  1. Hello, I own a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Lately music would randomly stop playing. This happens with both MP3 and FLAC files and also across 3 different music player apps (Play Music, Poweramp, VLC). This would happen regardless of how the music was being played (Speaker, headphones, Bluetooth). Poweramp gives me an error that reads "Failed to play" This generally happened when the music was on my SD card but stopped happening when I copied the files over to the internal storage. Anything I could do about this?
  2. Fast forward is not working for few tracks, even not able to seek to the half way in the trach. am not able to upload those track for reference, if u provide me some contact back address,i can send those track as sample.
  3. I installed Poweramp a couple of days ago and its a good music player. However there is a strange occurrence I'd like to stop if possible. After I press the X to turn off Poweramp (when the app is small and stacked on top of any notifications) it turns off which is good but after my Android phone locks due to being idle, when I go to turn the phone back on AND whenever I plug my headphones into the jack before touching the screen in any way, suddenly Poweramp starts playing a track. This is annoying and could cause a disturbance when music suddenly blares out without me going to my Music folder and selecting a track. How can I stop this? I'm using a more basic phone at this time, an Android ZTE. But I have never had any technical issues or problems with this phone before and I bought it about 2 months ago so everything is current. How do I stop Poweramp from playing tracks on its own?
  4. Hi, I just installed Poweramp, and have it set to folder view > hierarchy. I would like to play (preferably shuffle) the contents of a single folder (or a folder containing other folders) and have playback stop when said contents have been played. Is this possible? (I have messed with settings as well as searched this site without finding what I'm looking for.) Currently, when I tell Poweramp to shuffle the contents of a folder, it does so, and then starts playing music from some other random folder. The only workaround(s) that I'm seeing is either to use the sleep timer (I haven't used it yet but I would assume this is something that stops playback after a set period of time) or to create a playlist of a folder's contents, assuming Poweramp stops playback when the contents of a playlist have been played. Neither of these options are ideal, and I would assume there is a way to do what I'm trying to do. Help!
  5. Hi, This topic is a quick follow up to the bug report I filed using the recommended google form. Basically :playback (whatever music style / file format /lossy / lossless / anything that plays in Poweramp) on the new Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is horrible. There is a background noise / noise floor (i'm not sure what's the proper audiogeek wording) which occures. Edit : forgot to mention it disabling "Direct Volume Control" removes this noise problem (but also reduces the sound stage and overall sound quality, which is why I use Poweramp in the first place) I am using Westone W60 IEMs so background noise is of course pretty audible when it occures (I'm coming from a Samsung Galaxy Nexus ; Poweramp never EVER generated such a high level of noise floor on my old device) Any other player app (tested : sony's preinstalled Walkman / Google Play Music / MX Player) do not output such noise. I'm getting my phone replaced just to be sure it is not hardware fault. However, it has been confirmed on XDA by someone else. (see link below) Also, I talk about the issue in this XDA thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/help/horrendeous-noize-t2935150 Please fix !! Can provide any log / debug info if required. Thanks in advance.
  6. I use iSyncr to sync my iTunes library daily with my phone. The process works perfectly with Poweramp and I have no problem with Poweramp getting the new playlists and files once they are synced. Recently iTunes has moved to the M4A format for many of the podcasts I subscribe to. Unfortuantely these files are only able to be played by Poweramp from the beginning. Once I try to fast forward, rewind, or pause the song, the file cannot be restarted by Poweramp. The application then goes to the next track in the playlist or tries to play the file from the beginning. If I right click the Podcast in iTunes and use the "Convert to AAC Format" feature, which still leaves the M4A extension, I am able to play/pause/fast forward/rewind the file without a problem in Poweramp. I believe the only difference between these two files is that the newly converted M4A does not have the "Chaptering" features that the original file has. Does Poweramp support M4A chaptering? Will this be fixed in the future? Sample files: Original M4A with Chaptering from iTunes with problemshttps://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2020630/%23080%20Group%20Therapy%20Radio%20with%20Above-Original.m4aFixed M4A after using the Convert to AAC Format in iTuneshttps://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2020630/%23080%20Group%20Therapy%20Radio%20with%20Above-Working.m4a Thank you for your help.

    Audio glitches

Sometimes when playing music, I get these weird audio glitches. Their though to describe, and I've only been able to just bearably record the very mild versions of them. I've got two recordings here (sorry for the potato quality), happens roughly 2 seconds in on both: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8MrGIr89YLoT3lobXEzdm1JN2c/edit?usp=sharing, https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8MrGIr89YLoUnZSQlI1Nzd1TEE/edit?usp=sharing I don't know if these links work, but let me know if they don't. Both original music files are 192kpbs mp3's, ripped using WMP from the real CD's and transferred using WinAmp to my phone. What you might be able to hear is as I've said the VERY mild version of the glitch, sometimes it can last for almost a full second. It also happens randomly. Sometimes I get them often, sometimes I can play music for almost a 40mins with no glitches at all. Here's some extra info: Phone is Nexus 5 running latest 8.0 SlimKat (also Slim kernel) It's not the files. I can have the glitch, rewind 2 seconds, and the glitch is not there. Even songs that have had tons of glitches in the past, now have none, and suddenly they return. Likewise no errors are experienced playing them on my PC with WinAmp or when using Google Play Music. It's been annoying me for the better part of a month now, and I'd really want it to go away.
  8. Hi all, Seems that I couldn't find the anwser anywhere, so I'm posting here. I've been using Poweramp for 1,5 years on my previous HTC phone and had it configured to play the music folder by folder - exactly by the actual folders on the smartphone storage. I've migrated to a newer phone, and now I can't seem to figure out how to make Poweramp play back my music in the exactly same way: the <<< and >>> buttons are inresponsive, and I can't sort the files to have the app play them in the order of actual folders (which is very frustrating, since some folders contain my personal mixes of different artists from different albums). I simply can't sort it out to work as it had before. Oh, and a step-by-step guide through the necessary settings would be much appreciated with a huge, sweaty pitcher of virtual beer.

    Playback Speed

It would be great if we could change the speed of the music like make it slow or fast.
  10. Hi, been using this great player for a long time now. The one thing that, for me, is missing is an A-B feature like for example the one in VLC that would allow you to loop a chosen part of a song. I found a use for this while playing guitar to teach myself a solo or to just repeat a part of a song that i really like ... Would really like this feature to be implemented. Hope I'm not the only one that would find it useful.

    A-B Playback

I have an ancient mp3 player with A-B repeat - A.N.C.I.E.N.T. I'm sure this already great music player, power amp, can deliver this function. Sometimes you just need a section of song repeated. Manual scrubbing is too clumsy.

    Playback Issue

Hi all, Some times when a track plays, another track plays for a second or two and then the original track continues..Kinda like a CD skipping, but with a totally different song. I've tried to solve this myself, but no dice. - I've deleted the song (thinking it was corrupt) and then re-copied the track. This kind of worked as the track is fine but it does the "skipping" to another song. - I've formatted my SD card in my computer, re-copied all the music (pain full process since I didn't use the ones on the SD card...just in case). Still does the random skipping. - I've formatted my SD card in the device, re-copied all the music again, and the random skipping happens. Notes: - Skipping happens when I use any playlist or all songs...it doesn't seem to matter. It is random. Its a different song. It is not sequential though (like song after song). - The device is usually on battery as I'm at work with music playing in the background. The battery is usually FAR from dead. Lots of life. - If I hear a song skip, I can go back after a few songs or right after it's done, play that song and it will skip again. If I copy the song to my computer (via bluetooth or usb) it's fine. Strange...SO...I thought it was my SD card. I had a 32gig Sandisk micro class 10 installed. I went out and bought a Lexar High speed 32gig Class 10 card. Does it on either card. I use the cards for music only. That way, if the card dies (which I've heard of happening) I don't loose my photo's. So there's only the music on the SD card and nothing else. Poweramp is set to look only at that SD card's music folder. I'm running a Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-I337M with Android 4.3 and Poweramp Version 2.0.9-Build-541-arm-play. I realize there's a newer version available, but I'm in a sanctioned country for work, so If I update via Tunnel Bear, Poweramp doesn't like it...no matter what I try (I have updated here in the past and Poweramp will stop working after a few days if it can't verify the purchase...man I hate where I am sometimes lol) Anyways...if anyone has any thoughts ASIDE from the update, I'm all ears. OH...this has happened in the past with a previous version (hence update may or may not fix the issue) Much Thanks all! Darryl
  13. Hi! I got a Samsung Galaxy S2 (Android 4.1.2 & MIUI ROM) and the latest Poweramp 2.0.9 (purchased) running. Everytime my mobile locks the screen, i got that annoying issue that Poweramp randomly stops the playback after an irregular amount of time. (WIFI, pause on headseat disconnect, resume on wired headset is deactivated). At first i thought that my earphones have a broken cable, but the issue occurs with every headphone i tested. Additionally the lockscreen shows the wrong song title (everytime the same title regardless of which song is playing). I hope you can help. Cheers & Thanks, PVZ

    Playback in Reverse

A little ability to play a track reversely may make an otherwise boring music interesting (and funny too). Tho it's trivial and profane in the realm of an audiophile, it'll add to Poweramp completeness. Let's think about it.
  15. Hi world, I'm curently testing Poweramp, it's really great, I was about to buy the unlocker but ... I have troubles with bluetooth streaming in my car ... here is the full story : << Sometimes, I only want to have GPS (google navigation) instructions and no music, so I put Poweramp in "pause" and navigation is running ... but each time navigation "talks", the music start/pause/stop ?!! ... very strange. >> Looks like notifications always start/stop music. Isn't it possible to pause/re-start music during notifications if ( and only if ) the muscic playback was enable before notification. If user has press the "pause" button, please don't start playing. Maybe it's a trouble with Android & Notification system, I don't know. Remarq : I'm using rooted HTC Desire (GSM) with CyanogenMod ROM (cm-7.2.0.1-bravo) I will be disapointed to cannot buy full version due to this point.
  16. I'm trying to discover a feature that I would assume is part of the program, but I cannot find it. If I navigate to a song in the library as follows: Library Albums Almost There I Can Only Imagine Then is there a way to set up the phones back button to return to Library/Albums/Almost There? I also get irritated that when I hit the Folders/Lib shortcut from the player UI it returns me to the root of Folders/Library instead of the most recent location. Is there a way to change this as well? If it is important, I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S3.
  17. I love Poweramp. I bought it long ago (not when it was on sale) and use it on a daily basis for hours on end. However, I have a couple small gripes... First off the bat, I often have problems regarding queued tracks and track that are currently playing. I've posted about this in the past but either it flies over most people's heads, or no one gives a toss. Hopefully I get some feedback this time. I like to queue up a good two or three hours worth of albums and then let it play while I work at my day job. Often I will browse for an artist in the Library, go into an album, and then select the first track, then it plays. The rest of the album is not queued per se, but will play following that first track. I don't know if this has a specific name, but I refer to it as Now Playing. My settings are such that I can go back into the Library and select more albums, long press them and queue them. The setting that allows this is in Settings > Advanced > Queue, and then Start Playing Queue is set to After Current List. Sometimes I will queue up albums without playing something first using the Now Playing method I mention at the start of this paragraph. Here's where I have a problem though, and I have a suggestion that would fix it. Sometimes I'll start playing something (like mentioned above with the Now Playing method) and then queue up more albums. I might come across a song I love, and want to go back and listen to it again. If I accidentally tap too far, beyond the first track of the Now Playing music, the Now Playing album is gone, and instead I am presented with the last entry of music in my Library, which is usually a band starting with Z. So I've accidentally navigated all the way to the very end of my Library and going forward brings me to the queued albums , but not the Now Playing album. I have to go back into my Library and play it again. Here's my suggestion: Instead of having a Now Playing method or mode, why not make everything that is played on the fly put into the queue? It's just like how Winamp works.

    "Gapped" Playback

The "gapless" playback works well including the fades. Very cool. However, there are some albums that benefit from a gap between tracks of several seconds. It would be nice to have an option to select a gap between tracks in addition to gapless.
