  1. A key feature of bluetooth audio is the ability for multiple apps to be able to output audio. Such as when you have your music player stream via bluetooth, and a navigation app (like Google Maps) speaking turn by turn directions. As some folks have laws requiring hands free usage in cars, this is a significant Bluetooth bug. In the recent past, about 2 months ago, this feature was broken by an upgrade to Poweramp I believe. The issue started when I had Android 4.4.4. I now have Android 5.1.1 and it persists. Now when I use both Poweramp and Google Maps Navigation, The music will go silent but no sound is played by Google Maps Navigation. Since this issue does not occur if you use any other media player, it is clear that the issue lies with Poweramp. Device info: Nexus 5 OS: 5.1.1 stock (issue seen since 4.4.4 stock) Bluetooth connection to car radio (stable since setup in December 2014) Poweramp application installed and setup with bluetooth output (any version released in the past couple of months, including the current as of June 18 2015) Any navigation application that has the ability to output sound over bluetooth, such as Google Maps or Waze. Issue: Poweramp prevents other apps from playing sound via Bluetooth audio. This previously worked fine. (early 2015) Workaround/ Temp Fix: Do not use Poweramp as your music player. Google Play Music and Amazon Music both work fine. Test cases: Works: 1. Open Google Maps Navigation and configure to play audio via bluetooth 2. Open Google Play Music and configure to play audio via bluetooth 3. Play music via Google Play Music. 4. Start navigation via Google Maps. 5. Notice that audio successfully switches between the 2 apps, and you can hear audio from both apps successfully over bluetooth. Fails: 1. Open Google Maps Navigation and configure to play audio via bluetooth 2. Open Poweramp and configure to play audio via bluetooth 3. Play music via Poweramp. 4. Start navigation via Google Maps. 5. Notice that audio fails to play the audio for the navigation app, instead you hear a gap in sound from the music player app. You cannot hear audio from both apps successfully over bluetooth. Suspected issue: Poweramp does not relinquish access for other apps to play sound. Perhaps Poweramp forces the sound to be "nothing", instead of relinquishing control.
  2. Hi guys, I am using Poweramp for a long time now and I recently bought a new car. When using bluetooth i can get PA to respond to the pause button, but when I press the next or previous buttons it just pauses instead of going to another song. I tried it with other music players and there is no problem with them, this annoying bug only happends with PA. Can it be fixed? Thanks!
  3. I have a samsung note 4 running 6.0,marshmallow and the Poweramp app constantly shuts off within seconds of connecting to bluetooth. Only way to have Poweramp play is to manually restart. Becoming a pain. I have Poweramp locker have been using for 4+ years. Please fix.
  4. Hi Folks: Whenever I start my vehicle, and the BT connects to my phone, Poweramp fires up and starts playing, even if Bluetooth is not selected and I'm listening to the radio. This would not be desired behaviour cause it's a) using battery power and b - making me miss good songs in the rotation. Also it throws notifications on my Android watch about all the songs I'm not listening to. I would like to be able to only have the app play when I press play. "resume on bluetooth" is not selected, nor is "resume on wired headset". Version build 588 (full version) Android 6, May 2016 updates installed. Nexus 6p Any suggestions?
  5. Apparently, the new engine has a lower output gain (compared to 2.x or my Huawei stock music player) - trying to even up using EQ or replay gain / glo al playback gain leads to clipping. Tested using Huawei P8 Lite and Bluetooth headphones 'sound intone BT-06' Alpha v703
  6. when ever I connect any Bluetooth device , the next and previous buttons do not work, they used to work. when I play music through the Samsung music app through Bluetooth, there buttons work, so the problem odd with Poweramp, Can any one help
  7. pweramp version: 2.1.10-build-588-play Device: galaxy s6 When I´m using Poweramp with my bluetooth headphones it doesn´t recognise the cotroll (start/ stop/ next song/ previous song) but they do work on the default stock music from samsung.
  8. Using power amp beta via Bluetooth. At incoming call, music briefly comes out phone and when call disconnected, blue tooth not resumed. Power Amp freezes.Bluetooth
  9. Hi Is there any chance of adding the ability to assign EQ profiles based on the device rather than just Bluetooth? I use Bluetooth for both speaker and headphones and obviously they both benefit from different profiles. Of course, I can switch manually but I'd like to have the app automatically recognise which Bluetooth device is connected and choose for me, if possible. If not, does anyone know a way I could do this with a third party app? Thanks in advance.
  10. I just bought a 2015 Honda CRV with the full bluetooth set up. But it shows NO song tags and info. However it does show in my truck with an older Pioneer car stereo. I did a factory reset with my Honda yet it still displays nothing. But it did when I first hooked it up. Then it displayed the wrong song info while playing something different. It's possible it's the Honda going crazy instead of Power Amp... any tips?
  11. Hi Folks, I'm using Poweramp since about three weeks now and I'm preatty impressed! But there is one thing wich prevents me from buying the full version: I'm using the player only in my car where I connect it via bluetooth to the cars audio system. Unfortunately the player doesn't provide playlists, folders, Song-List and so on... So I can't scroll through the songs or search for songs using the interface of my audiosystem in the car and I have to use the phone instead. The stock mp3 player from my phone provides everything. So am I doing something wrong or isn't that feature available? I'm using Android 5.1.1 thanks for you help br
  12. Hello I want to stream music from my phone to my car's android 4.1.1 head unit that runs Poweramp, is it possible that Poweramp will play from bluetooth stream? if it's possible, will it also display song info? thanks
  13. Hi there, I've recently downloaded the alpha and I've been enjoying it a lot. There is an issue with Samsung devices which not only affects the alpha but pretty much every music player I've tried. I understand that this is not a Poweramp issue but I'm hoping there may be a workaround that can be included in the release. Just to clarify, I'm not an Android developer but I do have a moderate amount of technical knowledge such as flashing custom ROMs etc. I believe the issue is that Samsung has badly implemented AVRCP backward compatibility. I have an older Kenwood head unit (BT92SD) with the latest firmware installed. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+. No metadata is being transmitted to the head unit and the buttons do not skip track / play / pause etc. The head unit works with no issues on my friend's HTC One M9, my Fiancée's HTC One M8 and my old HTC One M7. I believe the head unit supports an old version of AVRCP and although AVRCP 1.5 is supposed to be backwards compatible, it does not work on Samsung's new devices. I have done a lot of Googling and Samsung are refusing to acknowledge it as an issue and there is no third party solution I can find. There are a lot of people out there experiencing the same issue. I have tried all variations "Metachanged Intent" CyanogenMod etc. Considering the popularity of the Galaxy range, would it be a feature that you would consider implementing if indeed it is possible or am I going to have to update my head unit? Thanks, Rich.
  14. Hello When I'm using Poweramp and receive a phone call, the other side hear lots of noises and cannot hear me at all. when I'm shutting down Poweramp (or uninstalling) , I get the calls good and the other side can hear me perfectly. I really like this player and also paid for full version. I don't experience such issues on Shuttle Player, but I like Poweramp more. please try to help. I'm running Poweramp latest version on Android 4.1.1 car 6.2" head unit. --- I've also tried with the latest v3 release and it's still the same - when the app is running, the other side hear lots of noise and cannot have a conversation. when I close the app (and the process) , the other side gets a clear voice. --- thanks
  15. Hello, this has been already many times asked in this Forum. I'm talking about 'Short Audio Focus' and Poweramp. Actually the only way that Poweramp handles 'Short Audio Focus' is pausing the song. This is actually nice if you have headphones connected and you don't want to listen to your song on the external loudspeaker when a message or whatever arrives. Ok, till there everything is fine. But it's not the same while connected via Bluetooth to your car head unit. So in combination with a Navigation app (Let's say TomTom for example) + Poweramp, every time the navigation says you should turn, the music just stops playing, and after finishing talking the music resumes. This is deadly annoying when you're driving inside of a city, then the music sounds like a scratched CD from the 90's.. stopping every 5 to 10 seconds. The proposed solution is always disable the 'Pause Song while Short Audio Focus', then the song keeps playing while the navigation app is talking.. but the song loudness is as loud as the voice talking, so you end up being unable to understand what the navigation system is saying, so it gets annoying again. FEATURE REQUEST: -> So again, I would like to request as an option to enable 'Song Volume Lowering on Short Audio Focus'. There are a lot of topics in this forum asking about this feature, and there are even some of them where the developers even answer. http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/5610-volume-ducking/ http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/5848-lower-volume-of-music-when-google-maps-prompts/ http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/2873-mute-or-lower-volume-during-google-navigation-speech/ http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/4591-lower-volume-on-notifications-short-audio-focus-change/ http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/4468-volume-duck-instead-of-pause-while-playing-with-google-navigationwaze/ http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/8287-audiofocus-option-for-lowering-volume-during-notificationsnavigation/ ... The developers said: For a workaround for this issue, it could be a Bluetooth only feature (So it would work on Samsung and in others) and the annoying problem would be gone and everyone happy. I hope I'ill get a response from the developers, I would like to know if they would consider implementing this possibility or if everyone should stop asking about this feature (which the android stock player has by default). Greetings.
  16. Poweramp 3 alpha 700 doesn't respond correctly to forward/reverse commands sent via bluetooth correctly. Testing procedure: 1. Connect phone to bluetooth audio device (eg: car) 2. Play a media file 3. Press and hold the forward or reverse button on the bluetooth audio device Expected results: Poweramp should fast forward or rewind within the current media item What actually happens: Poweramp skips to the next or previous media item The correct behavior works properly in Poweramp v2.x.
  17. Hello, i often use Poweramp via Bluetoothin my car. And here is my Problem: While playing music in background, i use my device as Navigation System and SpeedCamera-Warner. (CarMode is enabled) Neither the sounds from my Navigation App nor these form the Speedcamerawarner were hearable. Is there an Option to mix up these sounds into the actual playing music? My best-case-scenario: While in Car Mode music is playing, if there is an Audio event from Nav or Speed-Warner dim audio to 60 percent and play the sound. If there is an Phone-Call event just mute (as it is now) I hope due to my limited english i could point out what i am interested in... some further informations: Phone samsung GTN7000 Android 4.4 Nav: mapfactor Navigator (http://navigatorfree.mapfactor.com/de/) Speedcam: Blitzer.de Plus (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.blitzer.plus&hl=de) Thank you for your help
  18. Hi everyone! I'm from Italy, I'm new here even if I'm using PA since years. IMHO it's the best player available so far. I unlocked premium features, my OS is Android 5 and everything works fine. I'm writing here to ask for an IMPORTANT feature to me. I hope this feature, I'm going to explain, will be helpful for everybody. I use several BT devices, but Preset i assigned is not good for all of them. For example my 2.1 home theater in bedroom manages bass tones strictly in a different way like the one in living room or in my car. So i'd happy to be able to assign to EVERY BT device a different preset, basing this on the name of devices. I really hope you understand my request and apologize for my not-so-good english. Many thanks and Merry Christmas to you!! Johnny
  19. hello, i have a request. please implement the Audiofocus Option for lowering the Volume(like a Volume bar whrer the user can set how much the volume should be lowered) during a notifivation or even more important navigation. the interrupt during navigation annoys me please do that. big thanks in forward.
I can see the album arts only when I turn on the screen of a phone which has paired of my Samsung Gear S2. If I turn off that, I can't see any album arts on my Samsung Gear S2. Is this a fixable issue?
  21. I don't know if Poweramp has the permissions to do this, but is it possible to have it disconnect a bluetooth device? Specifically I'd like the sleep timer to also have an option somewhere to turn off or disconnect the BT device when going to sleep... without any connection my BT speaker will shut itself down after a few minutes, which is why this'd be rather useful! Thanks in advance, using Poweramp has been a pleasure so far. ~RedFlames Edit: Update, went and checked the manual/FAQ page for the SRS-X11 (the BT speaker I bought) and it says it'll turn off after a while - doesn't specify the time anywhere curiously enougth but it seems like 15 minutes - when there's no audio playing; regardless of BT connection or not. Sooo... I myself don't need the feature after all but maybe it'd be a nice addition. As long as it is feasible / doable?...
  22. When I connect the phone to my car via Bluetooth, random numbers would appear before the song titles when it is displayed on my car's infotainment system. For instance: Lady Gaga - 1003 Poker Face Lamb of God - 1006 Redneck Etc. Is there any fix to this?
  23. Hi all. I have the paid version of Poweramp and a Samsung Note 3 running Lollipop. I blue tooth my music from my phone to my car radio which is an Alpine CDE-HD137BT. The radio displays the names of the artist, song or album playing. Ever since my phone was updated to Lollipop, the artist, song and album no longer display when I use Poweramp and the Alpine radio. The radio still plays my playlists and I can pause and do everything else...I just can not get any info on the radio about the song being played. Artists, etc. do display when I am playing radio stations, so I don't think the problem is with the Alpine. I have reinstalled the app, deleted and reinstalled the music (I use a program called iSyncr to get my music from iTunes to my phone) and while all the info appears correctly in the Poweramp app, including the album covers, the names no longer display when I BT to my radio. My music is on my SD card and Poweramp is set up to read the SD card as far as I can tell. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thank you. -Sally
  24. Using a Garmin Vivoactive to control playback on Poweramp over bluetooth works except for Next and Previous track selection. Pause, resume and volume control work as expected. Pressing either next or previous pauses/resumes the play back. I can confirm the next and previous work correctly with other music apps including Amazon Music and Spotify. Poweramp version: 2.0.10-build-581-play (Full Version) Device: Samsung S5 Android version: 5.0 ROM Version: LRX21T.G900FXXU1BOE2 Hope we can fix this one! Jeremy
