  1. I'd like to see an option to jump to a specific letter in a given category or list instead of the a-z scroll bar. This would mimic how lists function in android auto.
  2. In Library > List Options we can select a number of list types to to be available. This is great! However, when we view a list, select an item within a list, the way the next list is itemized is limited (sub-list). Yes, the items within a sub-list can be sorted in certain ways, but the items in a sub-list are not customizable (sp). For example: If I select to View a list of Genres and then select the Genre list item "Jazz", I get a sub-list of "Genre Albums", but I would much rather see a sub-list of "Artists". It is difficult enough to maintain mp3 tags with the proper titles, artists and genres. The nice thing about having music packaged into single songs per file is that we don't need to have "albums" -- ie. we can pick and choose songs from many albums by the same artist we like, and choose to not collect the rest of the songs from those albums. Therefore many of us have many incomplete albums from the same artist, and we LIKE it that way! I would rather select a Genre from a list and then be presented with a list of all the Artists within that Genre, rather than a list of all the incomplete albums within that genre, especially when I have one one song from one album, three from another, four from a collection album, and 5 songs with no album tags, all from the same artist. So I am thinking that since we already have the ability to customize what lists types will be selectable, and then customize the way the sub-list is sorted, maybe we could also have an option to what kind of sub-list will be displayed. maybe we could customize our own tree of lists > sub-lists > sub-sub-lists (:-), ie: Genre > Artists > Songs Artists > Albums > Songs Genre > Composers > Artists > Songs <-- very useful for classical music Genre > Composers > Songs > Artists Genre > Songs > Artists <--- useful for jazz standards recorded by so many artists over the years All of these ways of listing music are useful, and I imagine users would come up with more to suit their particular listening preference for any given session. I am glad I bought Poweramp, and thanks for taking the time to consider this suggestion.

    Move to next album/list

Hey guys, I'm on the beta build 797 and I can't for the life of me figure out how to change lists/albums from the now playing screen WITHOUT pro controls. The tutorial states "swipe more to change list" what in the world does swipe more mean?
  4. As the topic says, I have "Keep List Scroll Position" turned off but Poweramp still saves my place in lists. It's a minor quibble but one I'd like a fix for. I'm using version 2.0.10-build-588-play (Full Version) on my Samsung Galaxy S8 Android Version 8.0
  5. I really like all the other aspects, but it is sometimes annoying to find movies and other video files lurking in the library. Thugh it can got rid of by moving the files other " non selected" folders but it would be awesome to have an option that says "exclue video files" or something like that. Thank you!!

    Ordering (all lists)

I'd like to be able to go into any list (All Songs, Albums, Playlists, etc) and have a lot more control over the ordering of the list. Instead of the current choices of 'By name', 'By artist' etc, I'd like to see a drop-down menu of these choices with the ability to order the choice in ascending, descending or random order. Underneath the drop-down menu should be an 'And then by...' button which creates a second drop-down menu (with the item chosen in the first menu removed from the list) so that I could have a sub-ordering list. There should be no limit to the number of sub-ordering lists, other than the number of items the lists could be ordered by. So, if I wanted, I could order a playlist by random album, with each album ordered by random artist, and each artist's songs arranged by ascending year. I've attached a mock-up of how it could work. I'm currently using version 709 for Android.
  7. I just recently installed Poweramp on a new phone, but I can no longer find where the list options are located. For the record, i want to list my music in folders by hierarchy , but right now clicking on folders displays all folders and subfolders at once, and it becomes a cluttered mess. Is there any to get it back? EDIT: the phone I'm using is a ZTE Grand X4. On my old phone, a Moto E, when I press sort by folder there is a little button on the bottom right of the screen with 3 vertical dots that lets me access list options. But on my new phone this button seems to have dissapeared. Is there any reason for this ?
  8. Hi. I need a bit of help with the shuffle options. I'm trying to do something and I don't know how to do it, or even if it's possible. I'll explain my situation and what I need to do. I have a couple thousands songs, divided into folders according to the genre of the music. Some genres have substantially more songs than other genres, but when I play music, I want all genres to sound as balanced as possible. For example, the rock folder contains well over 500 songs, while the jazz folder contains only 60+ songs. This means that with "Shuffle all songs" option, Poweramp will play roughly 8 rock songs for each jazz song played, and that's not what I want. I played around with the various Shuffle options, but all of them do the same. I want to know if there's a way to achieve the following playing criteria. 1) Shuffle all songs inside each folder 2) Start playing music 3) Shuffle all folders 4) Select the next folder (shuffled in step 3) and play the next song from that folder (shuffle in step 1) 5) Repeat step 4 until one song from each folder has been played 6) Repeat steps 3 to 5 I'd be very grateful if someone could tell me how to do that or, at least, something as close as possible to that. Thank you very much in advance.

    Randomized list sorting

Hey, I would like to suggest new option in "List Options" - "By random order". I know there is shuffle feature, but this is not the same - when I search for some album to fit into my mood I usually browse through Albums view and am bored to see them everytime in the same order It makes me to overlook some albums constantly. Instead I like figuratively dive into my collection and by surprised what will pop out at the beginning of the list ;-) Anybody interested too? Thanks AleŇ°
  10. There are three very big problems wih Poweramp that make me search for an alternative. 1. Next song I open my playlist, select a song and play it. I listen to a few songs, then comes the song I don't like. I move forward a few songs until I find the song I like. It says the next song is AAA, and I don't like it, so i change the shuffle a few times, until I find the next song I like. However, when the current song ends, the next song is totally random, and not the one I chose as next song. And it happens almost everytime when I change songs with shuffle. Why does it happen, why don't you fix it? If it says the next song is AAA then play AAA. 2. Shuffle some stuff, some other stuff in order WTF is with this options? If I am in the playlist, I want to shuffle that playlist. If I choose an artist, I want to shuffle that artist. Why the hell is there a million shuffle options? At least give a choice in settings to select if we want all these complicated shuffles or just a simple shuffle to shuffle only where I am currently. I have been using Poweramp for more then a month and still have no idea what is the difference between shuffles (and I don't care honestly, I want just one simple shuffle) 3. Most played Song gets a +1 even if just scroll through it. So I go through ten songs until I find one that I want to listen, and all ten songs are marked as if I listened to them. Make a song marked as listened only if I listened 90% of it, or something like that
  11. I have 2 problems The first it that I can't edit any of my song tags, because the app says they're read-only even though I looked at them in my computer and they're all write-able. Can I tweak something in the files or the app so I can edit tags? The second problem is that the list I listen to is reshuffled every time I resume playing. I always listen to the all songs list, and while I would like it shuffled I'd like it to shuffle once when I start listening to it, and keep the same shuffle throughout without changing. Quite often I find out that a songs I listened to a few hours ago is playing again while I obviously haven't listened to my entire library.

    Make list of lists

Sorry if this is an old question. I did try searching. I want to be able to make a playlist (for this discussion, named "Favorite Albums") that is a collection of other "lists" (playlists, albums, etc.) and preserves the list boundaries. When I start playing "Favorite Albums", I could thus use the "Shuffle lists, tracks in order" mode, or the skip to next list button. Is this possible already? Or is this a feature request?
  13. Hello! I'm new to Android but not at all new to computers and media players. I've been busy evaluating different players in the market and the stock one on Galaxy S II. Poweramp comes very close to what I expect of a player, thank you!. I've got one question, though. If I start playing from All Songs list and then come back to Library I'm presented with currently playing song in the list All Songs. If I start with Album or Artist - same thing happens. But is there an easy way (without the need to search) to jump from currently playing song to the respective entry in every list? Let me clarify: let's say I started playing song X from All Songs and I've got shuffle on, after couple of songs I come to song Y and I realise I would like to hear more _from the same album_ or _from the same artist_, so I tap Library shortcut at the bottom of the player (where song details are) and I'm in All Songs displaying song Y. But if I now go to Albums or other category there is no an easy way to locate currently playing song short of scrolling or searching. I've noticed an option called 'Keep list scroll position' but I'm not sure what it does or if it's working at all. Am I missing something? Does it qualify for a Feature Request? Thank you m.
