demonboy
Hi, I'm liking Poweramp but I have a question regarding media server. I have a minix u9-h and will be running my music from that as a headless unit. Can I use Poweramp on my phone to control my music (UPnP)? These kind of features make Media Monkey a powerful app but I prefer the interface of Poweramp.
andrewilley
You can run Poweramp on any Android device and play back on that device (or via Bluetooth speakers) but the song files which are scanning into its Library must be located on that device's local storage rather than on a network. demonboy
Hi Andrew, thanks for the reply. I noticed that server support have been discussed a number of times and one response suggested that this might have been lined up for v3. Any plans to implement this feature in Poweramp? It's kinda my number one criteria for a music player.
andrewilley
Certainly output to DLNA / Chromecast /etc is planned for v3 (this will not be until after the initial release though). I'm less sure of what plans are in place to allow PA to play non-local media (streamed sources, network, etc) Andre
