  1. Hi guys. Android 12 introduces a major refresh to the operating system's Material Design language branded as "Material You", which is all about beautiful, colors and animation, and a new style, my question is will Poweramp update its UI to material you? I'm hoping that the dev @maxmpwill update Poweramp according to material you design. Also it would be cool to see ui elements accent changing according to the album art since Android 12 is a aesthetic update.

    Thank you.

  2. Hi guys..  This is completely unrelated to Poweramp, but can you guys suggest a good audio converter for Android. I know that there are many good softwares available for PC, but I don't have my PC in my current location, can you guys suggest me good Android app to convert my FLAC files to m4a format. I searched many apps on the play store but none of them supports VBR conversion. So suggest me audio converter app that supports conversion in VBR format please.

    Thank you.

If you don't use a lot of EQ boosts, you could increase the target level for ReplayGain by turning up the RG preamp setting. I have mine set to +6dB, and my preamp for non-RG songs set to -2.5dB, which seems to level 100%-max digital tracks to around the same level whether they have RG tags or not.

    Andre

I don't use EQ since i love to listen to songs as they are intended to listen, and i have set replay gain preamp to +8dB after listening to some tracks, and i didn't change preamp of non-RG song since all of my 2600+ songs have replay gain tag in it. Thanks for the reply 👍

@Scorpion I assume that's the same setting that's in dev options, but made available per BT device rather than globally.

    Andre

I think you are right. And also regarding my complain about low volume, I think I'm kind of getting used to the low volume in Poweramp. Since I use replay gain, even at full volume there's no distortion. So I think my problem got solved itself. 👍

  5. Hey guys..  I just bought a new Bluetooth headphone, and listened to some songs on Poweramp and noticed that volume on Bluetooth headphone is too low compared to Spotify app or any other music players. I tried some instructions from this like disabling absolute volume and it didn't work. I'm dissapointed right now. Any help on this would be appreciated.

    My device - Poco X2 (Redmi K30)

    Android 11 (MIUI 12.5)

    Thank you.

  6. Why does Poweramp doesn't read id3 date and month tag. It only sorts in year order even if my mp3 files have date and month in id3 tags. Look at the screenshots below. IMG_20210901_125438.thumb.jpg.ca17b7e18bf4b76a98ad22cb6ee8e3c3.jpgIMG_20210901_125448.thumb.jpg.aacfc1a6a02369e44865ca3c99ffcc98.jpgIMG_20210901_125508.thumb.jpg.18dcf06611c208f11d681ddecb8549c5.jpgIMG_20210901_125429.thumb.jpg.08380bc6a638351154e2519ee76f314f.jpg

Basically all I'm saying is I need to sort my albums in "year - reverse" but Poweramp is not reading date and month tag.

I can imagine that this might not be easy to implement, but I really wish that when viewing the library there is an indication to the currently playing track not just in SONGS view.  For example when there is a song playing or queued to see its album text in a different color and bold when in ALBUMS view.

    Album 1
    Album 2
    Album 3

The same for ARTIST/GENRE and other categories.  Currently there are only two players with this kind of interface, jetAudio and PlayerPro.  I find this feature of the interface incredibly useful and I think it can be a great improvement to Poweramp.

    +1

  8. Hey guys. I have a small question related to id3 tagging.. All my music files have complete tags including album artist, composers and lyrics, except for comment field.

    IMG_20210822_112834.thumb.jpg.0c1269b8c50904dbc2cd2ccb6a616a6e.jpgIMG_20210822_112805.thumb.jpg.97cf058fec54ea282a216af6bc232d05.jpg

So what exactly is the comment field used for? Should I write my own comment or do I need to search for the songs details on Google? Any details on this would be appreciated. Thank you.

  9. Hi guys..  I have some feature requests, which I think would make Poweramp even better.

    1) Artist Biography- It would be very useful if Poweramp could fetch artist biography. Nowadays every Music player out there in the play store has this feature. I've edited a picture for reference.

2)Dedicated Lyrics button in the player screen (look at the edited picture below)

3)ability to hide album name in the player screen and lists (I even contacted some skin devs and they said they couldn't do it)

I would be really happy if any of the single Features from this list be implemented in Poweramp.

    Thank you.

Thanks Andre, it didn't work. I think what you suggested was for the library not the player ui home display because when i turned the Album Artists label for tracks on,  no difference. if you can refer back to the images I attached to the post you can see what I'm talking about. I really appreciate you reply. Thank you.

U can customize Player UI with Poweramp skins. The skin I'm using in the screenshot is called "Liv Dark Poweramp".

That's not really an export then, more of a music catalogue creator I guess. Not something you can do from Poweramp anyway.

Some tag editors (computer based) can export CSV-format lists based on embedded tag contents, which sounds more like what you want. Tagscanner can create lists for Excel, HTML, etc for example.

    Andre

Sorry for my mistake. Any android app that can do that?

@Scorpion so what exactly are you looking for, your initial post is not clear

I want to export my complete Music library in text format but I tried exporting my whole library as a m3u8 playlist, but after looking at text editor the name that are shown in the m3u8 are based on mp3 files names (for ex - "08-Starboy-the-Weeknd). Basically I want to export my Music library in "Title-Artist" format (for ex - "Starboy - The Weeknd".

Just go into Poweramp's 'All Songs' list and long-press on a song title. Then tap 'All' and '+Playlist' to make a new overarching playlist that contains everything in your music library. It will be sorted in the same order as the List Options you use for the All Songs list, so I suggest perhaps using "By Path" if your content is organised that way, or maybe "By Artist".

Then go to Playlists > (menu) > Export, and that list (alongside any others) will get saved as an .M3U8 text file. You can then open that file in any text editor app to clean it up a bit - such as discarding any lines that start with "#", or removing the initial storage path details that you may not want.

    Andre

Hey.. Thanks for the suggestion. I tried this method, but the name that are shown in the m3u8 is based on mp3 file name rather than "artist-title" or "title-artist".

  14. Hi guys. I need help regarding exporting my Music library in text format. I know this isn't related to Poweramp, but is there any way I can export my complete Music library in text format. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    (note - I don't have a PC right now)
