  1. iTunes supports these tags which it uses to sort Artists and Album Artists. That lets you sort an artist like "Sage Francis" by last name, under F, where he should be. So, great to have the option to use such tags for sorting.
  2. Often when I want to play all my songs by an artist, I want to hear them in the order they were released. In other words, I want to hear the 1983 album: track 1, track 2, track 3... followed by the 1985 album: track 1, track 2, track 3... etc. Unfortunately, when I sort All Artist Songs by year, the tracks on each album are sorted alphabetically within each year (album). Listening to an album in alphabetical order is nowhere near as useful as the intended track order, especially for concept albums or albums where songs fade into each other. I think I remember there being a setting that advanced to the next category at the end of the current one, so I could enable that and just press the play button on the artist home page instead of the All Artist Songs page. But my typical behavior with playlists is to restart the playlist when I get to the end, so I don't want that setting enabled globally. It would just be a heck of a lot easier if there were a "sort by album year" option like what I'm describing.
  3. The Artists folder has the option to sort by number of tracks, the Album Artists folder does not
  4. It would be useful to have another simple option to play the playlist backwards (bottom to top). Sorting by the date added isn't the same as you can put them into a difefrent order manually. Alternatively simply sorting backwards in the state it is at that moment (and without choosing any option like "date added" or similar) would be the same too. Anyway, thanks so much for this great piece of software! I'm using it since years now and it's getting better and better...
  5. Hi there. I want to ask, is there any way to sort All Songs section based on the files/folders directory? I'm using Sort by Filename but the list is still unorganized. Using Folder Hierarchy I'm able to sort the song based on the files/folders directory, but I unable to see the all songs list, just folders list. I hoping dev can add Sort by Files/Folders Directory in All Songs section in the future, AFAIK, BlackPlayer able to do that. Thx.
  6. Some albums have multiple discs. Sorting by track # sorts it so that all songs with the same number but different discs are together, which spoils the order. Enabling sorting by disc-track would solve this. Would also be cool to be able to queue only one disc out of many in a long album.
  7. For those looking to consolidate their library content to a single bitrate this feature would be useful. If possible one could even have a unique search feature to only return specific bitrate so they can be removed in batch.
  8. I see quite a lot of feature requests here regarding sorting, so I decided to make another one. Currently, there's no good way to sort the "All tracks" list. Most of the sorting options like filename or track number make absolutely no sense for this list. Sorting by Author breaks the albums apart (it creates a mess if an album has several authors) it shuffles tracks within albums. I think currently sorting the All tracks list by author is unusable. The only somewhat usable sorting method for this list is by album. The albums are then sorted alpabetically, different authors are mixed. I think most people would like their albums sorted by author and year. I think the simplest solution for this problem would be adding sorting by file path. I think most people have their albums organized in folders by author and album folders can be renamed to include the release year. So the folder structure looks like this: Author 1 - 1999 - Album 1 - 2002 - Album 2 Author 2 - 1996 - Album 1 - 2000 - Album 2 If if was possible to load the music library into Poweramp and preserve this organization, It would be super nice! Thanks!
  9. Would it be possible to request for a simple sort option. I just wanted my music to play continuously like an album while on a playlist. A way that an album should play like. From Album > artist > track no. (not by title). There is currently no way to do this. I like my music to play from track number rather than from the title alphabetically. Thanks
  10. When viewing songs by date added, PA seems to take large swathes of unrelated songs and sort them in alphabetical order. In the attached screenshot, each album was downloaded fully, and by itself. They should not be intermingled as such. Also, note the scroll bar on the right: this is about halfway down the list of songs. If it was just alphabetical, these would be near the top. Build 816 Google Pixel - stock Android version 9
  11. I would like to request a Sort by Artist/Album/Track No. I listen to my music sorted like it was on a CD/DVD/Vinyl which is sorted by track number per CD. Some of my music plays continuously by track number and it plays wrong 'cause its sorted by track title by default per album on my playlist. Thanks.
