 10

Does it happen with normal playback, or high-res (or both)?

Andre

Hi Andre; might be a dumb question but how do I find that out?

While you are listening to music, go to Settings > Audio > Audio Info. Look for the text shown under 'Output'.

Andre

That is regular output. You could try one of the other options in Settings > Audio > Output - e.g. try going in to AudioTrack or Hi-Res and enabling one of those for the Wired Headset output.

You. Are. A. God. Thank you so much! Turning it to Hi-Res worked perfectly (at least so far).

If the problem persists I'll let you know, but with my usual testing where the problem would normally appear, nothing yet. Cheers!
