  1. Currently when you apply the album sorting the tracks of an album are sorted by title rather than track#. The same happens with the artist/album sorting. I think it would be better that when you sort a playlist by album or artist/album the sorting respects the track# of the songs. So an album that looks like this: 1. Charlie 2. Beta 3. Alpha Will look like that when sorted in a playlist instead of looking like this: 3. Alpha 2. Beta 1. Charlie
  2. Hey everyone, I would like to request a feature which may not be of much importance but could improve the app for people like me. Would it be possible to create the following option?: mass-edit the info/tags of a song. Reason 1: switch of mobile phone. Because when I switch the mobile phone, the edited tags won't stay and when I have to re-edit them again it would be a pain in the ass to get a cleaned up albumspace again. Reason 2: Editing tags of whole album which weren't handled properly. E.g. most of the timr when you download an album from youtube, the album-name, songtitle and artist is wrongly configured. In order to clean that up I usually go through every song and edit out. But coming to reason one... this is just way to cumbersome. Thanks in advance!
  3. Hi, This is regarding album art Embedding feature. This would be nice if you add this because whenever we switch phones or reinstall app, all album arts are gone. This feature is already on role in blackplayer etc. Also it is important to add option to embed already downloaded album art.
  4. With disk and other storage space plentiful and cheap, I decided to switch to a lossless audio format for all of my future ripping and downloads, and picked FLAC. (You're welcome to knock my choice if you want, but that's not the reason for this note.) Background info: I'm ripping CDs on a Win 7 machine and uploading to a Samsung Galaxy S3 (for now; the point is to have a file format that I can keep around for years and be able to play on just about any machine, now and in future). The Galaxy S3 is the Poweramp machine that's giving me trouble. I'm running V2.0.9, build 534, in paid mode. I downloaded dBpoweramp to create the FLAC files, ripped a Vivaldi CD, and uploaded to the S3. Poweramp refused to recognize the album or tracks, even though it has no trouble recognizing MP3 albums and displaying them in its library as soon as I transfer them. However, when I located the files in a file browser on the S3 and clicked on a track, the file browser offered to let me open the track in Poweramp (and five other players, of course) so I did, and Poweramp played the track just fine. Also, when I clicked on the Poweramp menu and then on Info/Tags, Poweramp displayed full metadata including the album name that it refuses to bring into its library even after multiple scans and full rescans. After some experimenting around, I discovered that I could get Poweramp to bring my FLAC album into its library list by going to the Android application manager, deleting ALL of Poweramp's data, and re-building my library listing (not the audio files) from scratch. (No, Poweramp's re-scan did NOT work.) You might think that, with one FLAC album now in my library, I wouldn't have the same trouble bringing in another one, but No, a second album didn't incorporate into the library until I did the Android application-lobotomy trick again. So, I can now build and use a library of FLAC albums but only at the cost of re-setting all of my options by hand after every addition. Yucko. One last thing to note: I use the Windows file browser to drag-n-drop the album (directory) from the PC to the S3. When I transfer the MP3 album, it just goes, but when I transfer the FLAC album, it asks me if I want to convert all of the files since my phone won't play FLAC files. (Well, it wouldn't if I didn't have Poweramp, but the transfer facility is kind of dumb.) So I say No, Don't Convert and it (presumably) transfers all of the files intact. The Poweramp metadata display confirms that they're FLACs, but if the transfer facility is also doing something to set the album up for cataloguing, it would be happening for the MP3s but not for the FLACs. So - Have I discovered a bug, or did I overlook some simple setting that would let those FLAC albums slither into my library without getting hung up? Is anyone else out there using FLAC files with a Galaxy S3, with or without trouble? Suggestions appreciated. Thanks! -- Glimmersdad
  5. It would be nice if you could change whole album info at once, for instance I had an album with the wrong year on it and there were 26 tracks so to change it you'd have to do each track individually. I remember you could do whole albums at a time on the old version so not sure why it's no longer available, unless it's there somewhere and I'm missing it? Thanks.
  6. An album artist's albums are currently sorted by alphabet. I think you should be able to change that to, for example, sorted by year. I'll attach a quick mockup.
  7. I just had my balls busted in a different section of the forum pages for not putting this in feature requests, even though the point was that I thought that it had to have already been an existing feature. I am toast after those go 'rounds, so forgive me for just doing a copy/paste of my original post, even though it wasn't worded as a feature request. And if you want any justification for why, please just refer to the posts in that other section. Thanks. 1) This seems like it would be such a fundamental option, that I am guessing that I am missing something in the settings (there are a lot). If I go to an artist, I click on the "three dot" menu icon and what I would intuitively expect is the option to choose (or assign) a genre for the artist. A genre that would then override any inconsistencies down through their catalog of albums and songs (like when a band of one genre is the anomaly on a soundtrack dominated by another genre). 2) while I figure that the above option is just flipping a switch in my settings, this second (and third) part(s) are me wondering how something related to artist genre would work. For an example, if I have all BobMarley as reggae, what would happen if I imported Marley tracks from sources that have the songs/albums miscategorized as a different genre? Would they automatically be corrected when they are imported during the next rescan? Or would I have to go back and again assign reggae as the genre of Bob Marley? 3) Sticking with Marley, there are many "dub" versions of his songs and dub is a very distinct subgenre in reggae. So I would manually add a secondary (sub) genre, so it would be entered as:"reggae//dub" So let's say that I started with 2 Bob Marley albums and I set Marley's artist genre to reggae and then add dub to ~10% of the song genres on each album. What would happen to those 10% of songs that were reading as "reggae//dub" if a few months later I realized that I had imported Marley tracks from various sources that had incorrect genres assigned, which may (depending on the answer to question 2) require me to run the artist genre again? Would it change all reggae//dub tracks to simply "reggae," or would it recognize that these songs already have the correct genre (just with an additional genre added)? Sorry if this isn't clear, I can explain further, if needed. I have worked most of my life in music, which later evolved into integrity analysis of databases as the industry shifted on line. Poweramp seems like a perfect player for me, but I just need to figure out some of the nuances of it's various functions. Peace, Ras
  8. Album art should be fit if they're too large. 1280×1750. Doesn't fit fully.
  9. Whenever I have an album name with the format *.* Poweramp seems to overwrite the artist name with this same tag. Example. Correct tag: Artist: Singer Person / Album: awesome.com will display on Poweramp as: Artist: awesome.com / Album: awesome.com. I do not have this issue on any other player. Sorry if this issue has been brought up, but when I searched the forum it was difficult to find and specify.
  10. Would it be possible to request for a simple sort option. I just wanted my music to play continuously like an album while on a playlist. A way that an album should play like. From Album > artist > track no. (not by title). There is currently no way to do this. I like my music to play from track number rather than from the title alphabetically. Thanks
  11. I've noticed that some albums would have many different album arts within the album. Is it possible to have 1 standard art for the entire album? Also some albums are split, even though the tags have the same album name.
  12. Hey there, Everything's been pretty good so far with v3 for me. The only thing I'm having issues with is the "By year" list option inside of a folder. On v2, I always had it set that way, and it would have the songs for the album in the order they originally appeared on the album itself. Now with v3, it lists all the songs in alphabetical order per year. It gets even more confusing when a band has had multiple releases in a year. I've been using the "By album" list option in the meantime, but I prefer to have the albums in chronological order of release, which it does not. At least it can give me the tracks in the order that they appear on the album. I couldn't seem to find any fix in the settings, so if anyone could help out, it would be most appreciated.
  13. Hey guys, I'm on the beta build 797 and I can't for the life of me figure out how to change lists/albums from the now playing screen WITHOUT pro controls. The tutorial states "swipe more to change list" what in the world does swipe more mean?
  14. I've made by myself a widget using Tasker to make some intent to Poweramp API + KWGT for the graphic interface. In this way I'm able to move quickly from shuffle all to shuffle artist to album to last added... Why do not provide such similar function in the application? Because the screen recorded video is bigger than the limit to upload, I cannot attach a sample. If you want to see it, do not esitate to ask me valerio.iglio@gmail.com
  15. I love the visualisations but I never use them because I prefer to see the album art. If the visualisations could be transparent with the album art behind it then this would be ideal, especially with some of the more subtle visualisations.
  16. I'm not sure if this is even possible but maybe someone can advise me: When I'm listening to a playlist it would be great if there was a way to advance to next album in the current playlist. Ideally I would like the option to use the >>> key to go to next album rather than to next playlist. Why? Well, my playlists consist of many complete albums (as opposed to a random collection of unrelated tracks) and it would be convenient to occasionally skip to the next album in the currently selected playlist. (Actually I would never want to skip to the next playlist on the fly.) I have tried to research this but my search terms were too generic to provide targeted results. I understand that the more typical content of playlists is unrelated individual tracks and therefore there would be no purpose to the functionality I'm seeking however for some users it would be a valuable feature. Is there some way to configure this option? Thanks for any input Andy
  17. Hi, I'm using alpha-build-703-play on a an LG G5 with Android 7.0 Just developed a bug after months of daily use which has been resolved by phone power down. Shuffle mode - All songs - worked as normal until play was paused and restarted then the shuffle mode only shuffled songs from the last album I played, not the last album the shuffle mode was paused on but the last album I had selected to play through a few days before. It would still shuffle those songs but only those. Seems okay for now since turning the phone off and on - closing the app only did not fix the issue. Regards Alex
  18. I've been developing a companion application for Poweramp using its developer API https://github.com/maxmpz/powerampapi Unfortunately I've been stuck with retrieving artwork through the API. I can successfully listen to the "PowerampAPI.ACTION_AA_CHANGED" broadcast and I can get the URI or the Bitmap from the given intent, this is working fine (I can display the artwork for the currently playing track), however I would like to get the album artwork for any track, not just the "currently playing" track. In my companion application I am listing the following: All Songs (files) Albums Artists Genres Playlists Queue Top rated (top_rated/files) Recently added (recently_added/files) I can successfully get the folder_id from the files and from there I can get the folders.thumb for the file location of the artwork, however this location doesn't seem to work for me. Is there an easier or simpler way of getting the album artwork?
  19. What really will be fine is to reduce the Album by showing them only if there are - for example- 5 songs. ( in settings- of course ) I have a lot of Alben only with one song and so searching is very complicatet becauce of so much of the album, -sorry for my bad englisch... kind regards gandalf
  20. app version : alpha-build-703-play (officially bought) phone model : Galaxy S4 LTE-A / KitKat 4.4.2 tag encoding : Korean (EUC-KR) When 'f' and 'i' (only when small letter both) include in Album Title in a row Title goes left-justified automatically and the last letter of Title disappears! For example, title of Oasis' first album Definitely Maybe becomes... Definitely Mayb By undergoing trial & error (like deleting title from end to first, alphabet one by one) I found the cause of this error. It's all about 'f' and 'i'! You already know that Album title should be middle-justified. But only when, exactly 'f' and 'i' as small letter meet together the error occurs! Always! I can't fix it with internal option so I make a topic. This error occurs in not only Artist Album section but Album section and also folder name! I got screenshot for it so plz check it and let me know how to fix it.
  22. Okay I don't know if developers are working on it but I think tha is a good idea that we can edit album tag just one time and not one song by one. Nice day everybody
  23. For some reason the album art gets stretched out on the Lockscreen. Is there any way to fix this? http://imgur.com/efzACQ
  24. As much as I love Poweramp, the one thing that bugs me is the fact that two albums by the same artist with the same release year always get sorted alphabetically. For instance, I have the albums "High Voltage" and "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" by AC/DC, which both came out in the same year. However, HV was released first, but DDDDC appears first in the sorting under AC/DC's page of albums. Is there a way to fix this, or perhaps a certain way I should be labeling these albums in Windows Explorer? It's only a minor annoyance, but I think it's worth posting about. Thanks for the help.
  25. Hi, Let this be quick, i tried everything, every option, the list shows filenames, which is cool, so does the player ui, but then. The widget, and when I search for album cover myself, it doesn't include the numbers in the song name. For example : 3000 Miles will show up as miles - artist name And 2am- artist will show as am-artist And, I don't how the Id3 tags, I even make sure they are deleted, cause I find them annoying.
