It appears that PA is a serious battery eater, cycle burner. Starting from about 90% charge, the battery on my rooted (otherwise stock ROM, and Andy 7.0) Sammy S7 is close to flat within about 5 hours. This is using plugged in Klipsch earbuds .In addition battery consumption, the phone gets noticeably hot (no warm). High battery consumption and hot phone all point to a very busy CPU. What's going on here?
In the FAQ concerning external SD suppoprt, it says "At this moment, we don't have requests for allowing root to the music app, as Poweramp, but if we get more requests, we can add this." I'm here to formally request this. I have a wireless SD card mounted as a CIFS share mounted in a /mnt folder, since mounting it to /sdcard/[whatever] does funny things with the way mounting is implemented in Android, like only certain things can see it. Poweramp did see it for a bit, but unless I'm on a fresh reboot and everything, it doesn't. Root Explorer can see the contents, but any other app it just shows up as empty. Mounting to a global root folder like /mnt/externalsd works much better, as everything can (potentially) see it. I'd love to see the ability to browse root folders to add to the library in Poweramp. I'm almost desperate -- if there's any way to compensate for this, like a nice donation, I'm willing to do so for this feature, as no one else seems to have it. VLC is indexing my library right now but it's still in beta so it's not going to be great, I can already tell. Thanks for your work!
I have a rooted Samsung S7 SM-G930v Verizon with Poweramp 703 and Viper4Android 220.127.116.11. I'm trying to get Poweramp to use Viper4Android instead if it's built-in equalizer and effects. Other people have been able to achieve this before, but I'm having some difficulty. Everyone seems to agree that the solution is to turn off Direct Audio Control off in the Poweramp Advanced Audio settings menu. I would love to do this to see if it solves my problem, but that act in itself is a problem. I cannot uncheck DAC in the menu. The option is greyed-out while simultaneously being checked. I must have had it checked previously and it got locked when I installed Viper. It also says that DAC is not supported by my rom, even though I'm just using the rooted version of the stock rom for my phone. How can I force disable DAC? What should I do to make Viper and Poweramp happy together?
