  1. Couldnt find anything via Google, xda or the search in this forum, so I had to post this... I have recently bought an Uwatch 8 Pro from China, for the only purpose to control PA while riding bike without taking the smartphone out of my pocket. Unfortunately, this wouldnt work since the watch is always playing music via its own speaker instead of my headphones, which are connected to the smartphone. I have asked in the uwatch section of xda and got the answer to set it up in the output-settings of PA, which I couldnt find... Can anyone please help?
  2. My phone recently updated from Android 4.2.2 to 4.4.2. Since the update, the track numbers have not properly displayed via Bluetooth. Previously, the track number would display as "1", "2", "3", etc. Now they display as "1001", "1002", "1003", etc. If the song is from Disc 2 of a 2-disc set, they display as "2001", "2002", etc. It appears as if the track number is now being displayed as [Disc][Track-zero-padded-to-three]. I only have one Bluetooth device that shows track numbers to test this on: my 2014 Honda Accord. I've tried toggling "Metachanged Intent" setting and the setting to include track/album with track name, but neither of these seems to result in any change. I am using Poweramp 2.0.9 Build 561
  3. Hello, I've been using this app since I bought it about 3 years ago. It's perfect in almost every aspect except one, which I discovered during the last year when I bought a car. I use the app to stream music via bluetooth. But many times I only have the phone connected via BT in case someone calls me, not to play music. Now I'll try to explain the sequence in detail: 1. (The "Resume on Bluetooth" option is always disabled). 2. The phone connects to the car stereo via bluetooth. 3. I start playing FM radio on my car stereo. 4. At some moment I receive a notification on my phone (an SMS, a Whatsapp message, a calendar reminder, etc.). The notification ringtone is heard through the car stereo. 5. The car stereo's sound source switches automatically from FM to bluetooth stream at this moment. 6. I switch the car stereo's source back to FM radio. 7. I hear the FM radio for a second and then Poweramp starts out of the blue playing from where it left off the last time I used it. If it was in the middle of a song, it resumes that song. Conclusion: I have to unlock my phone, stop Poweramp and switch the car stereo back to FM radio for a second time. How can I stop this from happening?. I mean, I'm not using the app at all at these moments, it's not even in the recent apps panel. As far as I know, it's only reacting to some kind of trigger launched by the car stereo when I switch to FM radio, but that's all I can tell. I've read this post and it seems to cover my case, I've yet to confirm. If that's the case, is there any way I can trace the bluetooth commands so I detect which app sends the MEDIA_PLAY command? I'll greatly appreciate any comment on this matter. Regards, Andrés
  4. Like the dozens of enthusiastic people asking for DLNA support, I want to stream from a portable device (a tablet I purchased solely to be a Poweramp dedicated mp3 player) to my stereo. It is possible that Bluetooth, not DLNA, is the answer. As interested readers know, DLNA is a wireless standard capable of the transmission of audio from portable devices to WiFi receivers at CD levels of fidelity. Poweramp does not support DLNA, but some people have succeeded in connecting it to Audio Cast via BubbleUPnP in a rooted phone. (I have succeeded in doing that with an HP Touchpad running Cyanogenmod and Android KitKat, but this setup does not work acceptably for me because, even without wireless transmission, Poweramp stops playing every few hours, which does not meet my needs. And, yes, I have turned off all the likely features causing this such as gapless processing and fading.) I want to make a system that works on a Dell tablet with Android/KitKat. To use Poweramp in this case requires rooting the tablet. This I have been unable to do, and do not want to do because it is not sustainable through OS updates. Also, my WiFi seems to occasionally cause another trial system I am using (n7player using Toaster Cast) to stop playing every few hours or less, despite careful reconfiguration of the channel used by the WiFi router to avoid interference with the DLNA machine that is configured as another network. So I am anxious to try the Bluetooth alternative. Bluetooth has an available bit rate well in excess of the bit rate of any mp3 files--it is about 1 MB/s, while mp3s usually go no higher than 320 kb/s. So if the transmitter (Poweramp and the Dell tablet) is willing to send the mp3 files, and the receiver is willing to receive them, Bluetooth should be good. What we need is 1) a Bluetooth standard that supports this concept, 2) a Bluetooth receiver that supports it, and 3) Poweramp, combined with my tablet, that supports it. Bluetooth does support it. I am pretty sure that most $20 Bluetooth receivers do not, but I have found at least two that do: Nyrius Songo HiFi Wireless Bluetooth aptX Music Receiver ($50) and Audioengine B1 ($190). There is an article that addresses the issue but suggests that Poweramp and my tablet will not do their part in this coordination: You may be familiar with prolific and well-respected audio journalist Brett Butterworth. He wrote, "If both the source device (your phone, tablet or computer) and the destination device (the wireless receiver or speaker) support a certain codec, then material encoded using that codec does not have to have the extra layer of data compression added. Thus, if you're listening to, say, a 128 kbps MP3 file or audio stream, and your destination device accepts MP3, Bluetooth does not have to add an extra layer of compression, and ideally results in zero loss of quality. However, manufacturers tell me that in almost every case, incoming audio is transcoded into SBC, or into aptX or AAC if the source device and the destination device are aptX or AAC compatible." You can find the whole article here: Comparing AirPlay, Bluetooth, DLNA, Play-Fi, Sonos and More Comparing AirPlay, Bluetooth, DLNA, Play-Fi, Sonos and M... A comparison of AirPlay, Bluetooth, DLNA, Play-Fi and Sonos wireless audio technologies View on stereos.about.com Preview by Yahoo The reasons why include adding beeps for your phone, and using the volume control on the phone or tablet...to say nothing of the equalizer available in Poweramp. In Poweramp promotional material here: http://powerampapp.com/features/ ...is the inference that the audio can stay in mp3 form even as Poweramp runs its equalizer. Under the "Equalizer and Tone" heading is this: "works for any supported format and for bluetooth A2DP headset" (A2DP is the transmission standards that deal with negotiating format between the transmitter and the receiver). So, my questions are: 1. Is the transmission of Bluetooth signals a function of the operating system or the app or both? 2. Can, or does, Poweramp act to allow direct transmission of mp3 files from the player via Bluetooth to a compatible receiver?
  5. Hello there, it's been ages since i wrote on this forum, but i'm experiencing a few things over bluetooth that are driving me nuts. In this post i'll describe 3 problems i have over bluetooth with Poweramp. When i say bluetooth i'm reffering to my car stereo, i do not use bluetooth headphones or any other devices. If it helps, my current stereo is the build in headunit of the Mazda 3. but i can confirm the problems on Alpine units, as well as Audi A3 stock. So, here goes: 1. To make it short, i get these skips, like very short pauses when i playback with screen off. I did test my car, and it performs perfectly with a nokia lumia, and an iphone. it also does fine with my phone and the stock player of the ROM. Like i said above i get these problems with screen off, i have wakelock ticked, i played arround with different buffer values, as well as task priorities. Probably relevant, i use headphones, off of the phone jack at work quite a lot, and i DO NOT HAVE THSES ISSUES! screen off, or on, no problems, just bluetooth. I do not use DSP except Replay gain. But i can confirm that even with RG off, i have the same behavior. I've even installed a custom kernel to allow me to play with various settings of the device, thinking it's the ROM that is to blame. but if i run APOLO, the built in playes, no problems. Do you have any sort of tweaks i can try? any experimental features? i'd be more than happy to act as a test subject as long as my phone doesn't blow up... so long as it's not in my pants.. or next to my ear 2. Sometimes, when connecting, somehow the connection is not correct, Poweramp does not start, and my car just shows unknown everywhere.. If i hit play from the headunit, nothing.. usually i have to reconnect. Now, on to the funky part. sometimes, just sometimes, if i start music from the device (start Poweramp, hit play) the display of the headunit instantly changes to the track name, and i hear music... so it's like after connections, my system acts as if there is no Poweramp in my system. this never happened with my gf's phone. that is a nokia lumia. 3. I am a big fan of Direct Volume Control. clearly audible improvement. Now, i like the fact that i can now have DVC, and BT DVC. DVC has given me this issue since i've had Poweramp. so, scenario: i'm connected to car stereo, via BT, and i have BT DVC enabled. a call comes in. i answer, i can talk, all fine so far now, when the call ends - does not matter if i end the call, or the person i'm talking to hangs up, when the music comes back, volume is low. now, don't think the Android media volume is low. NO! that is at max, like i always keep it for BT. BUT, it is clearly audible during playback that the volume has diminished to about half of what it was before. Now, if i make the call, regardless if i end it, or the other party hangs up, when music comes back, volume is perfectly normal. These are the big 3 bugs i have with Poweramp over BT. say i could live with 2 and 3, but 1 is KILLING me! it is annoying as hell. please give me some advices as to what i can tweak and how. On a completely unrelated note, do you think it would be possible to add a ReplayGain scanner function to Poweramp? or at least let me see if the track has RG in track info screen? Thanks in advance, if you need anything (logs, more settings i have ticked.. so forth) please let me know! I'll provide all i can. PS: my phone is a samsung i9505 and i'm running, yeah, probably guessed it, cyanogen mod 11. Poweramp build 2.0.10 - 571
  6. I'm using Poweramp on my car and home Stereo via Bluetooth. In the beginning everything worked fine but for a couple of days now the Music is in te rr u pt in g after a couple of minutes of playback. Very annoying and certainly what I don't need when I should concentrate on the traffic. I tried to adjust the settings like audio buffer or thread priority (which I never changed before) but no change. I shut down all apps before entering the car, tried with or without Internet connection - no result. I did not install any new application (maybe updates). I have no idea what else to do. Anybody got any idea or the same problem? I'm using Samsung Galaxy S3, Android 4.3, Poweramp 2.0.9-build-558-play
  7. I have an (AptX) BT adapter in my car, however when I turn off the car the power is cut to the adapter. The phone (Xperia Z1, kitkat) doesn't realise this until about 30 seconds later (I guess the connection times out?). Poweramp then pauses, however the widget/notification/app doesn't show it - the play/pause button doesn't change to play. Next time BT is connected, it doesnt auto play. Pressing the play/pause button (still showing pause) causes the song to play from the begining. To get around this I've had llama (an events app) send the media pause command when the BT device disconnects. This results in about 2 seconds of music playing from the phone speaker 30 seconds after I turn off my car, but at least Poweramp properly pauses and autoplays next time it connects. If you can't reproduce, I'll bring the BT adapter inside and reproduce while phone is hooked upto ADB and dump the logcat, let me know.
  8. I've been using Poweramp to playback music in my car via bluetooth, it was working just perfectly until the latest update (both app and android has been updated, so I'm not sure which one causing it). Now sometimes after connection the playback is started on the phone's speaker instead of the car audio. In these cases both the telephone and the car shows that the bluetooth connection is ok, I can make calls using the car's controls, audio controls also working. Bluetooth reconnect does not help. After restarting the phone it works fine, playback is using car audio again. Any ideas how to fix this? Many thanks in advance. details: phone: HTC One M8 Android: 4.4.4 Poweramp: 2.0.10-build571 (purchased full version) car: Ford Mondeo 2014

    Bluetooth control, vivosmart

I bought a Garmin vivosmart activity tracker, and it includes bluetooth media controls: a play/pause, next track, previous track. All three buttons just play/pause. Being able to skip tracks without taking the phone out of my pocket would be very nice. I realize there are Bluetooth control options in the settings menu, but none of them seem to have any effect. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong? Thanks, love the app; I recommend it to everyone whenever I can!
  10. Hello everybody, I love Poweramp and I am using it for years on different phones. Currently I am using an LG Nexus 4 with Android Lollipop 5.0.1. My newest toy is a Garmin Vivosmart, which hopefully will be fully functionable in one of the next versions . So...what is not working: The Music Control using the Vivosmart Band, which allows me, to Play/Pause, change volume, but also to change to previous and next title is not working correctly. Unfortunately until now it is not possible to change titles, because of a misinterpreting of the corresponding controls. Using "previous/next title" always result in the Play/Pause functionality. I've already tried it with the Default Google Music Player and here it works flawlessly. If you need any other information, please let me know. 11. At last I found a music player which have the FastForward/Rewind feature but I am very sorry to learn that the app totaly ignore when I am using my FastForward/Rewind buttons on my bluetooth Logitech H800 headset (everything else is working like volume up and down, next track and so on)
  12. Since I updated to the latest version of Poweramp, I have been having connectivity issues when listening to music on my galaxy s4 and Bluetooth headphones sennheiser mm11. When I unlock the phone while listening to music, the music stops playing in the headphones, and playes out loud from the phone speakers. The Bluetooth conenction is still active, as I can play/pause the music with the headset buttons. To fix the issue I have to restart the Bluetooth connection. I think this is a bug with the Poweramp app, as I only encountered the problem after the latest update through the play store. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  13. The reason why I LOVE Spotify is because I can have all of my music integrated in all of my devices with just few drag and drops. And all my music gets synced in high quality. The problem? Playback is not as good. And the lack of an equalizer makes it all worse. It doesn't help that I use a Bluetooth headset. (Motorola S11-HD Flex and Jaybird's Bluebuds X). I love Poweramp's equalizer, however. It's so powerful that it lets you tweak every bit of the audio output to boost the audio quality. Being a Bluetooth headset user, this is a gift from the heavens. There was some talk back in 2012 and Q1 2014 about Poweramp bringing integration with Spotify, but nothing has happened about it. What's been up with that? I insist: It would ROCK to have this on Poweramp simply because the app's Equalizer could make the music sound ORGASMIC! Guys (And with this I mean the developers), please! Consider adding it! I don't care if I have to pay an extra for that plug in. It'd be NEAT to have this! I understand they have an API so, I don't know how hard it'd be.
  14. "Ok Google" breaks Bluetooth audio during playback. Switches to phone speakers and is all choppy. Does not resume after the command is done. Have to turn Bluetooth on and off again to resume playback with Bluetooth. I have tried the different audio focus settings and none of them solves the issue. Newbie Questions

I have a couple of issues with Poweramp on my android phone (Samsung galaxy stellar - Android 4.1.2). 1. Often the album art was wrong. So I went into settings, deleted the cache, asked for it to auto-download album art, and then went back to listening for a while. Now, most tracks have no art, and the few which do are totally and utterly wrong. I've got albums with images of a newspaper article! I've got songs with random web page icons. I redid the same "delete cache" and there was some point where I could see a list of possible art choices for the current tune. All of them were absurd. Why does it not use the art from MediaPlayer? And why if I allow it to download its own art does it come back with essentially random images off of the internet?! [update] The fiules are organized on a media card as such: SCH-I200\Card\Music\Adele\19\01 Daydreamer.wma \Music\Artist\Album\#no. track-name.wma 2. Just bought a 2014 Mazda3 with the blue tooth enabled NAV/Entertainment system. My phone and the NAV coupled easily. And they seem to re-couple eveyr time I start up the car (the NAV tells me when it syncs its contact list from the phone). However, something isn't working correctly with Poweramp syncing with the bluetooth subsystem. If I listen to music from Poweramp, then leave my car & take the phone with me, when I return the phone refuses to play/pause/skip/repeat from the NAV system's controls (which worked initially). This is consistent. So - get in the car - select the samsung phone as audio source, listen for a while, leave with phone, come back, and now I can't get the phone to listen to the NAV controls until I manually press "play" in Poweramp. I have tried making sure that I don't close Poweramp. no die. I've tried to intentionally close Poweramp. same issue. I've tried various setting choices for blue tooth in Poweramp (auto resume, don't auto-resume. Wait for full resync. Higher process priority. Don't unload the service on idle.) Nothing makes any difference. 3. Even before I deleted all of the album art from Poweramp, the NAV system never showed any album art (and the current position within a track doesn't update / track the song correctly). Any ideas?
  17. Currently there is an option to start music (if the player is already started) upon Bluetooth connection. This option should be extended to include 'Start Music and/or Open player on Bluetooth Connect' and also 'Stop Music and/or Close player on Bluetooth Disconnect'. I use the player 99% of the time while driving so as soon as I get into my vehicle the vehicle Bluetooth connects and it would be nice to have the player open by the time I am actually ready to hit the road and also when I shut off my car and the Bluetooth disconnects the player closes. That would create a few less task for me and be more productive.
  18. My car stereo has options to enable shuffle and scan (10s per track) modes when playing via bluetooth. However, Poweramp doesn't seem to honor this setting yet. It would be nice if it was supported in a future version.

  20. I'm running PA v 2.0.9-550-play on my Nexus10 running with the stock ROM with Android 4.4.2. Whenever switching applications PA stutters on playback over bluetooth. It'll generally play fine except when switching songs. Other players on the same tablet don't have issues, and it doesn't seem to matter what else is running.
  21. Hi there, really hoping somebody can give me a secret-sauce recipe to fix my problem. Samsung Galaxy S4, recently updated itself to kernel 4.3 When playing techno or Pink Floyd where the songs are intended to blend together, Poweramp inserts a brief "pause" command when switching from one track to the next. I know it's a "pause" command because my car stereo is showing the command and then it quickly disappears as Poweramp moves on to the next track. This behavior does NOT occur with headphones plugged in. Strangely, I have seen Poweramp not insert the pause on a couple of occasions where the next track came up, but then the next couple songs come along on the gapless album and the pauses just come right back. Having it avoid the pause is the rarity, the brief pause is the dominant behavior about 19 times out of 20 (or worse). I tried messing with various lock settings, BT metadata, and even tried uninstalling random apps that I thought might have some access to Bluetooth. The only thing that I know for certain is that this problem started immediately after my phone updated from 4.2x to 4.3. Wish I could go back... Help, please? Tom
  22. Hi Guys: I hope you can help me with this absolutely infuriating problem. My Mazda 3 music via Bluetooth is paired with my S3 and I am using Poweramp. I have all the headset settings enabled and audio settings. However, when I hit the "Next track" control on my car steering wheel, power amp switches to the next track correctly, but immediately pauses playback on the next track! Why does it do that? (I have the pause setting set only for soft pause for navigation etc..) There is no issue with the iphone or when using Winamp. This is a phenomenal product...but it's really killing me with this one issue. Regards,
  23. I'm in the process of migrating to Poweramp from Meridian -- finally I can have bluetooth track info support, plus some other minor annoyances solved, and generally I like it better =) However, I found a small bug: the track info for the first track in an album (folder) is not sent to the bluetooth headset. It does not matter if you start it from a folder list or come to it using Prev/Next buttons (even when going Next to the next folder). All other tracks (2..Last) are displayed normally. Poweramp 2.0.9-build-548-play Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300), Android 4.3, Stock ROM Thanks in advance!
  24. I can understand the desire to have a music player resume playing a track I was listening to when it connects to BT. However, I do not understand why it would be desirable to have one's phone start a music player that was not open and start playing a random track from the phone's storage. This is what happens every time I get in my vehicle ('11 Toyota Tundra) with my HTC One. As soon as my phone connects to the truck's bluetooth, Poweramp starts up and starts playing an audio file of a recording I made of a training class. It was the same file every time, so 'random' in that I hadn't listened to or played that file in over a year. I deleted that file, and now it plays another training recording I had made. It seems Android OS is issuing a 'Play' command as soon as it detects a BT connection has been made and opens the default player and starts playing "something". To say this is maddening is an understatement. I get in and out of my truck maybe 10-15 times an evening due to my business, and every time, I hear this trainer's voice come on and have to kill the player. I've tried apps like Media Button Router and BT Connect & Stop, but while they sort of work some of the time and make this more tolerable, sometimes when they kill the player, I then can't play anything to my truck from any other app until I reboot my phone or re-start the vehicle to reset the BT connection. And then it happens again... My phone was doing this with the default 'Music' app, and when I saw that Poweramp had a setting to disable 'Resume on Bluetooth', I was hopeful. I was even more hopeful when Poweramp was the player that my phone started the next time I got in my truck. Unfortunately, however, disabling 'Resume on Bluetooth' doesn't seem to change anything. Now I just hear the same fellow's voice playing from Poweramp each time I get in my truck. I'm coming off of an HTC Rezound which did not do this (same vehicle). HELP!!! If you can solve this you are my hero and I'd pay much more than $5 for your registered version!!! I'm considering getting rid of my HTC One I just got if I can't figure this out, I can't tolerate how annoying this is! Thanks in advance! I posted this under 'Bugs' because it seems that setting was intended to prevent this from happening, but it doesn't. If it's something different, please move this post to Feature Request. Thanks! I'm happy to work with you directly and be your guinea pig if you want to test a fix. Phone: HTC One Android Version: 4.3 HTC Sense version: 5.0 Poweramp: 2.0.9-build-544-play
  25. My (Full featured/bought) Poweramp on my Sony Xperia ZL has a weird feature. Only in my car (Ford Focus) it starts playing via bluetooth, so far everything is ok. At the start of a new song within a second pause is pressed (actually visible) and immediately pressed again so the song continues. Problem is you have a second interrupt. This only happens with setting CyanogenMod Metachanged Intent on the selection 'Sony #3' in the bluetooth settings of Poweramp. I've selected this setting because only with this setting the song and artist info is shown on my car display. If I select any other option the info is gone, but the strange pause behaviour is also fixed.
