  1. I saw the headphones not playing also. Xperia 5 II
  2. I would love this. I also think it would be worth putting split artists and compilation songs at the end in this sub category also. So when you're in a specific artists list and the "artist" and "album artist" tag don't match. Making this sub category more of a "singles and features" category. For example: If I was looking at the artist "Linkin Park" and there was an album listing for "Various Artists - Transformers Soundtrack" and on that album was a song "Linkin Park - New Divide featuring Mike Shinoda". That album should have the "album artist" tag: "Various Artists" and the "artist" tag something like: "Linkin Park feat. Mike Shinoda". In an ideal list, that album would show up at the end of the list in that sub category for both "Linkin Park" and "Mike Shinoda" since neither of those artists match the "Various Artists" album artist tag. I think this feature alone would take this app up a notch in sorting.
  3. I think what you really want is to not see "unknown" in search results unless unknown is actually in the embedded tags. There should be a check box to omit those results.
  4. This would be awesome but it seems like you're really just talking about playing a video in Poweramp. One album I liked last year has an animated cover through apple. I looked into it, and it turned out to be a 41mb mp4 file (no audio) that essentially plays in a loop while you play songs from the album. I guess this is only different than playing a music video in that you don't have to worry about the audio being in sync and it can move on to the next track without stopping the loop.
  5. I could see it being useful (in the meta data line) to have a boxed "L" for lyrics and a boxed "E" for explicit.
  6. Yeah doesn't work for me either using yaps
  7. What I normally do in this situation is substitute one letter for a Unicode letter. They look nearly identical but Poweramp will sort it as a different title. The two titles below look nearly identical but they are not. I substituted the E in the second title with a Unicode 𝖤. Use compart.com to find Unicode characters that look the same. KSE and KS𝖤
  8. In one of the other topics we were talking about separating singles to show up under a sub category at the end of the albums list by leaving the album artist tag blank, so all unknowns artists are separated from the main album list. This would actually also be ideal for artist splitting. If the artist is not the album artist, and is one of the split artists, it shows up at the end of the list. Maybe separated by an "Appears on" or something like that. Similar to how a lot of the streaming sites do it. Right now with new music, multiple guest features are becoming extremely common. For example, I have 395 songs by a certain artist on my phone. It says 90 albums, but in reality it's like 15 albums by that artist and 75 albums with one song as a guest feature. That's a lot to scroll through. It would be so much nicer if it listed the 15 albums by that artist and then the 75 guest appearances were separated to list at the end after some kind of divider or "Appears on" text. Maybe it's a custom text, or an image. That being said, thanks for the amazing app!
  9. I prefer to name mine B-Sides. That's just an industry term the artist and label usually use for the songs that don't make an album and end up as singles, bonus songs on singles or just stay unreleased. The issue with naming them is they show up in a random order of the list for each artist if you sort by year or album title. Unless you name them something unique like [Singles] and always sort by album title. It would be better to leave them as unknown and let them sort at the bottom of your lists as a sub category as Max said. Then being able to rename this unknown sub category to whatever you want would be awesome.
  10. I just have a Genre for "Lossless" and "Hi-Res" There is a unicode character for Hi-Res that works on android 🆨 You could put it in the titles of your songs. Hi-Res is 24bit, 44khz and up on every major music streaming and purchase website. 16 bit 44 khz is Lossless and everything else is lossy. MQA is 24bit lossy.
  11. You know, you don't actually need an app if you're embedding ratings to the files on your PC. You can quickly create a different playlist for each rating and slap the songs in there and then the code. Because I was bored today and it's simple to make a prefix form code in html, I went ahead and did it and some instructions. https://lateniteharmony.com/Poweramp/ If you already have a playlist full of songs that are 5 stars for example, paste the m3u code into the top box and click the rating to generate the tag for every song. Copy and paste the code it generated in the second box back into the m3u and then import to Poweramp.
  12. I tried it about 6 months ago.. After a couple of hours if playing with it and many crashes I was able to get it to work. I had to abandon it though, it's a tedious process if you continuously add new music and change ratings. I found an easier way imo. Poweramp will read and import the ratings from m3u playlists. I think the easiest way to do it is to just create five playlists on your PC, one for each rating. Then import them into Poweramp. Creating each playlists can actually be done in about a minute from your library folder on the PC and it only takes seconds to transfer the playlists to your Android. Open file explorer in Windows and navigate to the root folder of your music library, use the search bar at the top and search for "Ratings: 5 Stars", select all and play in whatever player you use that can save playlists (I use winamp since it will allow me to queue from explorer), save playlist as m3u, open m3u in text editing app and use the replace feature to insert #EXT-X-Rating:5 on the line above each song in the file. Save m3u and import to Poweramp. Don't forget to turn on the option to import ratings from playlists in Poweramp first. It took me about 5 minutes to playlist the entire library of 15k songs and import into Poweramp. Ymmv on the search scan time depending on what search options you have turned on in Windows. Example of each song in the "5 Star.m3u" playlist: #EXT-X-RATING:5 ../Ben Howard/(2007) Games In The Dark (Demo EP) - Ben Howard/Ben Howard - 01 Games In The Dark.mp3 Repeat the process for each rating and change the number behind the EXT code to match the rating: #EXT-X-RATING:4 = 4 Stars, #EXT-X-RATING:3 = 3 Stars, etc
  13. All album artwork is gone in every album list view. Song list view I see all artwork. Build 963 Sony Xperia 5 II, Android 12 build 58.2.A.10.126 Yaps v215
  14. Yeah I thought of that too. I think that would be good if that's what we could get. But for example, an artist that is a guest feature on 3 songs and all the songs are rated at a 4. That artist would have a rating of a 4 even though I don't particularly like that artist? That artist may be the reason the songs only got a 4 rating. Because that artist is the weak link on the song.
  15. Not sure if this has been requested a few times, but I was going through my music folders and I realized there are certain artists that I have songs for, or artists that are featured on songs and I just don't care for that artist that much. What kept popping up on my mind was having the ability to rate each artist in Poweramp be a great feature. Just a custom 5 star rating the user has to select in Poweramp and doen't affect the tags. Exactly like the current rating system for songs is. You would have the ability to sort "artist by rating" in any lists that you can sort artist. I mean, anytime anyone asks how much you like an artist or how you would rate certain artists, it would be really nice to have something to look at instead of always sitting there and thinking hard about it and trying to explain something you never really think about. It would be really cool to listen to a specific artist in Poweramp and then afterwards/during attach a rating to that artist. Just my thoughts 😃 Edit: also you could add the ability to hide artists with a one star rating in artists lists. That would help consolidate artists lists that are split due to guest features.
  16. I found a few downloaded lrc files that were missing lyrics last week. When I looked at the file in a text viewer they had a single 0 at the end. I changed them to 100 and then they showed up. I noticed a lot of them are like that out there. I think they're coming from musixmatch rips because one had that tag in it.
  17. If they increase to 50, at some point your library will pass that also. It's better to just separate with a regular keyboard & and then use a Unicode & as one you don't want to separate. The Unicode & looks identical in your library and won't get confused with the regular one when Poweramp splits because it's a different character.
  18. So Windows says it has to exist on the Amazon app store. When I searched I don't see Poweramp on there. There is a submission page: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/android/wsa/ @maxmp
  19. Yeah I looked in my older phone at 893 and it's not there. Mandela effect! That's a pretty basic function that should be there and is already populated. You have to click the artist and then click select, then you get the count. Feature request!
  20. Is it just me, or did we lose the ability to see album count? I can't find it in the settings anywhere. I can only see how many songs and time under artists or album artists...
  21. That's what I thought, but it doesn't work in my device. Would there be a skin conflict causing it to stay on?
  22. What does "Headers with meta" actually turn on/off? I can't see any difference.. I always have meta data in my headers.
  23. I think the last library/list feature that mattered to me was splitting Multiple Artists over a year ago. It seems the focus was on Android 12, streaming and audio features since then. I'm curious what the next big push is now that those appear to be stable. I'm really hoping some of the long standing library/list feature requests will get implemented soon. Like customized library tier sorting, for example Genre by Artist-then album or even 2 tier sorting for song lists or files in folder view, hide artists with less than X number of songs, Year-Month-Day sorting, Embedded rating importation, etc.
