bluetooth bluetooth controls don't work on Garmin vivoactive 3 smartwatch

Since the update to Poweramp v3 (build 808-play) I cannot control the music from my Garmin vivoactive 3 smartwatch (play/pause or previous/next track). I can control other music apps like YouTube, Spotify from the watch.

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S8+ on Android 8.0.0

I can control Poweramp from my car's Bluetooth though(previous/next track).

I'm having the same issue on my Pebble Time Steel. The older versions of Poweramp supported the buttons like pausing and skipping. Now, I can only see the song playing, but Poweramp is completely unresponsive to the inputs. I'm sure there's a way to change it.
