With the headphone and some Bluetooth outputs, having a variable level controlled by the volume rockers or software slider is prefered. But with other devices, especially USB DAC or car Bluetooth players, it is ideal to set one volume level and have that set each time it is connected. This was not such a big deal in my devices prior to Android Pie, but now there is some "safety" feature that reduces the volume every time PA is started, and requires manually turning the volume back up when I plug it into my car system. If there is a hard "lock" feature that could be assigned by device, that would be ideal. It would need to be selectable on/off to satisfy all users I think. I'm getting the same problem, and yes it's really annoying. Everything else (headset, on-device speaker) remembers their previous settings, but whenever I connect to the car the output level from the phone gets reset to about 50% and I need to turn it back up to 100% (so I can then manage the actual listening level via the car controls). Andre I am using a 24bit/96kHz USB-DAC with power, so I get the benefit of charging and better quality audio input (not Bluetooth). So I can't use steering wheels controls for the tracks, but at least the volume was working. Now i have to adjust audio each time at start-up. Plus Android occasionally reduces the volume after a set period of time (I think it is every 20 hours of playback) again requiring a manual volume adjustment to restore the levels. But this is also a good reason why swipe controls are beneficial. Adding full functionality back for user-selectable functions for the 6 or 7 gestures (up/down/left/right/tap/double tap/tap-hold) would be fantastic (but already requested previously). BTW - this does make a huge difference for audio versus Bluetooth if anyone else is interested. GB I am using build 845 as of today, and had a very difficult volume problem to deal with. As usual, when I plug in my USB DAC that provides direct audio input to my car radio, the high volume indicator warning appeared, and lowered it to around 67%. However the actual volume was much lower, closer to what would be about the 10% level. And no matter how high I set it afterwards with the volume buttons or the volume control in the audio settings, the actual volume wouldn't increase at all, even though the volume dial indicated as much as 100%. I tried resetting all of my audio settings, I disabled/enabled DVC, I even tried turning off the volume panel and resetting the levels setting as well. The speaker and headphone outputs seemed fine, it was just the USB audio. I went so far as to save my settings and uninstall PA, then download and reinstall 845 with the same results.😡 After all this, I ended up trying the stock audio player. The volume was also very low, but when I used the volume button to increase it, there was another new warning message that appeared asking if I wanted to "Raise" the volume. When I clicked yes, the volume then increased as normal and expected in the stock app. Going back to Poweramp, the volume now worked again after increasing it with both the volume knob and volume buttons. I imported my saved settings, and all was working as expected. So the issue was not specific to Poweramp, but rather with the really annoying Android Pie handling of volume. I believe this was related to the warning after many hours of high level playback (20 hours?). But I have been using Poweramp for a very long time, typically 3-4 hours per day at least. This is the first time I have seen this particular warning. More frustrating though was the fact that the actual warning did not pop up while in Poweramp, the app that was live when the volume limit kicked in. @maxmp I don't know if there is anything that you are able to do with PA that can avoid this in the future. But if the "locked" volume setting that is planned can help, that would be much appreciated. This was a solid hour I spent trying to resolve the issue. And thanks Google. I'm a big boy, I think I can handle deciding on what volume levels I want to set without your intervention. Your efforts to constantly reduce the volume of my audio player are not appreciated. So i want to set pa equalizer for earphone to two condition. One is (with earphone) for mp3 or other than m4a albums, and one for (with earphone) for m4a album (both use earphone, but only different in preamp level). I save my eq setting, with two names for that needed. But only one can be use for earphone, and the other one lost his earphone setting (only preamp level & the other is saved, but the earphone choice can be saved. It always to dechoose the earphone, in bluetooth earphone usb speakerphone choice). So basically, i only can save one setting only, that use earphone. Can't save two setting that both use earphone. Any help and, or, advice to be able to save it for that two condition (different in preamp level only) ? (Poweramp ver 3 build 847, on Android 8.1.0) Thank you. Min Sik Posted October 28, 2019 Share Posted October 28, 2019 I use bluetooth volume pro which allows setting different bluetooth devices to different settings and having those settings load when the bluetooth device is connected automatically. I use medium volume on loudspeaker and maximum output on car bluetooth connection and use the car volume control to change as i drive along. Seems to work well for me. However I experienced this problem of the volume resetting (in my case to 42% on a Moto G Power, Android 10). I occurs when the phone detects any one of my BT receivers and Poweramp brings up the custom profile for that unit. In most cases I want the apps volume to be up around 90-100% and kept setting it, then saving settings. Next connect to that BT device and it would be back at 42%. I found the following article about disabling Absolute Volume in the Android settings.
