solved "Unknown artist"/"Unknown album" even though files have tags. Missing tags also keep changing

When you view Info/Tags, the embedded data is read directly from the audio file at the moment. However the general Album/Artist/etc details that you see for the song in Category lists are displayed from previously cached information already scanned into Poweramp's music database. If you then edit the current tags and save them back to the audio file, that action will update the music database with the new tags for that file, so you will then see the info in Category lists again.

Have you tried to do a FULL Rescan in Settings=>Library? That should force the embedded data to be re-read from all of your music files, and the database will be rebuilt from scratch.

If that still does not work, it is always the same files that don't show the Title/Artist/Album info, or does it vary? If it's the same files, are they located in the same part of your devices storage? If they seem randomly located, is there anything else in common about them? Could you upload a few samples for checking?
