  1. Currently when you apply the album sorting the tracks of an album are sorted by title rather than track#. The same happens with the artist/album sorting. I think it would be better that when you sort a playlist by album or artist/album the sorting respects the track# of the songs. So an album that looks like this: 1. Charlie 2. Beta 3. Alpha Will look like that when sorted in a playlist instead of looking like this: 3. Alpha 2. Beta 1. Charlie
  2. These are two separate albums. Poweramp seems to be grouping them together because they are both titled "Beethoven" even though the other details in the CUE file are different.
  3. An album artist's albums are currently sorted by alphabet. I think you should be able to change that to, for example, sorted by year. I'll attach a quick mockup.
  4. I'm tempted to but the full version, however I'm missing one feature that is essential for the way I sort music. I want to be able to assign multiple genres to one song. The song would then appear in both the genres lists. As an example, I have a song that consists out of DnB, but there's rap on top of it. I would like to give this song both the genres rap and DnB. So I can hear the song when I listen to rap and when I listen to DnB. I hope this feature would be as simple as using a , or / in between genres to assign multiple genres for a song, however I don't know how this works in programming. If this feature were to be added please email me at noahdewaard1@gmail.com and I would instantly buy the app!
  5. iTunes supports these tags which it uses to sort Artists and Album Artists. That lets you sort an artist like "Sage Francis" by last name, under F, where he should be. So, great to have the option to use such tags for sorting.
  6. Current version: can only sort 1 level Idea is to have multiple sorting in artists pages. Example: (Per artists), 1st sort: year, 2nd sort: album, 3rd sort: track number Not all audio files are named in the ff. format: [track #] [artist] [title] (unless there is recommendation/suggestion to batch format a very large collection of files) Current idea is to be applied in artists (list options) and playlists (re-sort) pages. App version: v3-build-824-play
  7. By default all lists sorted alphabetically, why? Different content require different type of sorting. No one sorting photographs by size, this makes no sense. Everyone wants their photos be in order they was taken, so best way is sorting them is by date taken. Sorting should be helpfull, not broken and confusing. 1) In «Album» list, when selected sorting by artist, albums from the same artist then sorted alphabetically. This is really confusing if artist has 10+ albums. Albums from the same artist should always be sorted by year. How it now: Alphabetically -> Alphabetically Artist A - A album (2004) Artist A - B album (1996) Artist B - A album (2006) Artist B - B album (1993) Artist B - C album (1999) How it should be: Alphabetically -> Year Artist A - B album (1996) Artist A - A album (2004) Artist B - B album (1993) Artist B - C album (1999) Artist B - A album (2006) 2) Sorting of «All Songs» and «All Artist Songs». Even if this is big lists of songs, it doesn't mean it should be a mess, as it is now. This lists should have grouping of tracks by album, this ways tracks will always will be in order and only albums are sorted, as user selected — by artist or year. (If it's «All Songs» list and selected sorting by artist, then they are should be secondly sorted by year, as i complained hereinabove.) How it now: By Year (No grouping) A album - A [Track #3] (1967) A album - B [Track #1] (1967) A album - C [Track #4] (1967) A album - D [Track #2] (1967) B album - A [Track #2] (1973) B album - A [Track #1] (1973) B album - B [Track #3] (1973) How it should be: By Year (Grouping) A album - B [Track #1] (1967) A album - D [Track #2] (1967) A album - A [Track #3] (1967) A album - C [Track #4] (1967) B album - A [Track #1] (1973) B album - A [Track #2] (1973) B album - B [Track #3] (1973)
  8. After adding several albums to a new playlist, I'm unable to get back to original order after doing a shuffle (random sort) and sorting again by album. Album sort totally illogical. Closest good sort is done sorting by date added but tracks are not in a logically sorted order; track 02 above track 01, other tracks also randomly out of order. Sorts should be done on current sorted order but the app doesn't take that into consideration. I would like to get to original sorted order. This only shows up with more than one album in a playlist. A great app but this the only complaint I have. 1st image is of sort done by date added, second by album. 3rd by filename.
  9. I want to use the All Artist Songs option but the sorting isn't quite right for me. I want the most recent album on the top and the tracks of the albums to be in order by track number. Sorting by album and reversing it reverses the track order in the individual albums as well. Sorting by year sorts the tracks in the individual albums by name. Sorting by track # doesn't care about albums. Could you add an option to select a secondary sorting option or something of the likes? I found the album artist option which is the thing I need but some of the albums don't have the album artist set and are under the unknown artist category and I don't want to set them track-by-track. Maybe could you add an option to set it for the whole album? I'm on Android Oreo, v3-build-815-play (Full Version)
  10. Hello Poweramp, The date added sorting method has been broken since a few updates of the V3 version (this is a regression as previous V3 updates worked as expected). The date added sorting method does not follow the "reverse" option properly and stays the same, no matter if checked or not. On top of this, the "sort by filesystem date/time" menu option is also broken and won't change the sorting method to "scanner first seen date". Thank you for your attention.
  11. I have to say first off, I am NOT a fan of the new Poweramp. There was nothing wrong with the old software. If it isn’t broke, why fix (or in this case, break) it? So having spent a few days with it, I notice that the playlist settings are very broken. In the old system, I could reorder it with ease, and it stuck with that ordering. Now, it seems to do what it wants. Under old system – goto folders, select a folder, add to playlist. Go to playlists, find play list, select it, select options, resort, sort by album, click playlist – it starts playing, in album order. And it sticks to this order. Under new system - goto folders, select a folder, add to playlist. Go to playlists, find play list, select it, select options, resort, sort by album, click playlist – it starts playing, in album order. BUT, whilst the initial playing is in TRUE album order, if the playback is paused (say you turn off Bluetooth speaker, headset or switch off connected car), when it starts again, the order is changed and seems to have changed but takes off either numeric parts of albums, or is sorting it in track order, or is random. So an album of “21 dreams” now seems to be sorted with the other “d” albums (not at the front). Not sure what the order is, but it is no longer in the true album order first selected.
  12. So, if u have an album on ur phone that happens to have a song on it, that's not from the album artist or when the album artist is just "various artists", Poweramp thinks that's a reason to sort the album to the artist, that did one song on the album, instead of the album artist. I'll attach screenshots, to show u what I mean. It's obviously a deadmau5 album, but PA decides it isn't. That may look like a aesthetic issue, but it's pretty annoying when u set PA to go to the next list after finishing the one before and u want to listen to all ur songs sorted by album artist that way.
  13. There is a bug that's pestering me and I can't help anymore but report it. Let me start off by saying that I am not sure that the "Artist list" view is the only place where it occurs, maybe it's in album view too, have not tested it. Here is the bug: I first noticed it with "A Perfect Circle" and subsequently with "A Tribe Called Quest". The first one will be sorted at "P" and the second one will be sorted at "T", ingoring the preceding "A%20". Can I have any hope this will be looked into? Or that it won't show up again in Poweramp v3 please?
  14. Hi! I would like to see sorting method like 'By filepath' in 'List Options' of 'Library' view. So I can get list of all songs sorted by folder structure. E.g. ../Music/Artist/Album/Song.mp3 Currently 'Library' view can sort by filename, skipping parent folders, and songs are mixed up. For example: ../Music/Metallica/1986 - Master Of Puppets/01 - Battery.mp3 ../Music/Metallica/1984 - Ride The Lightning/01 - Fight Fire With Fire.mp3 ../Music/Metallica/1983 - Kill'em All/01 - Hit The Lights.mp3 ../Music/Killswitch Engage/2000 - Killswitch Engage/01 - Temple from the Within.mp3 ../Music/Metallica/1983 - Kill'em All/02 - The Four Horsemen 'Folders' view has this kind of sorting, but it can't display all songs in the list. It has 'Hierarchy' (with actual full hierarchy) and 'List/Grid' for most inner subfolder (e.g. album subfolder of an artist parent folder in my folders structure) for 'View as" which aren't useful for me. I know I can achieve what I want using playlists, but I need to recreate list every time I add new songs, which is inconvenient. Alternatively wanted behavior can be achieved adding something like 'All files' in 'View as' option of 'List Options' of 'Folders' view. Thanks!
  15. This has been happening for me for a while but I'm only reporting it now because I just got the alpha and assumed it may be fixed but it isn't. Basically I have a 64g SD full of music, and certain albums won't sort properly. Not all albums, just some. If I check the track numbers they're all OK, but when I sort by track number it's off. in the case where the song titles also start with the track numbers and I sort by name, it works fine, but that's not always the case. HTC one m8 Android 4.4.4 Custom Rom Android Revolution HD 22.1 Poweramp alpha build 703 play Sorry for the external link but there's a file limit here Let me know if there's more info you need. I could attach the mp3s of offending songs or send them privately if copyright is an issue? (even though it's for purely diagnostics)
  16. Just upgraded to Moto 5G Plus which uses Android Nougat I have all my songs in a single folder on the external SSD. However I cannot sort them in Date/Descending order. They only show up Date/Ascending. Ive tried restarting but nothing. Any ideas? This is the paid app.
  17. Whenever I play songs from the: All songs, Most played, Top rated tabs or basically any list that is NOT the queue or a user playlist, there is no option to rearrange the order in which the currently playing list plays. I know the queue can be rearranged but say I'm playing an artist or from any of the above mentioned tabs and want to play songs in a certain order? A simple knob to rearrange whatever is "now playing" would be great and is desperately needed. And guessing from my experience with other players, and from Poweramp itself, can be done as it already is an option for the "Queue list".
  18. Hello! I have a lot of songs and albums from lots of different bands (more than 60) and I always use the Performers (I hope that's how it's called in english) folder. Most of the times I have to scroll/search a lot for the performer I want. What I would like to see is that you should be able to sort the folders however you want. For example I would like to see Opeth, Tool, and Haken as the first 3 performer, but that's just not possible with the current options. Everything else is perfect, thank you for the great app!
  19. As much as I love Poweramp, the one thing that bugs me is the fact that two albums by the same artist with the same release year always get sorted alphabetically. For instance, I have the albums "High Voltage" and "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" by AC/DC, which both came out in the same year. However, HV was released first, but DDDDC appears first in the sorting under AC/DC's page of albums. Is there a way to fix this, or perhaps a certain way I should be labeling these albums in Windows Explorer? It's only a minor annoyance, but I think it's worth posting about. Thanks for the help.
  20. Would it be possible to add a field for sorting by artist and then year in the library view? For example: Radiohead - Pablo Honey (1993) Radiohead - In Rainbows (2007) Rather than the current Radiohead - In Rainbows (2007) Radiohead - Pablo Honey (1993) I'm completely OCD about my music organisation and this is one feature of iTunes that I really like. Thanks
  21. Right now, so far as I can tell, when in folders mode, the best you can get is sorting the files in alphabetical order according to the Track Title in the ID3 tag. Can you add sorting options? Adding the option to sort it alphabetical by track title, by file name, in order by ID3 track number, reverse alphabetical, whatever. Options are always better than a single unchangeable and illogical default mode.

    Sorting

Being able to sort music thru Artist /Album/Track Number... Rather than just Artist/ Album or Track Number Separate, because when it's Artist /Album it jist goes I'm alphabetical order as opposed to track order.
  23. Hi there! My second feature request, which I think would be very useful for people having multiple languages in their music library. Currently Poweramp ignores "the" and "a", if I recall correctly, when sorting the library. Well, that doesn't work for other languages so the final sorting can be confusing for people with more than one language in music titles, artists, etc. Moreover, people like me prefer to take ALL prefixes into account when sorting, I don't mind having all the "The" artists together because I find them faster that way. To make things worse, this ignoring of prefixes only happens when showing albums and artists, but not for songs, which makes sorting quite confusing and unpleasant to use. So, Max, could you please make the list of prefixes configurable and allow it to be empty (so no prefixes are ignored when sorting if the user wants it that way). Of course, if this can already be done in the settings, could somebody point me to the proper place? I can't find it! Thanks a lot!!
  24. Hi all, Seems that I couldn't find the anwser anywhere, so I'm posting here. I've been using Poweramp for 1,5 years on my previous HTC phone and had it configured to play the music folder by folder - exactly by the actual folders on the smartphone storage. I've migrated to a newer phone, and now I can't seem to figure out how to make Poweramp play back my music in the exactly same way: the <<< and >>> buttons are inresponsive, and I can't sort the files to have the app play them in the order of actual folders (which is very frustrating, since some folders contain my personal mixes of different artists from different albums). I simply can't sort it out to work as it had before. Oh, and a step-by-step guide through the necessary settings would be much appreciated with a huge, sweaty pitcher of virtual beer.
  25. Would it be possible to add "by last played" option to the sort options for playlists? If I'm shuffling a playlist and a song plays that I want to remove from the list, when I push the "next track" button and then press the "show list" button it would be nice to see the track that I want to remove above the one that's currently playing. Currently I have to use the filter feature to find it, which isn't the end of the world but not exactly the most convenient.
