  1. Hello everyone, I'm posting here because I have a little problem pretty annoying. I'll explain you : at first I found out that the cover of the last song (in alphabetical order) in an album will define the cover of the album in album view. The other songs can be something else than the album cover (single cover, artwork, etc...), the cover of the last song will define it. What I am doing is I rename on my computer the song from which I want the cover defining the album art as "artist1 _ title". This way it puts the song all at the end behind the "artist1 - title" songs, and this song defines the album art in Poweramp, album view. But I would like to get rid of these "_" to only keep "-"... If you didn't understand anything I said until now that's normal because I'm french haha, but to summarize, is it possible to choose the song which gives its cover to the whole album in the "album view" mode in Poweramp ? Instead of the last song of the album giving its cover to the album. Don't hesitate to ask more details and if no one understands my point I'll make some screenshots. Thanks !
  2. Is there a way I can shuffle full albums? As in, an entire album will play from start to finish, then randomly another album plays from start to finish, and so on...
  3. Not high priority, but a couple simple things that would probably make Poweramp even nicer: Maybe I'm imagining things, but aren't the small artworks on the album selection rectangular shaped? This causes most covers to looked vertically squished. Unless you guys did this intentionally, it would probably look better square (as this is the most common dimension of covers.) On related topic: Option to disable Artist/Album Title text from that screen for those of us who recognize our covers without need for artist and album text shown below the artwork.
  4. I want to see how long an album is. Now, we could only see time of each track, not time of whole tracks. Not specific time needed, just display minutes along the number of track. ex) Artist Album (or Album) The Artist - Album Title 12 songs, 45 min(ute)s .... Filter
  5. i think the title explains itself, when i change the album art for an album it only changes the cover for the song that is playing, i dont know if that is a bug or is working as intended but if it is then could you please add a way to change the art for the entire album it really sucks to have to change cover by cover of a single album.

    Genre -> Tracks listing

When selecting to browse by "Genre", the only option is to browse by Genre Album. My request is to be able to simply list all the tracks. In a day and age where albums are becoming less and less prominent and most of my tracks are either singles or I just have one or two songs from each album, only having the option to list by album, most of which only contain one track and most of which I don't even recognize because I don't think of tracks in terms of albums anymore, seems quite outdated. The sort by artist/name/date added feature should obviously also be available when listing by Genre Track. Thanks for a great app!
  7. I wanted the "album art" form show up individually as it is saved in the tag song within the album folder. I really like albums art custom (some i do). And wanted the Poweramp with this function. I have an image in more detail to show an example of the problem I have without this function: (http://zip.net/btp1RZ) I personally appreciate the developer adding this option. Detail: The covers of music are stored inside mp3 files. I really wanted my idea in development in the application. Or least be considered useful or not for the application. Thanks!!
  8. Hi, I'm a new Poweramp user (great app!) and have been spending some time getting to know the app's features. As I import albums onto my phone (Samsung S4) I see that a single album on my laptop will create multiple "albums" in the Poweramp library. Usually, these additional albums all have different cover art and contain only one or two songs. I know this is not unique to Poweramp, I had a similar issue with MixZing, but since I've purchased this app and plan to use it exclusively I figured I should know how to get this library issue cleared up. I'm guessing it has something to do with how the individual mp3 or flac song files are tagged. If I understand the threads I've been reading, tagging is like metadata or headers for the file content to order it in a logical fashion within whatever program is doing the ordering. But that's about all I know or have guessed at this point. So, if anyone is familiar with the above problem specifically, or can recommend a general primer on Poweramp features, I would be grateful. Thanks.
  9. Poweramp version - 2.0.10-build-571-play Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) Android version 4.4.2 After correcting the dates of a few songs and albums on my PC via MediaMonkey, the albums still appear out of order when ordered by year in Artist --> Artist Albums. The years have been correctly updated (verified through app and on PC) but are still sorted in their previous order. Example: I had correctly labelled album A as 1967 and album B as 1968, but incorrectly labelled album C as 1969. Before fixing on PC appeared in order A, B, C Updated album C tracks to correct date of 1965 via PC, but when still appear in order ABC when memory card reinserted and Poweramp started back up again rather than CAB.
  10. Hi, I am sending my phone to manufacturer for reformatting it. I am also changing my memory card(which currently has all the songs) and switching to a different memory card. How can I backup all the album art for all these songs? Also, is there any way to backup Poweramp cache? Thanks
  11. Device specifications: ● Android 4.4.2 ● TouchWiz 19505XXUFNC4 ● Galaxy S4 19505 (rooted) Poweramp specifications: ● 2.0.10-build-571-play (Full Version) Whenever I hold down the album art display, search for a new picture using the in app search feature and select one I want to display, nothing happens. All that is displayed is the stock "Poweramp" picture. The same thing happens if I try choosing from the "Pick From Gallery" option. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Or is it a bug? Thanks.
  12. It's interesting for me to know the resolution and the size of the file that is max, because that was a problem for me to use very large album art (more then 3000*3000 px and more then 5 mb)
  13. You should be able to view playlists by Album, in the same manner you would navigate the "Albums". Example: https://i.imgur.com/v22IvHH.png Similar to iTunes: http://imgur.com/1v2Kay3 If you have a playlist of say, your favorite Albums this would make playing them much easier to navigate and aesthetically pleasing. It's a feature I've always wanted on my phone, and I yet to see anyone implement it on a mobile music player.
  14. I have some Albums that I really like to listen to regularly, however I don't like having to dig through all my albums just to find one. Is there currently a way to set a playlist so it is viewed as a list of Albums (as if you chose "Albums" instead of "Playlists")?
  15. First of all, I hope I'm not posting a duplicate request, because I feel like I'm not the only one that wants this, but I haven't found a similar post. Since I am using a transparent theme, which allows me to see my Launcher background when I am in the music player, I would love a feature for toggling the album art region completely, so it would show the theme element behind it, instead of the Poweramp logo (in my case, the launcher background) . I wouldnt mind the Poweramp logo altogether, but it's all surrounded by a black square ⬜. It would be really cool to have this option as a toggle. So when I get bored of my transparent theme, I would definitely want my album art back. Also, for the album art, I would really love this feature, too: http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/3969-embed-album-art/
  16. Poweramp V 2.0.9 558 play Samsung S4 mini 4.2.2 The sorting of albums appears problematic. On windows 7 explorer my files are tagged by Album, Title, Album Artist, etc... However, when I use Poweramp and select Album, I see like 60 songs sorted as individual albums by the "Title" tag instead of the "album" tag shown in windows (i.e. Poweramp thinks the "title" tag is the "album" tag). On windows, using windows media player or winamp, have never had this problem. Accordingly, instead of having 1 album with 60 tracks I have 60 albums with 1 track. Not very suitable for searching. All those tracks are in 1 folder and I am searching by library and not folders. FYI, some albums are correct and sorted properly but others are not. FIGURED IT OUT - SOME FILES TRANSFERRED INCORRECTLY AND DID NOT HAVE PROPER TAGS.

    Enqueue/play albums in order

I've noticed when I click and hold on an artist/folder with multiple albums/subfolders, the tracks are placed in the list based purely on track #. So all the ones are together, then all the twos, etc. The only way to enqueue an artist so that the albums play back to back in the proper track order seems to be enqueueing one album at a time, which can be tedious for an artist with lots of albums. I know its easy to swipe up or down to jump from album list to another, but it would be cool to just play an artist and have all the tracks in order.

    Google Search Album Art

Half the time when Download an album art it isn't the one I want and there isn't a way to earch manually. In N7 player you can do a custom Google Image search for album arts. This feature and it's creative UI are really the only thnigs N7player has over Poweramp.
  19. I bought this app today and I must say that this is probably the best android music player there is. Great job . At the moment im adding all the missing album art to my music collection. The built in search for album art works pretty good and I can get like 50-60% of the missing album art, which is great as most of my collection is pretty unknown. What I miss is an option to browse through google images and pick one manually. So what I would like to see is a small built in browser to search through google images so that you can pick images manually, if the suggested album art doesnt match. The option to edit the search terms for the album would be great too. Would love to see something like this in a future update!
  20. With disk and other storage space plentiful and cheap, I decided to switch to a lossless audio format for all of my future ripping and downloads, and picked FLAC. (You're welcome to knock my choice if you want, but that's not the reason for this note.) Background info: I'm ripping CDs on a Win 7 machine and uploading to a Samsung Galaxy S3 (for now; the point is to have a file format that I can keep around for years and be able to play on just about any machine, now and in future). The Galaxy S3 is the Poweramp machine that's giving me trouble. I'm running V2.0.9, build 534, in paid mode. I downloaded dBpoweramp to create the FLAC files, ripped a Vivaldi CD, and uploaded to the S3. Poweramp refused to recognize the album or tracks, even though it has no trouble recognizing MP3 albums and displaying them in its library as soon as I transfer them. However, when I located the files in a file browser on the S3 and clicked on a track, the file browser offered to let me open the track in Poweramp (and five other players, of course) so I did, and Poweramp played the track just fine. Also, when I clicked on the Poweramp menu and then on Info/Tags, Poweramp displayed full metadata including the album name that it refuses to bring into its library even after multiple scans and full rescans. After some experimenting around, I discovered that I could get Poweramp to bring my FLAC album into its library list by going to the Android application manager, deleting ALL of Poweramp's data, and re-building my library listing (not the audio files) from scratch. (No, Poweramp's re-scan did NOT work.) You might think that, with one FLAC album now in my library, I wouldn't have the same trouble bringing in another one, but No, a second album didn't incorporate into the library until I did the Android application-lobotomy trick again. So, I can now build and use a library of FLAC albums but only at the cost of re-setting all of my options by hand after every addition. Yucko. One last thing to note: I use the Windows file browser to drag-n-drop the album (directory) from the PC to the S3. When I transfer the MP3 album, it just goes, but when I transfer the FLAC album, it asks me if I want to convert all of the files since my phone won't play FLAC files. (Well, it wouldn't if I didn't have Poweramp, but the transfer facility is kind of dumb.) So I say No, Don't Convert and it (presumably) transfers all of the files intact. The Poweramp metadata display confirms that they're FLACs, but if the transfer facility is also doing something to set the album up for cataloguing, it would be happening for the MP3s but not for the FLACs. So - Have I discovered a bug, or did I overlook some simple setting that would let those FLAC albums slither into my library without getting hung up? Is anyone else out there using FLAC files with a Galaxy S3, with or without trouble? Suggestions appreciated. Thanks! -- Glimmersdad
  21. Anyone have a similar problem with this app on other XHDPI devices or other high-resolution screens? The embedded artwork is sharp and high quality but it appears blurry in the Now Playing screen in Poweramp. Please note that while I have the art currently magnified at 1.12x, it is similarly blurry at the original 1.00x setting. Here is a screenshot from my device (1920x1200 resolution) http://i.imgur.com/aKMXcDg.png Here is what the embedded album art in this file is (1080x1080 resolution) http://i.imgur.com/L2fnuCH.jpg edit: I would post the images directly but they are very large and it doesn't seem like this board software automatically resizes posted images into thumbnails. Is there any way to fix or alleviate this issue? Thanks!
  22. Hello guys, let me start by telling you what an awesome job you have done. This is the first app that i had bought and it was totally worth it. Nevertheless, i have a little request. Would it be possible if the album covers downloaded through Poweramp were saved into each song information so they will be able to be seen also in my PC (Windows media player)? I think the fact that you can download the covers through the app is amazing, but it is a pity that you can not keep those images if you copy the song from your phone to your PC. The same goes to the edited tags (autor, album ...), it would be awesome if you guys let us keep those modifications so we can enjoy them wherever we want to. My best wishes to you all.
  23. If I select an album and play it, it plays from track 1 to the end, say, 12. I'm usually on my bike, and listening through headphones with play controls. If I hit 'play' after the album has ended, I expect the album to start again from the top, however - because the final track (12) is shown and thus selected, it'll just play this again. This feels unintuitive... Suggestion: Could it be an option that after an album finishes, the player stops, then the focus changes back to whatever the user decides, either: - Final track (current default) - First track of current list (e.g. track 1 of album, or first track of a playlist) - First track of next album - Begin shuffle of all collection - Anything else?
  24. Hey guys, I love Poweramp, but I really miss the option to show all songs of an artist. When I want to have a list of all the songs of one artist, there should be the option "show all songs", as alternative to the albums. For example: I have 3 songs on my phone by artist x, but they are all from different albums. So when I want to listen to these three songs, I have to browse through the three albums, that annoys me so hard... Well sometimes I just feel like listening to one artist, not just to one specific album of an artist, so it would be simple to have the option to see all the album songs in one list together. Any other player software has that simple option "Show all songs" first above the albums Please add that feature, I don't want to have to switch to another player just because of that stupid feature... Thanks in advance! Greetings
