  1. Lets get serious here folks. Virtually every credible Android app has a backup and restore solution, either using the Google account, an app-specific online account or save/restore to a local SD card. Poweramp does not. After spending months tagging ratings on songs, updating album art in some cases, dialing in equalizer settings, didding the many many settings within the app, don't even think about resetting the device to factory default or replacing it. All your personalizations are gone. (I don't use Titanium backup - I don't root my phone.) So either don't bother with using ratings or loading album art since all of your work is throwaway. Typically you don't get to find that out until you try to restore your device, then it’s a slap in the face. Now, on the hand, the developers could chose to solve the problem that they claim is difficult. I've developed enough software over the years to truly believe that a robust solution could be made. Perhaps its just priorities. I think it’s a basic, fundamental feature that every credible app should have. This is a serious gap.
  2. Hi, This is one feature I would want to add. Right now, many songs' actual album art are not found by Poweramp's album art search. What I get is mostly some video's thumbnail or similar incorrect images. There's no option from where anyone can add additional sources/websites where the search can be addressed. Other than downloading and adding the album cover (which isn't saved permanently, and is an old feature request), there isn't much that could be done.
  3. Hi Folks, I love Poweramp and have been using it for years. Definitely my favorite music player for Android. I'm not sure if a lot of people would like a feature like this, but I think it would be quite a unique feature. I have a lot of music and I'm consistently adding files from various free sources and think it would be cool to have a plugin for MusicBrainz integration. Ideally, you can select your music files and compare them to MusicBrainz and clean up the ID3 tags / download album art / rename and move the .mp3 files to a specified directory. On a PC I can update the ID3 tags, get album art and have MusicBrainz clean up the filenames and put them in a specified folder and I think this feature would be great. As an example it'll pull the ID3 tags and art and when writing, the program changes the directory and file names to something like Music / Artist / Album / ## (song number) - XXXXXX (song name).mp3 . That way if I download an .mp3 to my 'downloads' folder and it populates in Poweramp, I can select the file and have it sync with the ID3 tags and have Poweramp move the file over to my Music folder on my external SD card where I have more storage space and fully clean up and write the folders with the artist/album/ ## XXXX.mp3 naming convention. I know it seems complicated, but it could be another great feature as Android doesn't have any particularly good music management apps for cleaning up a lot of music and Poweramp could be the first. It doesn't even have to be MusicBrainz, I'm just using it as an example. Anyway, thanks for reading the rant and hopefully it's something other people like and is something to consider.
  4. The downloaded album art are not available when they are send or copied elsewhere. Pls include this feature.
  5. Hi there, Being new to the Android family, I instantly fell in love with Poweramp as it fulfilled all my music needs. Recently I was tinkering in the settings and saw the option for testing of the new version. I enrolled and downloaded the alpha 3 version. Here are some of the bugs I've found. 1. The Poweramp lock screen doesn't work at all. 2. The album art sometimes goes missing in the notification area 3. DVC doesn't seem to be working in the Hi-Res output. Also the audio is crackling a bit. Reducing the sampling rate doesn't work. No crackling issue with Hi-Res output disabled. 4. You have to pause-play the current track for it to be scrobbled. Device details- Lenovo Vibe K4 Note (Vibe X3 Lite) running on Marshmallow 6.0 Do let me know if further information is required for debugging.
  6. I can see the albumarts only when I turn on the screen of a phone which has paired of my Samsung Gear S2. If I turn off the screen, I can't see any album arts on my Samsung Gear S2. Is this a fixable issue?
  7. Hello all, First I would like to apologize if there already is a topic such as this (I was not able to find one) I am using Poweramp on my Galaxy S5 running PhoeniX ROM. For a while now I've noticed that Poweramp will not find any album art, I can see the circle spinning for about 2 seconds, but then it stops and nothing is displayed. I just updated to Poweramp 2.0.10 (build 587) but the issue is still the same. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!
  8. This bug is present since i purchased Poweramp years ago. When the Album Art is a wide image, the buttons to switch songs are disappearing. The attached image says more than 1000 words. Please fix this by setting max-width for widget album art. Thanks.
  9. On the old version of Android before I upgraded my phone the lock screen would have a zoomed in full screen album art that looked quite neat - I didn't see it very often because I had a cover that unlocked the screen when opened. Now that I'm on a later version of Android - Marshmallow - I don't get much on the lock screen. Is this down to the OS rather than Poweramp, or am missing some settings that can bring it back?
  10. The queue seems to have a few issues that need to be looked at. I can make one just fine and it starts playing as it should when my current song ends. But after updating to the newest version (build 702) I can no longer swipe on the album art to change song when the queue is playing. It doesn't seem to make any difference what songs are in it, how many are in it or where it currently is in the queue. I can only change by clicking the buttons. As soon as the queue ends swiping works as normal. Another issue is that album arts aren't displayed correctly in the queue. It displays one album art for the entire queue (art for the song that was supposed to be played with no queue). Locking and unlocking the device seems to fix the art. EDIT: New issue has arising when I went to test it one last time. Now the queue only plays the first and last song, it skips over everything else. After restarting the app I've not been able to replicate it sadly, though it did happen 3 times before I restarted the app.
  11. Poweramp version and build number:2.0.10 build number 580Your device model:Galaxy S4Your Android version:5.0.1All right so this problem has been reported before but it extends to Android Wear, Poweramp will show black album art for music controls on Android Wear unless you turn on your phone screen. This does not happen with other players or even when using Poweramp Remote 4 Android Wear.
I can see the album arts only when I turn on the screen of a phone which has paired of my Samsung Gear S2. If I turn off that, I can't see any album arts on my Samsung Gear S2. Is this a fixable issue?
  13. I purchased Poweramp and when I tried to play my music it does not show anything about the track except a track number. I downloaded my music from Google play on my phone on my SD card. Everything shows correctly on Google Play. Is there anyway to correct this. I can't see my Albums, Album Art, or the Names of art and song. I am a newbie of Poweramp and only used Google play for music
  14. Not all or even most, but a significant amount of the album art that downloads for a song is either: 1) the back cover 2) a snapshot of the band 3) another band's album cover 4) random picture I'd love to be able to reject this art and individual basis and have the system attempt to find more relevant album cover. Imo, that'd make Poweramp perfect. Just my .02
  15. Hello Poweramp team! My tracks are tagged with an image which it's size is higher than 5MB and Poweramp doesn't show that there's a picture tagged in. Poweramp can't show album arts which their size is higher than 5MB. Can you make the app support album arts higher than 5MB? I'm using HTC One (M8) and I've purchased the app.
  16. Hi, Thank you for your great work on such remarkable audio player. My idea is to create live wallpaper that would show album art of currently playing song if song has cover and in options one could select a default wallpaper picture that would be shown when current song has no cover or when Poweramp stops. So cover would be shown also on most lockscreens (like default aosp lockscreen that just fades original background). I think it would be great. Good luck!
  17. I think it would be nice if the album art for each song were displayed next to its name when browsing MP3 files in folder view. This helps me find songs more quickly.
  18. I noticed that when you select a high res cover, it is stored under the selected_aa folder with a name composed by the track artist and the album title, This is wrong, because in compilation albums each song has a different track artist. It should be stored based on the album artist instead of the track artist so it is consistent for all songs. And on those compilation albums, the app does not find the downloaded cover to display, my guess is that it is related to this issue, because it would not know which is the correct name of the cover file in selected_aa. Runing on Samsumg SII, with cyanogenmod android v4.4.4
  19. Right now the way to change the album art is to play it and long tap on the cover, this allows you to download hig res covers which are stored then in the app selected_aa folder. After downloading a lot of covers this way I am getting tired of having to play the album to get to this function. It would be nice to have a way to manage the album art from the album list or library grid views, maybe also by long tapping on the album entry. When I say manage I mean I want these functions to be available: Download high res cover (which is what we have now)Download cover from a specific, user input, URLTransfer the downloaded cover to the album folder (and remove it from selected_aa)Reset cover to folder artRescan album art (sometimes I've seen album art not displayed even if there is art in the folderSome of these I would love to have them also in bulk for all albums (like the rescan and the transfer)
  20. The rating we make on songs they are not permanent once we reinstall Poweramp all the ratings are gone..and the same thing happens with album art....these things should be emebedded in the mp3 files itself, just like in windows
  21. I owe a humungous thankyou to the guy who posted this comment: http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/3256-how-to-change-default-album-art/?p=16057 I must admit, I LOVED the ³ app for playing music but it always annoyed me that it didn't have the option to play by folder Discovered Poweramp has that option so downloaded the trial and then payed for it. THEN I discovered it kept giving me the wrong Album art, which annoyed me no end cos at least in my old player I could CHOOSE, so I spent most of today googling and trying all kindsa weird things to sort it out and finally stumbled across the link above. I downloaded Mp3tag on my PC and embedded my chosen album art into my MP3 files and then RE-transferred them to my phone Now it works like a dream Thank you very much Willem
  22. I wanted the "album art" form show up individually as it is saved in the tag song within the album folder. I really like albums art custom (some i do). And wanted the Poweramp with this function. I have an image in more detail to show an example of the problem I have without this function: (http://zip.net/btp1RZ) I personally appreciate the developer adding this option. Detail: The covers of music are stored inside mp3 files. I really wanted my idea in development in the application. Or least be considered useful or not for the application. Thanks!!
  23. Hey, I just got this player and so far I'm loving it. The only thing I can see that it's missing is that when browsing the Library by Artist, no album artwork is displayed; just a generic icon. This seems a little odd, given how common this feature is in other media players, to the point where I'm wondering if this is a bug? If not could you consider adding this? Thanks for the great music player!
  24. Apparently Poweramp used fixed number of rows in grid mode. While this is looked okay in phones, this is a realy big waste of screen when used in tablet. To illustrate my point, here is a screenshot of Poweramp in my tablet (Xiaomi Mipad, 4:3 1536x2048) It would be nice if this behavior is changed in tablet. You can also make user to be able to control the number of rows used in grid mode.
  25. Hi, Does anybody have any tips or tricks to getting cuesheets to display a thumbnail in the Folder view? I have Folder.jpg image files in each folder along with the *.cue file and the *.mp3, and have also tried Cover.jpg and AlbumArt.jpg filenames for the image. The image is picked up fine by the main player screen, but is not used in the folder listing. Normal albums (folders containing *.mp3 files & a Folder.jpg) display a thumbnail as I would expect. The end result is quite untidy - some folders have thumbnails, some don't. I'm positive this used to work in an older version of Poweramp. I'm currently using version 2.0.10-build-571-play (Full Version) of Poweramp on Android 4.4.4 on a HTC Desire Eye.
