In practice... I kinda agree with the thumbnail. But for trying to skew frequencies away from what would bother some with reactive tinnitus, it's pretty harmless if not beneficial for that!

One single tap on the notification from the lockscreen is all it takes, and Poweramp is open. Boom. Done.

Just make your settings like mine. All you have to do is tap on the notification on your lockscreen, and Poweramp opens (if you want to do more than just pause or skip forward/back to next track).

Regardless of whether or not my ambient lockscreen display is enabled, Poweramp does not wake or unlock my phone (Pixel 7 Pro, Android 14), after being manually locked during active playback.

Honestly it's pretty disheartening to see this kind of animus towards localization needs. Every vote for something is a vote against something else, so I don't think there should be negative votes period. Armchair guesswork here, but a handful of spiteful users (with their own pet requests) probably ganged up on a low vote item thinking it would be somehow advantageous to them. Idk.

You are putting way too much thought into this as a customer/user.

You paid for your license (I would hope), end of story.

If I paid full price, and someone got a regional deal that was advantageous to them, should I feel slighted and irate that someone got the same thing for less? (Answer: No. I mind my business)

Poweramp processes music in stereo.

If you have multichannel sources, it downmixes it to stereo.

You can already add reverb and stereo expand with the DSP knobs.

Midi is like the recipe of a song. There's no ingredients present. You still need a soundfont to apply it to.

I'll add onto this with a report that when in full screen visualization mode, one can mis-click the static waveseek bar, jumping the track forward or back. No other UI elements which are hidden in full screen visualization mode can be mis-clicked, only the seekbar, oddly.

They had this option disabled, hence why it appeared to be full screen visualization.

I think I found it:

Search for "Output" --> click AAudio Output -> Bluetooth (my headphones are bluetooth) -> press "Gear" icon -> turn on "No Equ/Tone"

There is a "no EQ/DSP" option for every output plugin and every output device. Just dig into the menu for the output plugin and output device that you use with your setup.

(This is not the only way to do what you want, evidenced by the other good tips you've got in the thread)

Alternatively, go to Poweramp's settings-> audio -> output -> (choose output method) -> (choose output device) -> toggle "no EQ/DSP" on.

Re-read the above posts.

Poweramp player is for local music. It has an equalizer, but that's self contained. Poweramp EQ won't do anything unless given appropriate permissions to re-touch the audio streams of different apps.
