Folder View List Option by Artist and not Album?

I like to sort by folder view because I have a lot of compilation albums. When I change the list option to "by name" it only organizes by album title. Is there a way to change this to organize by artist?

In Folders view the whole point is to sort by the folder name (or by the full path, which makes more sense). There is no concept of album or artist at that level, otherwise you'd use the Artists or Albums categories rather than folders. Once you've drilled down to the songs level (i.e. no more sub-folders to go down) there are a few more options though.
