  1. hi all. I have had an interesting few days playing with the Poweramp app and new eq app and addressing my volume issues, so thought might be nice to share in case helpful or if anyone can educate me. Now mostly resolved my issues. Adjusted just about everything and got my S10+ sounding decent but not great hence the recent fiddling. Eq app eventually added Poweramp to known players so all working now but then I read that the EQ app doesnt actually work with Poweramp! shame. I discovered that the audio interface box that one can have on the S10+ screen has sliders for bluetooth/wired headphones and another for app/media. This is reproduced when using samsung sound assistant and so there are options for numbers beside the sliders for more accuracy. I find that purely accessing these boxes and putting the headphone slider to 142% (might be a clue here as to an increase in volume as 150% max rather than 100%?) significantly increases the volume. I can then set Poweramp vol at 80/90% and my music is mostly properly loud and punchy. Quite significant vol increase and I have not seen this simple tweak/adjustment mentioned anywhere, which seems odd.
  2. so this new eq app will not work with Poweramp?! How disappointing. will this ever change?
  3. hi all. my enquiry to Andre was put in this thread so I hope relevant. Eq app eventually added Poweramp to known players so all working now. I discovered that the audio interface box that one can have on S10+ screen has sliders for bluetooth/wired headphones and another for app/media. This is reproduced when using samsung sound assistant but this has the added benefit of numbers beside the sliders for more accuracy. I find that purely accessing these boxes and putting the headphone slider to 140% (might be a clue here as to an increase in volume as 150% max rather than 100%?) significantly increases the volume. I can then set Poweramp vol at 70/80% and my music is properly loud and punchy. Quite remarkable the difference and I have not seen this simple tweak/adjustment mentioned anywhere, which seems odd. I'd love to have my bluetooth melomania buds, when pressing volume buttons, just adjust the bud volume and the phone vol buttons just adjust the phone/app volume, but this is a small gripe compared to the audio quality and loudness.
  4. hi Andre. i looked on forum but did not see what i needed. please feel free to point me to something i should be reading and not bugging you. You have been wonderfully helpful previously with Poweramp. please forgive me for bothering you and this probably too long email to you, but for me you are the font of all wisdom! just taken plunge on a new galaxy s10 to replace my s5 and disappointed that low volume is still an issue with these phones after all these years. amazes me samsung and other providers dont work with 3rd party app developers to offer us consumers an option to just increase the bloody volume. bugbear of mine for years! with Poweramp my s5 is just about ok. s10 a bit low even after tweaking and adjusting everything. i was about to embark on a likely fruitless search of vol booster apps as most seem pretty useless/temperamental or if they work they seem harsh for music but saw this new eq app and got excited. installed immediately but doesn't seem to do anything. is it working? anything i need to do? tried to link it with Poweramp (and would like youtube/vlc/etc) but i may be stupid. happy to pay for this new app when out! hoping it will address the volume as i only need another 10% to be happy. a bit more would be lovely but 10 ish would be cool. i notice on the s10 i cannot keep ldac set as the bluetooth dac or keep option for enhanced for best audio quality as always revert to default but hopefully future update will allow this. thanks and again v sorry for lengthy email. Gerald
  5. hi. yes exactly. paste playlist files to correct location and delete m3u files so then just have playlists i want. makes me wonder where the hell i got all the pla files from! quite amusing. so is there a way you know of for me to convert pla to m3u8 or will i have to bite the bullet and start all over again? Wont kill me but nice to avoid if i can. cheers. G
  6. hi. i am confused about my playlists and hoping you can help me make sense of it. i use itunes and isyncr syncs everything. i was able to export all my playlists and edited them so my backups were what i wanted and would reinstall them when needed. i have a folder with a load of .pla files. all was well. i now find that my exported powramp playlists are m3u8 files. when i paste my existing .pla playlists they no longer work. can i convert pla to m3u or u8? I have looked online and have found programs that say they do it but I cannot make work. thank you. G
  7. only just seen this response. sorry for slow reply. i have adjusted everything. usually makes little or no difference. i am surprised most users dont have the same issue with tone and eq needing to be able to be reduced. having said that i am at the point where most files are just about ok if everything apart from bass is as low as possible. i will have to edit some files by reducing treble but not too many so i can live with that. G
  8. Hi again. Recently reset phone and was updating music. I may have missed an update or something as seems to have changed. The audio issues are now reduced enough that I can play a lot of my music without issue. Fantastic. I do still find that I have to have all eq settings set to minimum but can now add some bass and even some treble for some of my stuff. It would still be great to have the settings adjusted so users can significantly reduce everything on the eq, but it does seem to be better than it was. Thanks v much for that. Makes listening to songs much more pleasant. I have issues with updating playlists but will ask on another thread. Cheers. Gerald
  9. hi. i have a galaxy s5 kernel 3.4.0-14131106. i find i cannot play anything without distortion unless i use eq with all settings on minimum. adjusted everything including number of volume levels and dvc but nothing really helps. the new app awesome and nice and loud and playlists working great. thank you. only issue is eq. if the minimum setting was actually 50 % or even 75 % meaning one could adjust all sliders to well below the current minimum it would be perfect. thanks v much. Gerald.
  10. Hi Andre. Apologies for slow response. What I've done is copy and hit the plus button to create Poweramp playlists from the .m3u8 playlists that seem to be what now appear in Poweramp. My recollection having used isyncr and Poweramp for years is that previously all my playlists did not have .m3u or .m3u8 but now they do. I've ticked folders in library and for now I have 2 playlists for everything so I'm currently ignoring the .m3u8 lists and just updating and backing up the internal playlists that I've managed to create. In all fairness much as I'd really like to remove the duplicate .m3u8 lists they don't impact my ability to use the normal lists. I'm slightly OCD so this sort of thing does bug me but I'll manage! Just wanted to say thanks again for your assistance. Very much appreciated. I'll start a new thread re audio quality issues now. Cheers. G
  11. Hi Andre. As I deleted everything from isyncr and .m3 playlists in Poweramp I'm thinking they must also be in another location that's not obvious so I may be back to needing a file finding app? Regarding the audio issues I am experiencing I have not found a post addressing this so wanted to ask you if there is a post I have missed or if I should start a new one? Thanks v much.
  12. Hi Andre. I was doing a bit of research and came across something you said to another user regarding playlists and creating a new one thus making a Poweramp playlist. Worked perfectly so I didn't need to use a file finding app. I deleted all the .m3 playlists from isyncr folder but they still appeared in Poweramp so I deleted from Poweramp. Just opened Poweramp and I have both types if playlists again. Is there a way to delete them? Regarding the problems I am having with the audio being very high in treble, would it be best for me to start a new thread? Nothing I've tried so far helps. Increased volume fantastic but audio quality seems to have problems on my Galaxy S5. Cheers. G
  13. Hello. Sorry for slow response. I will have a play about and see what I can do re playlists. Hopefully the apps you mention and or vlc player will help me do all info editing I need to do. As for sound the DVC setting makes a difference re volume but possibly a bit scratchier sounding. Not sure though. The different volume progression options 30 50 100 seem to make a difference but quite erratic and still unpleasantly trebly and using tone settings was horrific. Need to do more listening and maybe reinstall. I'm guessing developers are working on to tidy up the sound, so for now after all the improvements we can't really complain as I think with some tweaks I can make it acceptable for the time being.
  14. Hello Andrew. Thanks for the advice. I also noticed that vlc player has same type of playlist files so maybe that's an option. In near future I will do some downloading and testing and hopefully all will work. Would it be worth my while starting a post asking if anyone has a good way to move playlists between a laptop and phone whilst editing multiple files re artist album etc etc? While I have your attention, could you possibly point me in the direction of some guidance about the latest Poweramp update and how to resolve on my Galaxy S5 the extremely high treble? The incredible sound quality and wonderful increase in volume means this app is a Godsend but I can only listen to music with eq on and 2 far left sliders up a bit for bass and everything else set to minimum. Just about works. Thank you very much. G
  15. Hi Andre. Thanks for getting in touch. I may have made an error as maybe app cannot do what I have. All the playlists I would like to back up have .m3u after the names and were created on my galaxy S5 by syncing with my itunes using isyncr app.
  16. Hello. I have a Galaxy S5. When I press the export playlist button it says 0 playlists exported. Help!
