zeratul
my two bits : it works (mostly) with lyrics 'utf-8 with BOM'. with 'utf-8' it gives 'lyrics charset not supported'. sadly most lyrics I found using crintsoft minilyrics are in utf-8, so manually convert to utf-8 with BOM. mostly it works OK. if only it can use 'utf-8' directly 🙄

Jimmy283
I installed the plug-in yesterday in my XiaoMi 11 (Android 12) and encountered the exactly same problem reported by Mandolo5758 last year. Is there a solution?
andrewilley
@Jimmy283 The author of this third-party plugin has not been active on these forums for more than 18 months (which would probably have been pre Android 12) so not something that is likely to be addressed any time soon if it's an Android version issue. Their GitHub page for the plugin is: https://github.com/Rachel030219/Poweramp-LRC-Plugin . Improving native core support for synced LRC files is something that is on the radar for the main Poweramp app in the not too distant future though. Jimmy283
@andrewilley Thanks for your notification. Hope Poweramp will have the function of showing synced lyrics soon.
andrewilley
Please try the newly released build 948, which now provides improved lyric support including LRC files and synced lyrics. Andre

Kazi Duke
@maxmp Hi, I have been using Poweramp for the last 2 years. One feature I feel to be very important is to identify lyrics from base folder or a separate folder other than the music folder itself. I have copied all my lyrics files from my pc and pasted in a folder called Lyrics inside the Music folder of my phone. But Poweramp will not recognize this as I need to put the files inside each album folder which is very difficult. Is it possible to get this feature? Thanks, Kazi
andrewilley
@Kazi Duke Poweramp will recognise LRC files from other locations, as long as the folder you choose is set up as scannable in the Music Folders list. The filenames need to match, and/or any ID tags at the start of the LRC's synced data must exactly match with the song tags (e.g. title, artist, duration). TOMI 17
@Rachel Tang could you know what's wrong with my file because it doesn't work on my device samsung j7 prime and also my music file is FLAC so I can't add the file 02. The Chainsmokers - High (Explicit).lrc
andrewilley
@TOMI 17 The plugin discussed in this thread is no longer needed, Poweramp supports lyrics natively now (as from build 948 onward). The LRC file seems OK though, apart from a few Unicode U+2005 thin-space characters, which seem to serve no particular purpose. The words are also truncated before the end of the song. It's also worth checking that the FLAC audio file duration correctly matches the length quoted in the LRC file (3'16") as the regular song is only 2'55" long (the online video version is 3'16" though as it has a longer playout). If a length is quoted in the LRC file, PA will validate it against the actual audio content to make sure to was created for this version of the song.
