  1. SoX resampler include many settings aside from bandwith and dithering, such as VHQ SRC, steep filter, phase response and anti aliasing. Since resampling oftenly takes place, could you please consider including all the sound settings SoX has to offer? That would give more control over the sound quality and signature. Thanks in advance.

@Romain1998 sorry, I though the issue was the sample rate. Now it's something related to the volume? Poweramp may change volume slightly (+/- 1) for few seconds after the BT connection if "No DVC For Absolute Volume" option is enabled. This is never more than +/-1 and not generally noticeable. There is no other way to check for the Absolute Volume as Google bugged everything related to it in the recent androids (looks like new team works on BT stack and they just keep everything they don't use/test in broken state), but if you know you have Absolute Volume disabled, you can just disable option "No DVC For Absolute Volume" to avoid any volume changes. Android still will restore some previous volume for the Bluetooth + the BT device may also have some other volume level.

@maxmp Actually, it's when the Bluetooth Hi-Res output sample rate resets itself to 48 khz that the volume also starts to automatically change. This makes the issue even more annoying. I don't think it's related to the DVC though, since I don't have it activated.

@Romain1998 I use task management tools. Bixby Routines free on Samsung devices is handy, you can set it to apply certain volume levels when you connect a specific Bluetooth device, and set them back again afterwards.

@andrewilley Right, thanks for the tip, but can you fix it?

@Romain1998 Poweramp follows system here, ensure you have ldac working for 96khz.

@maxmp I didn't precise it, but when the sample rate resets itself to 48 khz (for instance, when Poweramp is not playing any sound, working in background and then used again), the volume also automatically and drastically increases and decreases up until I pick another sample rate in the app.

Sometimes, when I forget about it and I'm using my headphones, it catches me by surprise and hurts my ears. Please, could you do something about this? It's really irritating.

  5. Hello, I was just wondering if you could please allow 32 bit output on the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro. Thanks.

  6. I have another PC alternative which is Aimp, a good and lightweight audiophile audio player with a large playback (which includes radios and URL), a big number of features (such as output selection, resampling, an equalizer, etc.) and a pleasant and customisable interface.

No, unfortunately it’s not possible to plugin things like resamplers this way without root, and no hi-res supported on most devices (though it’s not an issue for streaming services).

OK, i see. One more question. It's off topic, but, since i couldn't find the answer to it, could you please tell me if the resampler cutoff frequency ratio affects audio quality and what it basically does? Thanks.

Something like this is in the works, but it’s a separate app, not Poweramp. In essence, it’s similar to other “equalizer” apps, but with stuff like DVC, only for Android 9+, with the other perks you can find in Poweramp equalizer/dsp.

Great, but will it also include, for instance, TSN, SoX resampling and hi-res output?

That has been requested multiple times over the last 7-8 years, hopefully Max might still be able to add it to some future release? He did say he would, but I guess other more pressing things keep taking up his time. The Repeat icon options need updating to change the old v2 'List' terminology to v3's 'Category' wording anyway, just for consistency.

OK, thank your for your understanding. I know it's a bit off topic, but could you please explain me, exactly and in simple terms, what the resampler cuttoff frequency ratio does, because i'm not positive to have understand it. Does it actually have an impact on the audio quality?

Oversampling is possible in PA, but oversampling itself doesn't give any improvements to sound, quite contrary it can easily increase the amount of distortion.

Tone regulators for bass and treble are always available in the eq scr

Thank you for your responses. By tonality, i actually meant the pitch. Sorry for the incorrect wording. As for the playback stop, i meant the possibility of being able to stop the playback after the end of a given track while in the middle of a playlist for instance.

  11. Hello, i recently downloaded and bought the application. Coming from other audio players, i was wondering if you could please add the following features:

    - DSD

    - bit perfect output

    - 2 Passes (as in VLC)

    - 32 bits support for Hi-Res audio

    - pitch control

    - current playlist, playback stop and A-B repetition (as in jetAudio)

    - playlist import

    - lyrics editing and writing.

    Sincerely yours
