  1. I've seen plenty referrals to music automatically starting to play when the phone is off and in your pocket, but unfortunately the solutions shared don't do it for me. Is there any new insight about how to completely remove Poweramp from the logon screen on Android 11? I never asked it to be there and have all relevant options toggled off. Still my monster machine insists. Tnx... drftr
  2. I know... But since I'm permanently travelling I'd like to get rid of my tablet sooner rather than later. So I'm looking for the best compromise. It doesn't have to do anything more than iTunes really. I'll add Auto Tagger to my shortlist and hope others throw in comparable or better options. drftr
  3. Anyone aware of a great Android-based app for editing tags? Like many things on Android they all seem to suck one way or the other. drftr
  4. Exactly. I used it a few days ago to do an overnight battery test for my Bluetooth headphones. Simply click all the albums you want to play and they're added to the queue. After you're done playing simply delete the queue. It's really very simple and effective. drftr
  5. I've had this with other players in the past and got around it by putting the disk number behind the title. So I have: Songs In The Key Of Life [1] Songs In The Key Of Life [2] In addition to that I fill in disk info like 1/2 and 2/2. Hope you'll find the underlying problem though... drftr
  6. Thanks - no day without learning something new! drftr
  7. I had I had tried that one but that way the track number also disappears. In my tagging the track number is not part of the song title so that was/is puzzling me. Do you know any other way to hide the format without throwing out the track numbering at the same time? Also, but not related at all, since you seem to have used the app before 😉 do you know if there's a way to automatically create an export of the settings, like when closing the app or so? I do it manually now but since I'm experimenting so much I wouldn't mind an automatic function - should it exist. drftr
  8. Hi all, Is there a way somehow to hide the file format extension behind a song name? Like seeing "Have a great weekend" instead of "Have a great weekend.mp3"? Or would this be skin functionality instead? Tnx... drftr
  9. I personally hope the listing of albums directly under genre will remain as is because that's the way I'm listening. I actually have the year before the album title to be able to listen to albums withon a genre in the order they were recorded as I like to listen to them in context; like a time machine. So an album title would look like "p1965 ~ Revolver", where the p stands for popular music. I exercise my right to be weird! 😉 If the Genre > Album order changes to Genre > Artist > Album at least I hope it can be toggled on/off. drftr
  10. I'm using Aurora Mixified Pixel which since a few days upon request can do the same. See the attachment. Guess this is as minimalistic as it gets. drftr
  11. Not sure how relevant the total song duration is at all as it is (or can be) displayed in the track list already. Of course I can manually calc 34:17 minus the already played 7:53 but there might be a good reason all (?) other players show it? drftr
  12. Is it somehow possible to have the total time of a playing song count down like in most media apps? I was sure there would be a setting for this but can't seem to find it. So left of the bar you'd see the playing time so far (as is the case now) while on the right side you'd see how much you still have to go. That would be a great help for 30+ minute tracks like symphonies. Tnx... drftr
  13. @andrewilley Yeah, the last I want to do is insult someone who was part of the development, but I HONESTLY have no idea what I have selected now. I have questions on the Head-Fi forum about my settings and I can't answer them while these guys are trying to help 😞 drftr
  14. Can't developers read/write English anymore nowadays? Are you saying that in Android I now have Absolute Volume OFF and in Poweramp I have turned Direct Volume Control ON? That would be totally crazy. That would mean that whatever you think a certain setting means, it could be the complete opposite. drftr
  15. ANDROID: Disable Absolute Volume = OFF (hilariously meaning Absolute Volume is ON) Poweramp: No DVC For Bluetooth Absolute Volume = ON (hilariously meaning that Direct Volume Control is OFF) This combination gives by far the loudest volume, so now I can turn down volume to a much more healthy 75% or so, while also being able to use volume control on the in-ears. Should I somehow expect a lower sound quality because of these settings, Andre? Remember I don't use any sound processing in the chain. drftr
  16. After a lot of reading, help from the WF-1000XM4 forum, and finding this apparently common problem on Galaxy phones, one poster nailed it with the following instruction (shared here hoping others can use this to their advantage): Turn off Disable Absolute Volume Unpair all bluetooth devices Apps-->System Apps-->Bluetooth-->Storage-->Clear data Turn off Bluetooth Reboot Turn on Bluetooth Pair with device Worked like a charm and the problem seems to be caused by the Samsung One UI interface in combination with Android 11. drftr
  17. Not sure if you're using Bluetooth headphones or Bluetooth speakers, but if the first is the case AND you're using ANC then you may want to check if the bell-like sound also occurs without ANC, like in the most "normal" mode without any processing involved. Could simply be a by-product of your headphones. I have some funny effects when using ANC on my Sony Bluetooth in-ears for instance using a Samsung phone. Try to peel the onion. Not easy but highly rewarding. drftr
  18. You may want to check my post about volume as maybe you get confused by the double negatives as well. For instance you have to ENABLE the DISABLE Absolute Volume, among other things. drftr
  19. So now with the following settings: Disable Absolute Volume = ON Enable Direct Volume Control = ON No DVC For Bluetooth Absolute Volume = ON Preamp +3 dB the volume is great at 75% without any noticable strain/stress in the music. But the app shows: "DVC for Bluetooth: Available Absolute Volume: Disabled" That is just weird. What am I missing? These 2 don't go together: 1. No DVC For Bluetooth Absolute Volume = ON 2. DVC for Bluetooth: Available How can "No DVC" be ON (as in: DVC is OFF) while DVC is "available"? Can something be OFF and available at the same time? Is it my English maybe? drftr
  20. I'm using Aurora Mixified Pixel and have forwarded my question. Tnx Andre... drftr
  21. I've seen beautiful screens in other apps where no album art is shown. Since I don't have/want any I'd like to have that possibility in PA too. Instead please show the background when toggled off. Better still is to be able to rearrange what's on the screen in this case as most info is cramped into the bottom 1 inch. Would be very nice if we can either rearrange the sections or at least give them more space to "breathe". Minimalism goes a long way. Especially because we can't see music 😉
  22. I'm finding out on the Head-Fi forum that indeed if I turn Absolute Volume off I can't use volume control on the ear buds as you'd expect. So I have to choose between having a lower (read: too low) volume that can be fully controlled on the in-ears, and a higher volume that can't be controlled at the in-ears. Great... 😞 drftr
  23. Thanks Andre. I was thinking about app settings like: "No DVC for Bluetooth Absolute Volume" which no doubt makes some people struggle to answer with Yes / No. What does answering this question with No even mean, some will think. Easier to answer would be "DVC for Bluetooth Absolute Volume" Yes / No? But thanks for confirming my setting is correct. Still not sure how to solve the problem then of course. drftr
  24. Like in Poweramp unfortunately the names of settings are highly confusing as they often include "double negatives" which is difficult to refer to. Like you mention Absolute Volume must be OFF, but the actual setting is called Disable Absolute Volume and I have that ON. So when you say AV must be OFF then I assume that's the same as Disable AV being ON. See what I'm saying? Very confusing but I THINK we say the same thing and therefore my setting is correct. Or...? drftr
