  1. Is it possible to have a feature with witch we can see complete audio spectrum of a file in player like one we can see using spek?, Will be a unique feature. An option of this in info tab would be grt.
  2. Hello, Yesterday I purchased a ZTE Zfive GLTE smart phone. I tried downloading music but the native app said that it would not play that format. I then went and download the app Poweramp. The music downloaded but it plays too fast. It does not matter if it is in mp3, m4a, or wma format. Any idea of what is causing this. It could just be the phone. It is really low end. Liz
  3. Please @maxmp give us a full m4a support. I thought that would come with the new version. M4a album arts and track info don't display. The only thing that displays is the file name no info on the track is shown on power amp but on other small players that can't even be compared with power am they are displayed( as shown in attachments) Please add this feature please. Thank you
  4. Poweramp Version: 2.0.10-build-571-play (Full Version) Model Number: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE SM-N9005 Android Version: 4.4.2 Custom ROM: X-Note v21 Since the last update I experience crash when in library I try going through albums - I just open an album, then go back to the album selection and open another album. It usually happens on the 2nd or 3rd opened album. Also when I leave an album it doesn't show where I left off, it brings me back up to the top of album list. This issue was non-existent on previous versions, I even uninstalled and downloaded an older version of Poweramp from a torrent site (by the way you should provide previous versions somewhere on the site/forum for occasions like mine) and this album problem was solved. I'm gonna send a log in the next few hours so you can see what exactly is happening. Another problem is: I recently converted all my music to aac (.m4a extension) with Winamp Pro on my pc, and then in Poweramp I noticed most of the files skip in the begging - in the first few seconds there is a little, not exactly skip, but like the music is fastened, like 2 seconds of the song are put in 1, and then everything goes back to normal. At first I thought it's winamp's fault but then I played the files with the samsung stock music player and google play music and this little skip was gone. And that's how I found the last issue - while testing out the files with other players I found out that at the same volume level Poweramp is quieter than both Play Music and Samsung's music player. I use a little mod which boosts the sound by changing a few values in system/etc/mixer_paths.xml I also have Viper4Android installed but it is turned off, and processing is shown as OFF, I'm mentioning this because I don't know if V4A's engine can interfere with Poweramp during installation, so just in case..
  5. I use iSyncr to sync my iTunes library daily with my phone. The process works perfectly with Poweramp and I have no problem with Poweramp getting the new playlists and files once they are synced. Recently iTunes has moved to the M4A format for many of the podcasts I subscribe to. Unfortuantely these files are only able to be played by Poweramp from the beginning. Once I try to fast forward, rewind, or pause the song, the file cannot be restarted by Poweramp. The application then goes to the next track in the playlist or tries to play the file from the beginning. If I right click the Podcast in iTunes and use the "Convert to AAC Format" feature, which still leaves the M4A extension, I am able to play/pause/fast forward/rewind the file without a problem in Poweramp. I believe the only difference between these two files is that the newly converted M4A does not have the "Chaptering" features that the original file has. Does Poweramp support M4A chaptering? Will this be fixed in the future? Sample files: Original M4A with Chaptering from iTunes with problemshttps://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2020630/%23080%20Group%20Therapy%20Radio%20with%20Above-Original.m4aFixed M4A after using the Convert to AAC Format in iTuneshttps://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2020630/%23080%20Group%20Therapy%20Radio%20with%20Above-Working.m4a Thank you for your help.
  6. So I feel a little silly asking this but. I was wondering if anyone has been able to achieve gapless playback with AAC files encoded and tagged with anything other than iTunes? So far I have seen where it's mentioned that Poweramp uses on the atoms style tagging used in said software, however it appears that they also must be encoded directly with itunes as well which is extremely limited in options. I have been using the nero AAC encoder through foobar2000 (nero and itune aac files being the only one to support gapless themselves {since last I've read anyway}) but... creating them via foobar >wiping the tag>import to itunes>tag= has noticeably reduced the gaps between songs but that's it.
  7. There seems to be a lot of questions about this, but I've not seen an answer yet. Does anyone know how to get gapless playback to work with MP4s when using Poweramp? I ripped a few CDs using Nero AAC, which played back fine in Poweramp. However, the playback wasn't gapless. There is a small break of a few milliseconds between songs, which, when listening to an album where one track seamlessly transitions to another, is quite disruptive to listen to (at first I thought that Poweramp was hiccuping on the tracks). Are there any tags I can add to the files? The reason I'm interested is that right now I have most of my music in OGG. However, I've notice that the battery takes quite a beating from playing these, compared to MP4 (because the CPU usage is much higher). It's not dreadful of course, but could be better. An example: 2 hours of playing back MP4 audio shows a total CPU usage of 13m in Android. 1.5 hours of playing back OGG audio shows a total CPU usage of 20m (some quick maths suggests this would be almost double that of MP4). The OGGs are encoded at q6 (~192kps), whereas the MP4 are ripped at 0.5 (~160kps). I'm not sure that the extra 32kps accounts for double the CPU usage, but maybe I'm wrong Tags? Ripping suggestions..? Thanks, Steve
  8. Downloaded Poweramp for the Nexus 4. Sounds fantastic--best of the ones I've tried. But unfortunately the lack of gapless aac is a deal-breaker for me. When you have a mix CD that blends the music track-to-track, it's amazing how disruptive that few millisecond pause is. Neutron supports gapless aac perfectly, and for me the non-disruption of gapless wins over the better sound from your app. I hope you can add this feature sometime soon, so I can use Poweramp for all my music. (BTW, thanks for adding RealplayGain.)
