Although if you just want more bass you won't need 60 EQ bands, just one (parametric) will do nicely. The thing with a parametric equalizer being not that you've got so many bands, but that you need so few.

    Of course!

For example, I think in RME’s ADI-2 FS desktop DAC/AMP, they determined the most you reeeaaalllyy need is about 5. Before you begin to run into trade offs :P

IMO,I love the sound quality and EQ PA provides (32 bands! No other music player on android has this to my knowledge). And most of all PA has a robust flexible and customisable (with skins) UI. It still lacks a crystalizer, autoEQ (headphones based equalization). JetAudio kinda wins on that one (has tones of customisable audio settings).

I would still prefer PA as it suits my needs well (ie. I don't need that many audio settings) and of course I love the gestures and UI. 🙂

Anyway this forum is for discussing about Poweramp not about other music players in general. I don't think it would be a good idea to outright discuss about other music players (unless a mod gives us permission).

Neutron has up to 60 graphic and parametric EQ bands, and AutoEQ implementation.

Though far less customization in the skin/UI front. (Liv Dark being my favorite iteration on that for Poweramp).

I accrued the better part of my library while using a Mac/iTunes.

Since my 2007-era iMac died last year  I've been using a PC/Foobar... haven't opened iTunes more than a handful of times. Let alone tell it where my library resides 🤭.

And so I don't really know what my genres appear as or sort as in iTunes, tbh. At some point I just started listing genres an album belonged to, never with any real thought of if it was "supported" or not in iTunes. Now that I have my library on HDDs and my DAPs sd cards, the thought of going in and adding "//" instead of "," is much less preferable to how Poweramp now just lets me choose which separator i prefer !

Drill down through the Artist category until you see the specific track from which you want to use its existing embedded album cover image. Long press on the track title and select 'Album Art'. Tick the 'Also use for Artist' box and tap on the existing 'embedded album art' image.

I view my library through Album-Artist category, I typically don't even have the Artist category shown at all. This option does not show up when you drill down into the Album-Artist category to the song with existing embedded album cover images. It does only show up when you drill down the Artist category. But it does, thankfully, retain the selection made there for the Album-Artist category.

  5. You are again not understanding me. It's very simple.

    Quite simple.

I'm not looking for ARTIST IMAGES. This should have been clear to you from my first post.

Artist images, in my case, or the image shown next to the artist names, are being pulled from the media's embedded album artwork. Because I have download artist images DISABLED. Poweramp selects an album cover to show next to the artist heading. It does so alphabetically. This is unwanted. And changing the image manually does not function as I have no loose .jpg's to select from the gallery.

Poweramp most definitely knows how to get an image from tags to display by the artist name, and it does so as described. I wish to be able to choose the album cover from the existing albums.

  6. I’m aware of the “Artist Image” finder, or selection of an image from the gallery, but for someone with all album covers being imbedded, this is not functional at all. There’s no image to select in my case. And so the first album alphabetically is always automatically chosen for a given artist/album-artist.

Example: album beginning with the number 2 was chosen (by PA) for artist picture. Deleted this album, album beginning with the letter B was chosen (by PA) for artist picture.

I wish to be able to change the pattern of “choosing” an album cover set for the Artist/Album-Artist, either making it entirely random , by most recent, by oldest, etc. Or just choose the album most aesthetically pleasing and set it as the default Artist Image.

  7. Aren't we all paid users?

If someone on a trial copy received a pop up they couldn't disable, I don't know if they're the target market for "donations". They're in the "still needing to buy the app" segment of the market. I feel like it should only appear for paid users. It might be unclear to newbies whether or not such a donation gets them a license to the app or not at that stage.

  8. Change the opacity in the visualization settings.

Settings -> Visualization -> Top Visualization Panel Opacity (0-100%)

Note, it will still change the visualization if you swipe the panel’s region. You’ll need to cycle through visualization toggles from off to on again for it to appear before timing out again.

  9. Before posting I tried looking for “forum rules”...

searching “rules” did not reveal anything taboo.

Before anything risky at all in the instructions are listed official firmware restoring tools, negating any “bricking” scenarios.

  10. Poweramp is a music player, not a data recovery service.

Upon selecting a song for deletion, you are prompted with the following:

“Selected song will be permanently deleted from the storage. CUE won’t be removed.

    Cancel / Delete

    You were appropriately warned, no?
