  1. I just had my balls busted in a different section of the forum pages for not putting this in feature requests, even though the point was that I thought that it had to have already been an existing feature. I am toast after those go 'rounds, so forgive me for just doing a copy/paste of my original post, even though it wasn't worded as a feature request. And if you want any justification for why, please just refer to the posts in that other section. Thanks. 1) This seems like it would be such a fundamental option, that I am guessing that I am missing something in the settings (there are a lot). If I go to an artist, I click on the "three dot" menu icon and what I would intuitively expect is the option to choose (or assign) a genre for the artist. A genre that would then override any inconsistencies down through their catalog of albums and songs (like when a band of one genre is the anomaly on a soundtrack dominated by another genre). 2) while I figure that the above option is just flipping a switch in my settings, this second (and third) part(s) are me wondering how something related to artist genre would work. For an example, if I have all BobMarley as reggae, what would happen if I imported Marley tracks from sources that have the songs/albums miscategorized as a different genre? Would they automatically be corrected when they are imported during the next rescan? Or would I have to go back and again assign reggae as the genre of Bob Marley? 3) Sticking with Marley, there are many "dub" versions of his songs and dub is a very distinct subgenre in reggae. So I would manually add a secondary (sub) genre, so it would be entered as:"reggae//dub" So let's say that I started with 2 Bob Marley albums and I set Marley's artist genre to reggae and then add dub to ~10% of the song genres on each album. What would happen to those 10% of songs that were reading as "reggae//dub" if a few months later I realized that I had imported Marley tracks from various sources that had incorrect genres assigned, which may (depending on the answer to question 2) require me to run the artist genre again? Would it change all reggae//dub tracks to simply "reggae," or would it recognize that these songs already have the correct genre (just with an additional genre added)? Sorry if this isn't clear, I can explain further, if needed. I have worked most of my life in music, which later evolved into integrity analysis of databases as the industry shifted on line. Poweramp seems like a perfect player for me, but I just need to figure out some of the nuances of it's various functions. Peace, Ras
  2. I have a couple of Cream albums for which Poweramp (v3, latest update, although the problem has existed for a long time) does not display the Track name or the artist name in the GUI even though the tags have all the correct info. I've tried reinstalling Poweramp, Rescanning folders, full rescan, removing/reinserting SD card. Didn't solve the issue. Kindly help. Thanks. Screenshots
  3. I'm not sure if this is an issue with Poweramp, or with Google, but after the 3.0 upgrade, I lost the ability to edit tags on my Android phone. It insists that I do not have the rights to modify files on my SD card, and nothing I do seems to give it access? Strangely, I store all of my music on the SD card, and power amp has the ability to play all of the files, it just can't edit the tags. Please help if you can 🙂
  4. Hello, after updating to v3, my library turned to disaster. 1. Many albums got split in two, though tags are the same. 2. A lot of songs disappeared. I unchecked "ignore short tracks" and they appeared, but still unlisteneable. 3. I've found a lot of tracks in "unknown album" directory, and this really is a mystery With Poweramp v2 I've had none of the problems https://drive.google.com/file/d/1g9dDJPjHaCTprl4gz9A5Cwkj7hDg2L2t/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/196omSA5uioHc_-RcQPCmdUvTz47ExyG0/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tGqpjg2koPoUu-IDpdgVTlXRio6fDJOT/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1l4R9ho4LqdlEKJMq8kfiwr3p1CfkpJeZ/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ebe03lnaT9xv7rBTWZvN8SZxnLiaSQsp/view?usp=drivesdk
  5. Hello, In some cases, embedded album artwork is displayed corrupted inside of Poweramp, even in when I have not transcoded the file for use on my phone. The very same files display their album art correctly within foobar2000, but in Poweramp, the embedded album art only renders the first few rows of the image before it turns into blank grey. In this particular case, every file of a MP3 album has the same embedded image (manually via mp3tag) and each file shows the same corruption. There is no front.jpg or similar in the directory that they reside in. Perhaps Poweramp has issues reading ID3v2.4 tags? I've experienced this before in the past and cannot recall if those files were also ID3 (MP3) or VorbisComments (FLAC/OPUS). After a bit of further experimentation, it seems the problem is more to do with the actual transferring process, as deleting the files, full rescanning, and re-transferring the files seems to have fixed the problem. I'm not sure if it's Windows' fault for transferring poorly or something to do with Poweramp reading incorrectly. I did resave the tags (without changing them prior to re-transferring) in mp3tag to rewrite/refresh the tags and perhaps that helped too, but all this time foobar2000 has had no issue displaying the artwork as it should be. It's a bit unclear what the issue is, all I know is that on occasion, I've experience corrupted embedded album art in Poweramp. I haven't thought to test albums that exhibit this bug in another player but I will do so next time. Is this a known issue? I would submit a test file but after re-transferring the files, the bug is no more. Screenshot of corruption (notice the rows of pixels stop rendering). Thanks. Moto G4, v3-build-820-play
  6. Hi there! It would be nice if we could select multiple files in the library and edit their metadata in a single operation. Thanks! PS. Awesome product btw :)
  7. Pls add more fields for tags editing, such as "composer" "comment" or "lyric" etc. Thanks.
  8. I've noticed that some albums would have many different album arts within the album. Is it possible to have 1 standard art for the entire album? Also some albums are split, even though the tags have the same album name.
  9. Hello, thank you for making this application ! I would like to make a suggestion of something I would definitely like to have: support song lyrics in .lrc files, ie synchronized lyrics. Many applications already have this support, however Poweramp does, and this is annoying because I have tags with .lrc letters and I can not follow them correctly
