track order of albums destroyed on reindexing

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I copy AAC files (digitized from LPs) to my Droid 2. The program I use to digitize, Audacity 1.3, puts track numbers on the files (xx-Track Title). When the files are first copied to the Droid, Poweramp plays the albums in track order. But then later on, the track order disappears and the songs are listed in alphabetical order - both in Library and Folder views. The track numbers are still there on the filenames (when viewed in Windows Explorer when the Droid is attached via USB cable).

What is going on? Is there some OS-level function that messes this up? Because I get the same problem with the native Android music player.

Thanks for any help.

- bill.

Hi,

something on your phone modifies android system media library (obviously, track number tag entry is changed). This can be syncing apps, some other players (esp. with mass tag edit/sync functionality). PowerAMP doesn't do that - it doesn't write to media library (expect playlists).

Thanks!
