dwang040
Can you please describe what you mean by reset? Like, does the volume decrease when you turn off the phone screen, does the volume reset after x minutes? What phone are you using? Not sure if this is related but I do believe that certain countries require volume warnings and certain phone models will follow those laws. For me, I have a Sony Xperia, and I know that it like to randomly turn down the volume because of these volume restriction laws (but a pop up also shows telling me that the volume is too loud). Found this on a Sony forum: Because of an European standard EN called 50332-2 and some of the features for this standard are: The maximum output from the PMP and headphones must not be greater than 100 dB. *The user must be actively warned if the sound pressure level exceeds 85 dB for more than 20 hours per week. On Xperia devices, a pop-up warning will appear on the screen.
julien381
Thanks for your reply, i am using Poweramp software with android car multimedia head unit and when i open the software master volume starts with level 87 (diagonal clock shape control) and when i turned up to the max-100 after 3 seconds it just reverts to the 87 default level. I think this is the master vol level control for the app but i do not understand why behave like this. Default 87 level is very low when compared to the other players that's why i tried to turn up to the max level.
marek16
I have another volume level bug - when I connect wired headphones, Poweramp (latest paid beta) sets "Ringtone" volume (instead of "Media") to maximum. This is contingent upon the setting DVC=on (output is the experimental hi-res audio). When I turn DVC off or uninstall Poweramp, the issue stops. This was driving me crazy for almost a year before I pinpointed the cause, because it was always followed by a loud explosion of sound whenever someone called me. Device is Honor view 10, latest Android 9. I attach a screenshot of sound settings to give you an idea how they look like on my device (- i dunno if this is same for all of android 9, or some honor specialty). PLEASE, fix this
maxmp
@marek16 this is huawei firmware issue happening for Hi-res + DVC: ringtone volume also has effect on media volume. Standard definition outputs or DVC disabled modes have no such issue.
marek16
okay, I contacted Czech Honor with the description and a link to this thread. Hopefully they will fix it

My guess would be the way the app is interacting with the unit, it may be overriding the volume or something. Being that it only happens with Poweramp, it would be safe to assume it could just be a compatibility issue. Has this happened with previous versions? julien381
There wasn't any issue related to volume on pa v2, so i have to switch and try other versions, thanks.
elabjer
I'm experiencing the same on my Android HU - system volume is set at 87% and if I raise it to 100%, it automatically drops back to 87% approx 3s later.. I tried enabling/disabling all possible audio-related options to no avail. Has anyone figured out how to mitigate this?
andrewilley
@elabjer I assume you have got PA installed directly on the head unit, rather than playing from a phone via Bluetooth or Android Auto? Have you tried enabling/disabling DVC, and/or a different output method in Settings > Audio > Outputs? If this issue only happens when PA is running, try sending a logfile just after it next occurs, in case there is something that PA is doing that is causing this. (Settings > Get Support > Send Log > email to gpmaxmpz at gmail.com). Andre
