  1. Hi Poweramp., could u pls updater Poweramp , that you write/save the albumcover in the tags? Thanks in forward Michael
  2. Does anyone know how to have Poweramp show the Song Title in the Playlist instead of the one from the Tag? Thanks, E
  3. A lot of my music have either artist tags, file name tags or image tags, and I'm wondering if I switch device (same manufacturer if that means anything), will the tags still be there? Can Poweramp read them? Cause other MP3 players don't see any tagged information in the music Poweramp tagged.
  4. Add a feature where we can see if a song is already added to any playlist in form of tags or something like that.
  5. Hi guys. Please suggest me a id3 tag search app for Android which can automatically find composers for my songs. I've already tried Automa tag editor and auto tag editor, those apps are really good for tagging mp3 files but none of these apps doesn't search for composers. They only find title, album name, artist, and track no. I need an app which can automatically search for composers for songs. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
  6. I'm new to Poweramp, just downloaded the free trial and am trying to decide whether or not to purchase the full version. I did a quick search of the forum and didn't see information about this but forgive me if it's already been discussed. I'm looking to categorize my library by "Album Artist" as this is how I have things sorted out the way I like on my PC. In my PC software (MusicBee for reference) I have it set up so it is categorized by "album artist" but if there is no album artist tag, it will default to the "artist" tag. This is common on a lot of the music I have burned a years ago and the album artist would be the same as artist so I have not changed it. With the default settings in Poweramp, it looks like if "Album Artist" does not exist it will just go to an "Unknown Artist" grouping even if "Artist" exists. I've looked through the settings but haven't found anything. Is it possible to categorize by "album artist" but fall back on "artist" if it does not exist?
  7. Hi there, I'm here to ask to support full date in sorting and grouping. If you have a tons of album from the same year it can be problematic to sort or group albums by year (plus this can be useful in the album view for artists with significant output in a single year, cfr. this). This can be implemented using the id3v2.3 tag TDAT or the id3v2.4 tag TDRC. A short summary (from id3 specification): TDAT:The 'Date' frame is a numeric string in the DDMM format containing the date for the recording. This field is always four characters long. TDRC: The 'Recording time' frame contains a timestamp describing when the audio was recorded. [...] The timestamp fields are based on a subset of ISO 8601. When being as precise as possible the format of a time string is yyyy-MM-ddTHH:mm:ss (year, "-", month, "-", day, "T", hour (out of 24), ":", minutes, ":", seconds), but the precision may be reduced by removing as many time indicators as wanted. Hence valid timestamps are yyyy, yyyy-MM, yyyy-MM-dd, yyyy-MM-ddTHH, yyyy-MM-ddTHH:mm and yyyy-MM-ddTHH:mm:ss. All time stamps are UTC. The TDAT tag was changed to the TDRC one in id3v2.4, but I suggest to support both of them (probably most of the time only one of those will be present, not both), since most of other players/taggers support only TDAT (probably due to parsing criticalities related to the variable timestamp length of TDRC). I myself use the TDAT tag only, it's just way more straightforward and more supported. If those fields are not present then a timestamp like "YYYY-01-01" can be inserted in the internal DB, as many others do in this case. I know that it will need a full rescan of the user music library to function properly, but by settings "YYYY-01-01" as the default timestamp this won't affect or break anything, since the fallback sorting will always be the alphanumerical order (as it is right now). Thank you for your job and have a happy new year! Related request: Choose Metadata Field for Year Сортировка альбомов
  8. I listen to rap music and most of my music is in the form of mixtapes. Many of which have a DJ and quite a few have multiple DJs. As there isn't a "Disc Jockey" tag, I add them to the Composer tag. I'd appreciate being able use symbols (semicolons [ ; ], etc.) to separate multiple entries within the Composer tag, the same as can be done with the "Genre" tag. Thank you.
  9. I'm sorry if this has already been answered, but I wasn't sure exactly how to word this one for a search engine. As you can see in the attached image, there is a single song from this artist that was added to the library with "(H)" added to the end of the artist name. When I checked the tags inside Poweramp and in other programs on desktop, there didn't seem to be any issue, all tags are consistent. Does anyone know a way to fix this? Motorola Moto G8 Power Android 10 Poweramp V3-Build 874
  10. I'd like to be able to add multiple, separate composers to the composer tag, like hiw you can with genres. I don't listen to classical/orchestral music so, I don't know if this is a weird request or not. I listen to rap music & much of library is mixtapes that have DJs, often more than 1. I use the composer tag to add the DJs to the to the song info. Thank you.
  11. It'd be nice if we could have a feature where tracks that have artists featured within the track title like Title (Feat. Artist) would automatically put those featured artists into the track's information, rather than the title.
  12. Why Poweramp is not using rating tag? I have a huge (>2600) collection of tracks, they all are rated. But if I move track (or change microSD), rating will be losed. Problem can be solved with using rating tag, I guess. What do you think?
  13. I use MusicBee to organize and tag my music, and MusicBee separates the sub-genres I add to it like the first picture, in 2 different lines. Poweramp only reads these as one and only reads the first genre. It would be nice to not have to re-edit the tags into on line like the second picture just for Poweramp. If there is a way to make MusicBee save as one genre as the default or have Poweramp read multiple genres lines, please tell me both of these music players have a ton of features.
  14. When I edit tracks via AIMP tag editor I add multiple genre tags with semicolon separator, like this: Indie Rock;Noise Rock;Neo-Psychedelia;Post-Punk Revival - four genres, Windows and AIMP guarantee it. Poweramp v2 treated this kind of strings as intended - as multiple genres-substrings via semicolon separator. However, the newer app initially treats this genres as a single genre string, like that: Indie Rock;Noise Rock;Neo-Psychedelia;Post-Punk Revival - it's all the one genre, as Poweramp thinks When I open Poweramp v3 tag editor and manually delete any random semicolon and add it again at the same place, the app finally treats that semicolon as substrings separator, i.e. deleting the last semicolon in the example string will turn one-genre-string into Indie Rock;Noise Rock;Neo-Psychedelia and Post-Punk Revival genres. ANOTHER EXAMPLE AIMP multigenre separated string with different separators like Indie Rock/Noise Rock/Neo-Psychedelia;Post-Punk Revival turns into Poweramp single genre string Indie Rock/Noise Rock/Neo-Psychedelia/Post-Punk Revival (note the semicolon turned into backslash). Replace any backslash with the other backslash (like in the example above) - nothing realy gonna happen (unlike the example above). But replacing any backslash into semicolon finally splits that single string.
  15. I'm running Poweramp v3 build-853 on a FiiO M6 DAP. It's unable to read the tags on some of files in my ALAC collection. I've tried to edit the tags from within Poweramp, but nothing changes upon saving the tags. If it matters, files are stored on MicroSD. The tags are readable by the native FiiO Music app on the M6 and iTunes, xld, kid3 and MusicBrainz Picard on my Mac. I've attached a couple of these files for testing here (ZIP Archive).
  16. Even if I change the tag of FLAC or MP3 files and change the genre Poweramp still keeps some of the files with the old one. Other players with the same files show the correct genre see the image clicking on the link. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1l-EiEdGIiQ-Lhyh3tD_yERh2KOmcm1Cv/view?usp=sharing I’m using Poweramp v3 build 853, but I experienced the same problem with the v2 and v3 builds on a Samsung S10e with Android 9 and a Samsung S5 with Android 5.
  17. Playing songs by ARTIST isnt organize When you tag the following songs eg. 1. I Don't Care : Ed Sheeran; Justin Bieber 2. End Game: Taylor Swift; Ed Sheeran 3. River: Eminem; Ed Sheeran 4. Perfect: Ed Sheeran 5. Beautiful People: Ed Sheeran; Khalid this will show in the ARTIST tab as 1. EdSheeran 2. Ed Sheeran/Justin Bieber 3. Ed Sheeran/Khalid 4. Eminem/Ed Sheeran 5. Taylor Swift/Ed Sheeran I tried tagging songs like 1. I Dont Care (ft. justin Bieber): Ed Sheeran 2. End Game (ft. Ed Sheeran): Taylor Swift But the song End Game wont be shown in Ed Sheeran's. How about songs which two or more artists are credited; like 1. Power is Power: SZA, the Weeknd, Travis Scott 2 1000 Hours: Dan+Shay, Justin Bieber?
  18. Hey everyone, I would like to request a feature which may not be of much importance but could improve the app for people like me. Would it be possible to create the following option?: mass-edit the info/tags of a song. Reason 1: switch of mobile phone. Because when I switch the mobile phone, the edited tags won't stay and when I have to re-edit them again it would be a pain in the ass to get a cleaned up albumspace again. Reason 2: Editing tags of whole album which weren't handled properly. E.g. most of the timr when you download an album from youtube, the album-name, songtitle and artist is wrongly configured. In order to clean that up I usually go through every song and edit out. But coming to reason one... this is just way to cumbersome. Thanks in advance!
  19. Hi, all. WavePack format is a really powerful Lossy/Lossless format. Unlike most of the Lossy formats (mp3, aac, m4a & etc), it can create desired file size by specifying bit rate with a range from 24 - 2048kbps at tiny increments of 1kbps! (at hybrid Lossy mode) At the same time, it can also output any bit depth from 8bit to 32bit, enabling the possibility of a 24bit Waveform Packed inside a 320K mp3 sized media file. The point is: Please pay more attention to .wv files where PA currently does not read tags properly from it. I use foobar2k to write all tags & album art. Poweramp only reads album arts but not tags.
  20. I'm tempted to but the full version, however I'm missing one feature that is essential for the way I sort music. I want to be able to assign multiple genres to one song. The song would then appear in both the genres lists. As an example, I have a song that consists out of DnB, but there's rap on top of it. I would like to give this song both the genres rap and DnB. So I can hear the song when I listen to rap and when I listen to DnB. I hope this feature would be as simple as using a , or / in between genres to assign multiple genres for a song, however I don't know how this works in programming. If this feature were to be added please email me at noahdewaard1@gmail.com and I would instantly buy the app!
  21. I would like to be able to select multiple tracks and edit them together, i have many albums with the wrong tags but at the moment I'm having to edit one track at a time instead of being able to select all files from the same album and edit them together. Should be simple but it's not.
  22. I have a couple of Cream albums for which Poweramp (v3, latest update, although the problem has existed for a long time) does not display the Track name or the artist name in the GUI even though the tags have all the correct info. I've tried reinstalling Poweramp, Rescanning folders, full rescan, removing/reinserting SD card. Didn't solve the issue. Kindly help. Thanks. Screenshots
  23. Adds the option to edit all the selected songs at the same time, which would be more practical when the person is editing an entire album. Nor would you need to use a tag editor every time you need it.
  24. I'm not sure if this is an issue with Poweramp, or with Google, but after the 3.0 upgrade, I lost the ability to edit tags on my Android phone. It insists that I do not have the rights to modify files on my SD card, and nothing I do seems to give it access? Strangely, I store all of my music on the SD card, and power amp has the ability to play all of the files, it just can't edit the tags. Please help if you can 🙂
  25. Hello, In some cases, embedded album artwork is displayed corrupted inside of Poweramp, even in when I have not transcoded the file for use on my phone. The very same files display their album art correctly within foobar2000, but in Poweramp, the embedded album art only renders the first few rows of the image before it turns into blank grey. In this particular case, every file of a MP3 album has the same embedded image (manually via mp3tag) and each file shows the same corruption. There is no front.jpg or similar in the directory that they reside in. Perhaps Poweramp has issues reading ID3v2.4 tags? I've experienced this before in the past and cannot recall if those files were also ID3 (MP3) or VorbisComments (FLAC/OPUS). After a bit of further experimentation, it seems the problem is more to do with the actual transferring process, as deleting the files, full rescanning, and re-transferring the files seems to have fixed the problem. I'm not sure if it's Windows' fault for transferring poorly or something to do with Poweramp reading incorrectly. I did resave the tags (without changing them prior to re-transferring) in mp3tag to rewrite/refresh the tags and perhaps that helped too, but all this time foobar2000 has had no issue displaying the artwork as it should be. It's a bit unclear what the issue is, all I know is that on occasion, I've experience corrupted embedded album art in Poweramp. I haven't thought to test albums that exhibit this bug in another player but I will do so next time. Is this a known issue? I would submit a test file but after re-transferring the files, the bug is no more. Screenshot of corruption (notice the rows of pixels stop rendering). Thanks. Moto G4, v3-build-820-play
