  1. Poweramp provides an almost unlimited number of options to personalize this player to suit everyone’s preferences. With this open design, it can almost become intimidating with where to start. I thought I would offer my thoughts on some starting points for the display and layout settings. By no means are these rules, but merely suggestions to try to help some that have requested advice in other threads. And for the record I have no affiliation with the development of the app, I am just another user and fan like you! For this first post, I wanted to start with the very basics. Any of the default or 3rd party skins can help personalize your design, artwork, layout, colour choices, and even font choices to tailor it to be yours. The first thing I would consider is whether you prefer a dark or light display. This can be selected in the “Look and Feel” settings menu. While it can follow your device settings, most users will likely have a preference of one over the other. But one consistent component is the background option. This can be enabled in the main Poweramp settings page, fourth option down. It can be selected on or off regardless of your skin choice. There are just four adjustments in the “Background” menu but the combination of them can lead to some very significant differences in the resulting background. It sets the album art from the file playing as a background for the Now Playing screen. Let’s look at what each setting does, then we can combine them to get the results you want. Background Blur - Affects the focus of the artwork. As the name suggests, it controls how clear the image is, from sharp and distinct on the left end to virtually unrecognizable other than maybe shapes or lines on the right. This is helpful to blend the image away from the main art display, but keeps the detail and levels intact. Background Details - Affects the sharpness of the artwork. The far right end of the slider is detailed, and maintains the full cover characteristics. As you slide to the left the contrast of the dark and light areas start to blend together, until you reach the far left end where the entire image is a single solid colour blend of the art. Background Intensity - Affects the brightness of the artwork. At the lowest end, it is virtually black no matter what colours are in your artwork, while at the highest 250% setting it is almost eyeball burning. This is a key setting depending on your preference I mentioned earlier for a light or dark display. Background Saturation - Affects the amount of colour of the artwork. At 0% it becomes purely grey tones, a black and white image. At the 300% maximum any colours are driven up significantly, great if you want to emphasize the original art. So how do you use these settings to get the perfect album art display? Well that is different for almost every one of us. There is no perfect. Fortunately we have these adjustments to work with. To start with, I make the following settings; Blur full left at less, Details at full right detailed, Intensity and Saturation set to 100%. This essentially makes the background the same as the original art display. You will need to exit the settings to see any changes you make each time. [@maxmp perhaps this can be improved in the future to show the background behind the settings, so the changes can be seen live?] Start your adjustments with Intensity somewhere between 150-250 for light backgrounds, while 15-50 is a good range for dark and still has the cover visible. Next adjust the Saturation, move above 100% to enhance the colours or below to reduce towards grey tones. After that move the details down and blur up, each one step at a time. This may take the most time to get the combination just right. Remember to use a few different covers, what looks good on one may not be so great on another. I hope this quick guide helps to get your background display to be your Perfect!
  2. When the screen is locked/sleeping and with Poweramp playing music, idk why the sound sounds as if it's breaking up. Like how it sounds when you are on a call with someone with poor internet connection. Sound output seems to be throttled. I am using v893, android 10 MIUI 12. I will send a log soon with a link to this thread.
  3. I am using the unlocked version of Poweramp since I got my first Android and I love it. But what I hate is that you changed the background around the cover in the player view. Depending of the colors of the cover the background color changes. I hate that and I would love an option to switch that of, so I can have my black background back. Tried a couple of skins but none of them helped... ;-) Or am i missing something and there is a switch somewhere???
  4. I saw Apple Music on iPhone has some fantastic background animation. It moves! I thought Poweramp should also be able to do that. Since it and Apple Music have similar design language. I will try to get a screen recording up then we can all see how good it is.
  5. LG G6, Android 8.0.0, kernel version 3.18.71 Poweramp v3-build-838-arm64-play, full version, 64-bit When locking my screen with notification center on and home buttons undocked, after unlocking there's a visible black bar under the blurred album art background. I think there are other cases where this happens, but this one is the most easily reproduced. https://imgur.com/J9VaR8z
  6. I would like to ask for an option to remove the black background color from music titles in the main themes, I think it would be more aesthetic.
  7. I first noticed this happening yesterday (May 5, 2019) and it persists. During playback, the background, album art, player controls, notification bar (clock included)... everything... disappears and all I see is a solid black screen and the chosen visualization. If I tap anywhere on the screen, everything comes back as it should and after the preset time, everything disappears again and it's back to a black screen with the visualization. I attached a screenshot of what I see. I hadn't changed any of the settings so I have no clue what's going on or why it just started yesterday but thought maybe some Android system app or Samsung app updated like Samsung Experience and messed with it. I went through the settings and couldn't find anything that I thought might cause this behavior. I couldn't find a master default settings restore so I went into each of the menu items and selected restore default everywhere I could find the option, but I realize a lot of the sub menus also have restore options. None of these had an effect other than bringing the notification bar back during playback which is great but I'd really like to see the UI and album art while music is playing since I mainly use Poweramp in my car. I looked into a log cat app, including the suggested one which hasn't been updated for years. None of the apps I could find seem work unless you root and all I could see are the logs of the app and not anything to do with the device or running apps. I did find one that worked without root but all it showed was app selection, song play and selection and no system events. I thought about uninstalling Poweramp and then reinstalling it but would prefer to leave that as a last resort. If I do chose to uninstall and reinstall, will I get my full version back? I do still have the Unlocker installed. Are the hoops I have to jump through to get the full version back? My device info: Device: Samsung Galaxy S9+ OS: Android 9, Security Patch: April 1, 2019 Poweramp: V3-build-826-play (full version) Poweramp Full Version Unlocker: 3-build-301
  8. A question about the background settings: It seems that if I set "Background Blur" to maximum, it has roughly the same effect as if I set "Background Details" to about 70% between "Solid Color" and "Detailed". So both settings basically do the same, only with different intensity ?
  9. Is it possible to put blurry background of album art for bar spectrum visualizations?! That would be a beautiful option.
