  1. Am I correct in assuming that you haven't selected the Car Mode option under YAPS > Skin Settings > Miscellaneous Options > "Car Mode"? I don't see a way to get the cover art to display as you have it when "Car Mode" is selected. The tradeoff is that if "Car Mode" isn't selected, the other screens for selecting something to play from the library don't render properly on my display (some of the labels overlap each other). The recent discussion has prompted me to take another look at things. The recent changes Theo has made have resulted in things looking much better on my car's display. We've discussed a few things via email and he has made a few additional changes that I don't think have been released yet, but overall Poweramp is now very usable for me as long as I have "Car Mode" selected.
  2. That's why I was asking if it was human readable such that just the skin settings could be copied/pasted...
  3. I can obviously try this myself by exporting my settings and looking at the file, but is the export file something human readable (such as JSON) such that we could potentially share skin configurations with each other by copy/pasting that section of the settings export file? I would think that would be useful not only for sharing configurations, but potentially useful for Theo when providing support.
  4. Yeah, something dedicated to auto use could have some real potential.
  5. Thanks - I will try to get you the info you're asking for in the next day or so.
  6. Hmm, I may have to play around with mine some more with the current version. Would be nice to be able to move the artist, album, and song titles to the far left above the album art though to allow longer text values to display. Is there a way for us to share skin configs with each other?
  7. Yeah, we discussed the problems via email several months ago and IIRC, some of them are things you said you can't address with the skin engine. We also discussed this some in the Looking for a skin for Android headunit thread. I haven't used Poweramp in a while largely because there just doesn't seem to be a way to get the available skins to work really well on an Android headunit. If you want to revisit any of this, I can try to find some time to try out the latest version and get back to you with some screenshots showing what the remaining issues are, but from what you've said in the past, there isn't too much of a chance that you can address them without some companion changes in Poweramp itself.
  8. I know in my case, I'm not overly interested in details around gradients and such and I'm not enough of a design person to end up with a good result if I miss with those things too much. I honestly bought the skin hoping it would make Poweramp more usable while driving, but the limitations you're working with within Poweramp limit just how much you can do in regards to moving items around and resizing them.
  9. Is there any chance there has been any progress on removing the text label from the Back buttons so that the left margin feature you added doesn't have to contend with text of variable length to resolve the issues with using the skin in a car mode situation?
  10. That definitely helps (a lot, actually), but it would still be useful to be able to turn off display of the album cover there. No matter what color is chosen, there's bound to be an album cover where the buttons blend in with the chosen color. It's not too big a deal when using the app on a phone, but when using it in a car situation, it's important to have things as uncluttered as reasonably possible. The same thing applies to the album page as well - the cover art is displayed in the top region and has the same issue with potentially obscuring the buttons. Another item that some feedback would be appreciated on is the balancing act of getting text big enough for car mode, but not running into issues with overlapping controls. I need to check this out more on my car's display, as I've been doing much of the testing on a spare Samsung S8 that I have around (it's cold in the car this time of year :)), but when in landscape mode, some of the controls overlap each other on the artist and album pages: Artist Page Artist Album Page On the artist page, the navigation to go back to Album Artists (or where ever you came from) slightly overlaps the artist name just below it. On the album page, the name of the selected album is completely obscured. I have the following font sizes selected: Track font size: 12.0 Album/Artist font size: 12.0 Library List font size: 12.0 Scale Library font: 1 Meta Info font size: 12sp Timings font size: 12sp I have no idea how much flexibility there is with moving fields around with a skin, but having the option to move the album name to the right of the navigation back to Artist Albums or put the album name and artist onto the same row would probably help here. For example: Instead of: [^ Artist Albums] [Drive] [Alan Jackson] [13|49:43|2002] Display it as: [^ Artist Albums] [Alan Jackson] [Drive] [13|49:43|2002] Or as: [^ Artist Albums] [Alan Jackson] [Drive] [13|49:43|2002]
  11. I guess that explains why I couldn't find it. Thanks for the response - any rough idea how soon this option might be added?
  12. My apologies if my terminology is wrong as I’m still getting up to speed with Poweramp. I enabled CarMode and then set the Scale Library Font option to 1, which most of the text big enough. One thing I haven’t been able to figure out is how to disable the cover art that displays at the top of the artist page (the page that displays when I start at the top of the library, select Album Artist, then select an artist). The top of this page shows the first album cover for the artist along with the category (Album Artist), artist name, and other controls. The album art makes it difficult to see some of the text and controls, so I’d like to be able to disable it. Is this possible and if so, where do I configure that? I’ve looked through the skin settings and tried changing some of the settings that seemed like they might be the correct one, but no luck so far.
