Vimtoman
I have a fiio X5iii and the volume was very low compared to other player Apps. By turning off DVC the volume went back to the regular volume level. What am I missing ? Is this something that need to be sorted by the hardware manufacturers or Max? andrewilley
In the Equaliser you can boost the overall gain, also turning limiting / headroom features off might help. But extra volume does not necessarily equal quality (in fact, it's often the reverse). Vimtoman
Oh Ok the preamp slider, I have tried that. So whats causing the attenuation when using the DVC setting? I guess it's that Poweramp is not using the 2x AKM 4490 Dacs in the X5iii. andrewilley
And you may find it works differently in the next build (Material Design beta) as more devices will be natively supported. I don't know any details of which ones though. Andre Link to comment https://forum.powerampapp.com/topic/10519-direct-volume-control/#findComment-41883 Share on other sites

I doubt there will ever be a "definitive" list as the Android ecosystem is too diverse. However as new high-res capable devices come along, they will presumably get added once people report any issues - but that won't start to happen regularly until PA v3 is officially released. The next beta will include many of the devices that currently have compatibility problems though.
