Hide skin name in the bottom overflow menu
John Titor replied to John Titor's topic in Skins and Visualizations
Hmm you are right, I installed it myself and saw that. I tried other skins as well (such as Aurora). It also shows its own logo there. Yaps just completely hides the logo. I wonder if it would be possible to show the default Poweramp logo while a third party skin is applied, instead of showing the skin logo or hiding it altogether. -

It's a MIUI 12.5 specific bug, would be fixed by an automatic update according to https://c.mi.com/thread-3769669-1-0.html. If haven't recieved an update, or still seeing the bug, please report it to Xiaomi using the feedback app.

It's a MIUI 12.5 bug with media player notifications, I am afraid. And it apparently will be fixed by an "automatic update". Currently it affects all devices upgraded to MIUI 12.5. You can read more about this here.
-
Well it's down to how Android/MIUI displays the notification. Your old phone had Android 10 while your new phone has Android 9. Using these settings might change the behavior a bit, but completely in the way you expect to. I would recommend looking for an update (software or full device).

Is that MIUI/Oxygen OS/Lineage OS version? What is the Android version?

Probably not as counterproductive as it sounds, in some languages, just one character could mean a whole word or sentence (yes those kanjis, Chinese, and arabic characters), unlike English. I for one think this would enhance search experience.

Plus it seems like PEQ no longer saves last processed commands log. I am using headphone buttons and they are working perfectly with YouTube and Spotify but there's no log! It's always empty. It works flawlessly with PA v 905 though.

I am seeing Poweramp Equalizer in Open with dialog for all kinds of files (videos, music files, PDFs). Would be nice if I could only see it for .pa-eq-preset and .txt. 😅
-
By the way, clicking on bands: 2 parametric just leads to a band selection page for the graphic equalizer, which doesn't work with parametric EQ mode. And can we have a graphical representation mode for the EQ presets? The current one on the preset page is a bit small, just a suggestion

Same thing happens with some other frequency bands, trying to set up precisely 7624 doesn't work, the frequency is automatically adjusted to 7600.

So I was trying to tune the Equalizer according to https://github.com/jaakkopasanen/AutoEq/tree/master/results/rtings/rtings_harman_in-ear_2019v2/Samsung AKG EO-IG955 Type-C this, but when I wanted to set 742 as peak frequency with the q 1.09 and gain 0.8dB, the pf just went down to 740. I can't set a pf precisely to 742?

I had been waiting for it, finally!

Windows 11 will support Android apps natively
John Titor replied to AndresT's topic in Poweramp Feature Requests
Well there is something called WhatsApp Web, basically a user interface of WhatsApp on a PC browser. I was thinking they would do something similar after Windows 11 news is officially released. -
Hey just so you know Google and your bank/card provider actually process the payment info, app developers don't. Once you click purchase/buy and you make a payment, let it load and don't process any button, Google Play will start installing it automatically. After that purchase is verified/accepted by Google Play, you'll get an email with information on what you purchased and how much you've paid, along with the order id. In case something goes wrong you can use that order id with relevant information to contact Google. And by the way, if you have already purchased an item/app, trying to repurchase it would result in an error, not proceeding to payment again. And oh, after requesting a refund via Google Play, you would get an email when the refund is processed. The problem you have is unusual though, so probably raise an issue with Google Play as Andre suggested.

Windows 11 will support Android apps natively
John Titor replied to AndresT's topic in Poweramp Feature Requests
Good point, Poweramp is currently optimized for the Android ecosystem, features like Hi-res and proper sound processing would probably require a code rewrite rather than working "out of the box". And it would still depend on how much Windows would let Android apps utilize the hardware capabilities. Yeah I kinda got over-enthusiastic. Even though there is still a chance that advanced applications won't function as intended, I think apps like Tiktok and WhatsApp will do great on Windows 11. -
Windows 11 will support Android apps natively
John Titor replied to AndresT's topic in Poweramp Feature Requests
So what's making the headlines in the tech news is that Windows 11 which will be launched later this year, will have Android apps support. Users will be able to download and install android apps through Amazon app store (no, there is no desktop Google Play Store, yet). Well a lot of functions in Android apps depend on touch inputs, they might not work well on a computer. So let's cut to the chase, would Poweramp be supported on a device running on Windows 11 as an "Android app"? That would mean optimizing Poweramp for x86_64 CPUs, along with other input optimizations. -
Tidal also doesn't expose their audio session for equalization, but you may be able to enable equalization for it with Advanced player tracking mode. Just grant the DUMP permission via ADB and enable notification listener service too as instructed.

Well, Poweramp UI is certainly customisable via skins, except for the settings page. I would love if some elements in settings page such as icons, could be changed to material you/one ui style. Just to note, Google is redesigning Chrome's UI to Material you's style. It can even be enabled on a non Android phone. So my point is, it's ought to be possible to make Poweramp UI have Material UI style on non Android 12 devices.

Play from "YouTube music uploaded songs"
John Titor replied to Meganathan's topic in Poweramp Feature Requests
I mean there is no official API to download/stream songs from YT music. However, you can use PA EQ to equalize YT music app directly. And there are ways to download songs unofficially from third party applications/websites 😉 -
Play from "YouTube music uploaded songs"

Sure at the cost of Poweramp being taken down from Google Play Store -
"Do not disturb mode" for uninterrupted continuous listening when in mood. It would basically disable volume ducking when audio focus changes (i.e. notifications). And it shouldn't stop audio except for calls/another music player. Well I could change all those options by hand, but it would be more easier to do it with one tap. Sometimes I want to listen to music uninterruptedly, but in other times of the day, I would allow myself to get pestered with notifications.

Oboe is literally just a wrapper for AAudio output, which falls back to OpenSL ES on older Android versions. AAudio output is already implemented in Poweramp. You can enable it from Settings > Audio > Output. And low latency mode isn't really designed/needed for media players, though it is quite useful on high performance audio applications.
