Peter222
When i click on a .mp3 file in my file-manger allways an adroid music player opens and plays the music. I didnt find any way to set Poweramp as standard music player. Android doesnt ask me, which player i like to use. I tried: settings/apps/Poweramp. "fix as standard" is gray and cant be used. What else can i do to set Poweramp as standard-app for audio files? Galaxy A5 (2017), Android 8.0.
flyingdutchman
Depending on your android version it may be slightly different but it is usually found with Settings, Apps, Default apps. You may have to check for options on the overflow menu (also known as hamburger) on the top right.
Peter222
When i open "default apps", "set as default", i find a list of apps, but Poweramp is not in the list.
flyingdutchman
Can you reset all apps? When you have done this you will be asked to select a music app again with the question einmalig oder immer.
Peter222
i also tried that. Poweramp is still not in the selection list.

andrewilley
It seems to be Android variant dependent. I've seen other people report this before, but I don't have that problem on any of my devices. If it asks the question at all (i.e. there isn't a default already set for that file type) then PA should be on the available apps list. Peter222
I also tried uninstall Poweramp and install it again. It seems, that android 8.0.0 doesnt recognise Poweramp as an app for playing audio files.

Peter222
I just tried my old smartphone with android 4.4.4 This time, when i click on an mp3 or m4a file, Poweramp is offered in the list. It really seems to be a problem with the android version.
