  1. I'm new to Poweramp, just downloaded the free trial and am trying to decide whether or not to purchase the full version. I did a quick search of the forum and didn't see information about this but forgive me if it's already been discussed. I'm looking to categorize my library by "Album Artist" as this is how I have things sorted out the way I like on my PC. In my PC software (MusicBee for reference) I have it set up so it is categorized by "album artist" but if there is no album artist tag, it will default to the "artist" tag. This is common on a lot of the music I have burned a years ago
  2. iTunes supports these tags which it uses to sort Artists and Album Artists. That lets you sort an artist like "Sage Francis" by last name, under F, where he should be. So, great to have the option to use such tags for sorting.
  3. Hi @maxmp Please have the main player show the Artist tag same as the one in the notification panel. It would be appropriate especially for Albums that are a collection of songs with Various Artists (VA) as album artist tag. TIA
  4. When viewing Album Artist I only got art showing for the first 146 artists, the rest are blank. Sorting with Albums, Artists and Genres, all art appears correctly. I use only locally stored art, no download. I got all my music stored on a 200 GB SDXC in a single folder (~20.000 VBR-0 tracks) with art stored individually in each file (50-250 kB) ----- Sony Xperia Z5 Compact (E5823), Android 7.1.1 Stock
  5. Hi. I rip my large CD collection to play on my phone. I want to see my CD's from Artist, then Albums, then Songs, very standard usage. The problem is that when songs have different artists or co-artists like in a compilation, then the artists names are all over the place and not together in the album. That can be solved by using the Folders view instead of Library. But the bad effect is the artist list is bulky with an ugly empty folder icon for all. That's a quick and unambitious solution for a large app like Poweramp. I can't be the only one ripping CD's wanting to see the
  6. Before I begin, I would like to say hello users of the forum. I want to mention I really like the program and I appreciate the simplicity and clarity of its interface.I looked through several threads about the album covers and advancement of their reading, but I do not use that functionality and for me half of the landscape screen is unusable. So I would like to suggest some changes in the location of buttons control the music tracks and optional hiding album name from which comes this recording. I would like to add some options to the program that will take the music control buttons on the
  7. Poweramp V 2.0.9 558 play Samsung S4 mini 4.2.2 The sorting of albums appears problematic. On windows 7 explorer my files are tagged by Album, Title, Album Artist, etc... However, when I use Poweramp and select Album, I see like 60 songs sorted as individual albums by the "Title" tag instead of the "album" tag shown in windows (i.e. Poweramp thinks the "title" tag is the "album" tag). On windows, using windows media player or winamp, have never had this problem. Accordingly, instead of having 1 album with 60 tracks I have 60 albums with 1 track. Not very suitable for searching. All those
  8. In the Album Library you currently show the "Artist" name below the "Album Name" instead show the "Album Artist" name there. Or give a option to choose between the two as per the user preference. Thanks, Ajay
  9. Hello All, I am loving the Poweramp so far, but here some feature requests which would eliminate the need for me to use Google play music or stock player. I would love it if you would be able to make 'Album Artist' tag searchable and also a list of all 'Album artist' available like there is one for artists and composers. [The searching function works in Google play music] Also a similar feature for 'lyicist' tag would make me fall in love with Poweramp head over heels :-) [i see it on mediamonkey on my PC] So Give me two more lists there, you great guys! p.s. I had previously also had a
  10. Hi, I'm using Poweramp 2.0.7-build-515 Full Version on a HTC Desire Z ( Android 2.3.3 with HTC Sense 2.1 ). I have a number of tracks where the artist tag is "Artist X (featuring Artist Y)" on albums by Artist X In Poweramp library artist view this is shown as differing artists e.g. Artist X, 9 tracks Artist X (featuring Artist Y), 1 track The tracks are from the same album & the album artist for all tracks is "Artist X". I would like there to be a setting to choose whether you use Album Artist tag in preference to the Artist tag. Many Thanks
  11. Please add support for album artist in id3 thus solving the problem with mixed artist albums cluttering the artist list. Shouldn't be a problem in 2.0 since you added your own library scan, if i understood correctly? Thanks for a great player. Cheers
