  1. Hey guys, I've had Poweramp for a long time, and I love it. While I still believe it's the best music app available, it's lacking one commonly used (and simple) feature: play count. Many people use play count and skip count to create playlists or to simply browse your library to see what you should remove from the collection. Please consider adding play/skip count to future versions of Poweramp! Thanks, and keep up the great work.
  2. Hello, I'm fairly new to Poweramp and reasonably techy. However it is all a bit overwhelming and I've reached a mental brick wall in trying to achieve something which I think should be quite straight forward (and indeed, in PlayerPro, is). I would like to sync my playlists in iTunes with Poweramp, to the point that every time I make a change in iTunes (and then sync using isyncr), the changes are reflected in Poweramp. Could someone explain exactly what the recommended workflow is here? I have obviously imported my playlists into Poweramp, and they all appear as a list with the prefix 'Imported'. I have had to turn auto-rescan off as only 75% of the songs would show up in the playlist (despite the files being there) - I know this is a separate, reported issue. But then when I update the playlist and resync, it's not reflected in the Imported playlist. I guess I can remove the playlist or reimport. But all of this seems like too many steps for something obvious, so I presume I'm missing a much simpler way of doing this. Can someone please advise? Thanks
  3. Dear Poweramp-Team, after hours spent with not finding a solution for proper playlist handling I decided to write this post. Problem: M3U-Playlists which are stored on the device automatically by MediaMonkey are empty when imported with Poweramp. Google Play Music recognizes those playlists without any problems, so how do these .m3u-Playlists have to look like in order for Poweramp to accempt them as well? I searched online and found this: http://forum.poweram...s-became-empty/ http://forum.poweram...d-since-update/ http://forum.poweram...dio-issues-ics/ http://forum.poweram...__fromsearch__1 http://forum.poweram...__fromsearch__1 http://forum.poweram...__fromsearch__1 I haven't found any practicable solutions. Also I read that you are planning to support system library playlists. When will this feature be ready? http://forum.poweram...es-in-progress/ - system library playlists support I am looking forward to your answer and to fully functional imported m3u-Playlists. Regards Dominik
  4. I know that you've got some unannounced features for version 3 but I'd like to see auto playlist intergration/support (automatically create playlists based on criteria like year or range of years for example) or at least be able to read .PLA files. I personally enjoy having Decades playlists (80's, 90's, etc) and it's difficult to keep up to date right now. Otherwise I like the app.
  5. I have a small problem with Poweramp 2.0.5 build 488. I use TuneSync to sync playlists from my huge iTunes library. The files and playlists are copied to my Samsung Galaxy S2 running Gingerbread. I have previously had Poweramp 1.48 installed to avoid the problem I am describing in this post, but it seems silly not to ask about it if it can be fixed. The names of all my playlists get the prefix "Imported -" before the name itself. On the older version of Poweramp this wasn't the case and it seems extremely silly to have 200+ playlists with this prefix in the names of all them (for example: instead of a playlist being named "Lana Del Rey - Born To Die" it's name is "Imported - Lana Del Rey - Born To Die".) The space to show the names in the playlist list is cramped enough on my phone without this prefix added to the name. These playlists are imported as system playlists. So it is for this reason I write on this forum, to ask if there is something I can do to fix this. Is there something I might have overlooked? It is for this reason alone that I mostly use the older version of the player. I can, of course, rename all of them one by one, but this is just even more silly to have to do this instead of fixing the source of the problem. My thanks to anyone who might have a suggestion on what might be done to fix this. Thank you in advance, Erik Aleksander Moe
  6. Team, I love your product and it is amazing but I have a couple of questions. 1) I created a playlist (basically all the files in a folder) and was wondering if there is a way to have the playlist automatically update when I add or remove files from that folder? I tried the rescan feature but it didn't update anything? Is there a way as I'm pointing to a podcast folder and as you know they get updated all the time...a lot of manual work. For that matter if anyone has suggestions or a work around i'd be very greatful! 2) Under the Playlists I see file-based playlists but it's empty. What is the purpose of this and how can it be used? Thank you everyone for all your time and efforts. Mark
  7. Hi, is there any playlist format that I can copy to my phone so that I can modify and use the playlist in Poweramp and copy it back to my computer WITHOUT using the import/export function in Poweramp? Thank you!
  8. The subject is about auto creating playlists based on beats-per-minute info from song tags. Also it would be perfect to have a possibility to compute bpm info and put it to song tags for those tracks w/o bpm info. I've tried a lot of players and found nothing even close to what I'm looking for.
  9. this may be a dumb question, but i can't find the answer anywhere. With a Samsung Galaxy IIs android: I want to import two playlists from the system player. Where, exactly, is the import/export function? I can't find it. Thankyouthankyouthankyou
  10. I have searched the forums, but there is nothing regarding the actual location of the playlists. I'm asking because after updating to 4.0.6 bld 508, then being told by Poweramp to downgrade back to 1.0.4, now Poweramp won't run at all. I need to uninstall and hopefully a reinstall will resolve the issue. But I don't want to lose my playlists. Does anyone know where the playlists are kept so I can save them off and restore them, please??
  11. Hi, I have purchased Poweramp, the first time I have encountered a media player that costs money and is actually worth the outlay. I am extremely impressed with the application, and being able to set things just right for my headphones is just brilliant. Howevere, I am finding myself with a perennial problem that the forum doesn't appear to have answered. I can't be the only person who uses their phone to create playlists right? What I am trying to do is move a playlist I created in app to my PC (Windows 7, for use with Windows Media Player 12). I have used the export feature which has created a .m3u8 file. My googling reveals that this should be supported by WMP and iTunes et al. Only thing is, it doesn't appear to work. I have moved the directories my music is stored in to the Music library on my PC, but neither WMP, iTunes, WinAmp and the venerable Foobar2000 all seem to want nothing to do with this file. I can only presume that I am missing some key thing and look to this forum for assistance with this, so please help me if you can! :-) My second issue, and completely different is the phone behaviour when using the volume rocker. Each time I use it, it powers the screen on, albeit to the lock, but when this is in your pocket you end up accidentally hitting the forward and back buttons as well as start and pause. Is there an option I've failed to check. I am using a Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100 UK on Orange UK. I have updated it to ICS from Gingerbread, but the phone is not rooted. How can I prevent using the rocker from turning on the screen, as I usually use it in my pocket. Thank you for your replies in advance. Borgmeister
  12. I love music very much,so I put many songs in my galaxy SII.I'm using WMP12 in my computer to play those songs, and I just found out that the playlist created by WMP12 can not be recongnized or used by Poweramp. This player can only using its own playlist?
  13. HI, i want to know can you display the album covers of every song in the playlist? It can make me easy and quickly to confirm every song thx
  14. Hi, I have a question. Why All songs from library don't have artist or album in list options?
  15. Hi yes I just recently got the Poweramp update the other day, Its my main line of playing music so all in all the Poweramp app only IMPORTS my playlist instead of syncing them. Is it possible for me to simply sync my music app with Poweramp?
  16. Up until recently my playlist has been working but something has happened and the playlist refuses to play the songs on the list. I was using an "imported playlist" unit it stopped working so I created a new playlist, within Power Amp, and that playlist; which has only 4 songs, refused to play. I start it on the first song but when that song is done the next song comes from outside the playlist.
  17. This is a great app and has just about everying I can think of but if this exists I cannot find it. What I'd like to see is a way of knowing how much playing time (in total) is in a particular play list. Thanks. -CiscoKid422
  18. Is there a way to make Poweramp stream mp3 from a m3u list like http://sound.xpt.de/sound.xpt.de.m3u from the Sound Expert? -p-
  20. I'm trying to transform my Ziio to a home media center which streams music to my audio equipment. I'm trying to control and limit it to just that, so that anybody who plays around with it has only the choice of pressing playlists in the home screen. When one presses a specific playlist, sometimes it begins playing it and sometimes it just doesn't (depends if the player was left in a menu, or if you paused it while playing a song). I would love to know if it's possible to force it to begin playing the playlist no matter what. It would be incredible if the playlist widget didn't necessarily have to open up Poweramp... just begin playing the song! Thanks!
  21. On my iPod, I use to have smart playlists I could build based on various different settings, so if I added a new metal song for example, it would automatically be added to my metal playlist. Or if I added a new song and rated it 5 stars, it would be added to my 5-star playlist. I used the rating system a lot I see PowerMP has a "Top Rated" playlist, but it seems to play anything I've rated. I accidentally rated some songs 5-star and didn't want them on my "Top Rated" playlist, so I just rated them 1-star. But the 1-star songs keep showing up. So two questions...can I totally erase the rating I give a song, and can I make "smart playlists" that will automatically add songs based on certain things, i.e, genre, rating, etc.? Thanks in advance for the help.
  22. Hello, I have 876 MP3's on my Driod R2D2, I copied ALL to specific playlist, (1971, 1975, 1990...etc) I had 8 playlist each a specific year. This took a few hours copying one at a time. Now I had to replace my driod and re-installed my licenced copy of Poweramp and have to do it all over again. My question is: Is there a way to tag multiple files to copy to a playlist or do I have to move EVERYONE one at a time again? Daniel
  23. This Idea popped into my head the other day and I haven't been able to get rid of it, so I thought I'd share it and see if anyone else thinks it's as good as I do... Currently in the main "player" screen there are two different ways of skipping forward and backward through tracks. You can either use the buttons below the album art, or you can swipe on the album art itself. However, in order to select a different track in the album or playlist you are currently listening to, it is necessary to go back into the library menus. A good way around this (I think) would be to remove the track skip when swiping on the album art and instead implement a feature whereby drawing from right to left on the album art gradually brought a track listing in from the left side of the screen. The track list would move in synchrony with the users finger, and would disappear if the finger was lifted. with the users finger moving right to left, and the track listing moving left to right, the two would eventually meet. The user would be able to choose the next track by moving his finger up or down until it rested over the desired track and then lifting, causing the track to play. Its quite a simple idea, and I've probably made it sound more complicated than it is, but it's surprisingly difficult to explain without pictures! but basically the track listing would always move in synchrony with the users finger, (however in the opposite direction). Thereby making selecting a different track from the current album or playlist extremely quick, and more of a "swipe gesture" than something requiring multiple taps. Let me know what you think, I think its a great idea, but then I might just be going mad!
  24. I was wondering why Poweramp does not recognize .pla playlists? Every other music program i used recognize them. And if this will not be supported, it would be great if you could make auto(smart)-playlists in Poweramp. Like: Id3 tag Genre = Hip Hop ID3 tag Year is between: 1990 and 2000 This playlist would then automatically put all the music in it which has those matching tags. or just: Year is between: 1970 and 1980 That would be a 70s music playlist. I use these things ALL the time in MusicBee, so it would be nice if i could just sync the .PLA playlists or create the auto-playlists myself in Poweramp.
